wonder if the Giants scrubs are going to be motivated to pound the snot out of the Jets tonight. Or, if no one cares bc it is just preseason.

The "chip on the shoulder" angle is overused in sports media, but there has to be some of that going on with the World Champ Giants seeing nothing but Jets coverage when they turn on the TV/Radio/open the paper.

:goodposting: I make the same mistake almost every year in that I put personal thoughts into the teaser picks, and don't just make the picks based on the numbers. I liked Buffalo as a teaser leg a lot this week, and was thinking "thank God for that .5 point" when they were down 14-22 with 3:22 to go in the game :no:
 
Not sure when the week 1 NCFF totals will be out, but I can tell you right now that I'm going to have more then I should on the Over Zona/Toledo game. Anything sub 56 is going to get pounded.

 
More dumb/obvious/n00b Wong questions:

1) Basic Wong seems to be combo everything that's +1.5 to +2.5, or -7.5 to -8.5. Is there a formula or a way to know when to exclude anything in this range? Or include anything that's slightly outside of that range, e.g. +1 to +7? I've ordered the book, so that might answer my questions.

2) It's best to wait until as late as possible to make one's bets, is that at the expense of letting some lines move outside of the Wong Zone, say a game going from 2.5 to 3?

Think all the Wong teams hit today.

lumpy goes "by the book" according to Wong, which is fine. I am happy just getting good numbers based on common differentials. I look to GET +7.5 or +8 or +10.5 or +11.5 or +14.5 and I look to GIVE -2.5, -6.5 and on rare occasions -9.5. It's just based off of key numbers.You've probably read this already, but never cross zero. EX: taking a favorite of -2.5 and teasing them to +3.5

You lose teaser value in that scenario.

1) Tease any game in that range. The Wong system is based solely on this range.2) It's best to wait to get the final, sharpest lines - that's what teaser value is based on. While it may be at the "expense" of moving outside the zone, it loses the value because the final line (with the 6 point teaser) no longer crosses both the 3 and 7.
 
Rumor is Andy Reid may keep the starters in until the 3rd quarter for their game against the Pats. Would seem Philly +1 is a pretty good bet since i think the Pats have no reason to stretch their starters out too long in the game. Of course it is preseason and you can't trust what either of these guys say, but i think the bet makes sense

Makes sense at CLE hosts Phil in week 1 and in week 3 of the preseason. No one expects either team to play its starters very long in the preseason game on the 24th as a result. Makes total sense that PHI will use the NE as their "dress rehersal" and play the reserves/roster bubble guys a whole lot on Friday night. Besides, Big B could care less about preseason games. I think this bet makes a ton of sense.

Week 2x will be a nice teaser week if philly covers tonight, small winner if philly doesn't cover +8 for me tonight.

Plus, the Pats have a pretty good history of losing preseason games. BB uses the preseason for what it's meant for, and over-evaluates everybody to make sure he has what he wants.

Just watched the iggles/pats line drop another point. patsies +1 now. Might we be able to get both teams at 7+?? I hope like lumpy says they put out next weeks lines soon.

 
Any idea when offensive and defensive rookie of the year lines come out?

I can't find it on Sportsbook, but I want to load up on Chandler Jones when it does, If any of your books have it already, you should grab it. The man is a beast.

Sign up at bookmaker and get the debit card. If you want instant that's probably your best option. Sometimes the money is available via ATM within a few hours. You're going to pay if you want money quick though.

:no: I stopped watching when it was 11-0. Think i am glad i did. Eagles may be in for a long season though when Ryan Mallet can drive down the field as easily as he did for that TD drive. Funny thing was the 1st half line and game line were moved to adjust to the changes, but the Eagles 1st Q was off from those 2 and the Eagles were getting points for the 1st Q. Seemed odd to me, but i took it anyway. Hate to be all :tinfoilhat: , but i am guessing somebody made some good money off that 1st Q line

Penalties have been brutal. I've always thought that stuff like that is a coaching issue. Late hits, offsides, etcOn the bright side for eagles fans, foles has looked pretty good. I'm sure NE's def is nothing special but he's still looked good, better than blaine gabbert looked all of last season.
 
Anyone still playing those "Will there be a 1st inning run -- YES" bets?

Teams scored in the 1st inning in 11 of 12 games tonight. :blackdot:
