FFA Wagering Thread: THERE HE IS!@! (6 Viewers)

Side note...whoever was the brainchild of weekday football is a ####### genius
College only. I don't care how ####ty the college game is, I will watch it on a Thursday night over the NFL every single time.
Love it. Thursday Night football is the reason CSU became a pretty good team/program there for awhile. That, and of course, our boy Sonny. Coaches didn't want to deal with the short week and all but Lubick was all for the exposure and it absolutely worked. We would be on multiple times a year (sometimes 3); I loved it. Obviously great for recruiting, especially for the fringe programs, so they all jumped in and ESPN ended up with whoever they wanted, for the most part. That hurt. And now I can't remember the last time we played on Thursday. ...or won a game. <SIGH>BTW, TF, this was about the time when CSU went into LSU.......and WON.

I made quite a few bucks on CSU when Van Pelt was there. My God, could that young fella SCOOT! :banned:

:excited: X100. Favorite CSU player ever. Guy would skate to practice. So competitive and so ####### fun to watch. Tough as ####, basically a Linebacker playing QB. He was at Michigan State (like his old man, the All-American), as a LB but wanted to play QB. They wouldn't do it, so Sonny said if he came to CSU he'd give him a shot at it and the rest was history.####, you got me started. :bag: Those were the days...

You think YOU need a :bag: ...?I remember his old man playing with the Giants. A linebacker wearing #10. Awesome.

I think he played a year or two with LT, but mostly overlapped Harry Carson.

. How many tacklers had a shot at Cecil the Diesel here, 7? And there's Van Pelt in the endzone going nuts.Okay, I'm done.

Tonight's sports slate =
I have to disagree here. If you haven't seen a Nevada game yet this year they are real fun to watch. Like Houston/texas tech but with a run game.
I've had the kid all week. Might take her to our town's HS homecoming game tonight. Something to do.And she loves hot dogs.
Tell me you took her to the horse races the other day. :deadhorse:
We didn't get to it, just kind of ran out of day. But I'm planning on taking her soon.Football game was OK. She loved the hot dog, and she liked the student section. We walked past them as they fired up a "We can't hear you!" chant. Cheerleaders were a win. Marching band was a win. Firework show was a win.And dear God, I never remember that much "talent" being around when I was in high school. They. Were. Everywhere. :jawedrop:

Just checked out BVP's facebook page (we are "friends"...we have mutual friends). He's hasn't been on there since '10. Lives in Santa Barbara last I heard, and was selling wine for my god-father. After a few years in football in Europe. I did see an article about him not too long in the Denver Post (I think it was). It was comparing him to Tebow and asking him what he thought about everything. He was candid like always and said he felt like he never got the chance and whatnot. And of course thought he could've done it. And then admitted he's not over it, poor guy, hasn't got passed it.They were the exact same size. I think Van Pelt led the Mountain West in rushing, I'll have to look.

Since you guys are into this Ducks game first half...and I'm bored...

Looks like it will be real wet, fwiw. Oregon having SC on deck next week, I actually think the 2nd half play will be the other way here. Embree and staff are kind of fighting for their jobs already, I'd say. Which at this point will come down to the effort they can get out of their kids the rest of the year. If they start showing signs of quit, sayonara, I have to think. So I expect they'll keep trying while Oregon boards the plane to the Coliseum at half.

This is one of the biggest in-conference spreads in history or some ####, the WSJ was saying. Definitely one of the biggest in the last 30 years. Buffs are god awful  , but gun to my head, I would actually take the points for the game...and for sure the 2nd half. Yeah, in the line (SC and all) but still.
