FFA Wagering Thread: THERE HE IS!@! (5 Viewers)

Missouri lean was off the mark last night, however Alabama ML bet cashed in nicely...While breaking down tonight's SEC matchups, I snoozed on getting in a big play on Texas A&M @ LSU. When I logged in at my offshore about an hour ago, that line was a sweet A&M +1, with a plus ML, of course . Didn't think it would move that fast, but it's now A&M -1.5. This is most definitely a play, and a strong one. LSU one of a handful of SEC squads that might count it's number of conference victoriest this season on one hand. Certainly shouldn't be favored over a superior team, even if it is at home, which is all they have going for them tonight. The loss @ Georgia on Saturday was a physical one, an already inferior Team got pretty banged up and lost a contributing Freshman, G Corbin Collins, and LSU is going to be playing guys out of rotation and position tonight. A&M got manhandled by Florida after beating Arkansas and Kentucky, but rebounded nicely and played a tough game @ an improving Alabama team, losing only by 1 on Saturday. A&M has their own issues, but vets and size put them very much in the upper half of the 2nd tier of SEC Teams, and more than capable of winning a game like this, which at -1.5 is all they're being asked to do. They should outhustle and outmuscle a shallow, beat up and injured LSU squad, which ought to be enough to easily win by a deuce. Just sorry I didn't get you guys on this when they were actually a dog.More to follow...

It's a PK @ RB.

Both Hawaii and TV pay the NFL millions for the game - thus the NFL is NOT going to want to shut down the game. The recent speeches are just the NFL trying to cover themselves. The players have millions to lose with an injury - ask robert edwards for those who think they should do flag football. I don't care what the comish and or Peyton Manning says they are NOT going to lay it out on the line for this game. What your going to see is more of a coaches and ref compromise. The coaching staff will be told to run more running plays and WR screens and the skill players will be told to run 4 yards and fall down at first contact. The refs are not ever going to stop the clock and they are going to mark the ball ready for play a good 5 seconds before it's ready. My guess is you see a 70 point game that would/should have been 100.
Yup, I'll be betting the under. Current line of 85 is a reaction to the last 2 years.
Agreed...wonder when RB will have a line up
Sportsbook has 85.5. Gonna add some more to the U

TCU leads the B12 in scoring defense and six times have failed to get their own score out of the 40s.TCU vs. West Virginia u116 -110330/300

Butler has now won 13 in a row but is listed as the underdog tonight at LaSalle. After the miracle buzzer beater late Saturday night against the Zags on national TV they go on the road for one game with a look-ahead at home against Temple on Saturday night. Butler’s last three wins came without their leading scorer, guard Rotnei Clarke. LaSalle is more than able to exploit the advantage in the backcourt, having turned over their conference opponents an average of 19.5 times per game. The situation demands a play IMO.LASALLE -2 -120

Blue Jackets starting Steve Mason in goal tonight. That puts the under in question there as Bobrovsky has been playing great. I don't exactly trust Phoenix to be the team to light up Mason though.

Limited sample size, but only 10/30 teams are averaging +2.5 goals per game. With most lines still hovering +5 OU, we should be playing unders across the board until the trend changes.

looks like you moved the line down to 84 at RB. :excited: I have a teaser open with Over 79 and just punched a bet for Under 85.5 (-110) at SB.

one of those games that you see the line and you don't understand why. I had booked Lasalle already. Why do i feel like the fish thats gonna be dinner for bigger fish. Maybe I should go bowling instead of fishing. Wheres Donnie and The Dude?

LSU played without senior guard Charles Carmouche (knee) in its nine-point loss to Georgia. Carmouche averages 9.9 points, is 7th in the SEC in assists (3.9), and 4th in the SEC in steals (2.1). LSU shot 36 percent from the floor and had more turnovers (21) than field goals (18).Carmouche is questionable for tonight's game.

Nice hit Brong on Sloane.I caught it just before bed and decided to stay up to sweat it out with you.
Thanks GB Bender and Co.She's going to do it again tonight. Kid is confident and unafraid and last night's win against her hero will only buoy her. Seemed totally collected post-match, however, knows there's a lot more to do. This reminds me of when Sampras busted down the door at the US Open. Young enough to not really feel all the pressure and good enough to realize they can now beat anybody. Good value again tonight...which may be the last time. KAPOLEI, Hawaii -- Ripping off jokes like he was doing the opening monologue on Saturday Night Live, Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning was feeling it Tuesday evening. He was back where he belongs, in front of his peers, here at the Pro Bowl, right in his element.

Yet as Manning stood in front of a ballroom full of the NFL's best players (30 of whom, as he pointed out, are at the game for the first time), Manning wasn't just being funny during this welcome meeting. He also had a very sharp message.

"The past two years, the play in this game has been unacceptable," Manning said. "If it was a walkthrough, your coach would say it was a bad walkthrough. And that's why (the league) could try to cancel this game."

When practices begin Wednesday, there is expected to be a very different tone, especially emanating from the AFC's team, in the wake of much public discourse about the future of the NFL's All-Star game.

Commissioner Roger Goodell has made it clear that the current quality of the game doesn't meet the league's standard, and a rewarding week enjoyed by the NFL's best players is in jeopardy. The players now recognize there's one way to fix this.

"It's simple," Broncos cornerback Champ Bailey told NFL.com. "Just play hard. Like you do on a Sunday. If you do that, the rest will take care of itself."

Whether that's enough to truly save this game (and, perhaps as importantly, this event) remains to be seen. But if ever there was a year in which the right formula to save the Pro Bowl was in place, this might very well be it.

Manning and Bailey are two of just 10 players in NFL history to make 12 or more Pro Bowls. Manning has the most Pro Bowl berths among quarterbacks, and Bailey has the most among defensive backs. And it just so happens that their current coach, John Fox, has been assigned to coach the AFC this week.

Fox and Manning met over beers Sunday evening, with NFC quarterback Eli Manning also present, to discuss their intent to take things up a notch (or three) during practices. And since both men are very capable of balancing a good time with some hard work, they might very well be the right people to pull this off.

Bailey, for one, was glad Manning also addressed it with both the AFC and the NFC present in the ballroom Tuesday, setting an expectation for the week.

"(Manning's talk) meant a lot because I think we do get over here and get relaxed," Bailey said. "The sense of urgency leading up to the game isn't there. It takes something like that to get you going, to understand the importance of it. I get it. We should play hard."

While some fans might continue to dismiss this rallying cry as a pointless effort to keep alive a game that doesn't satisfy the masses, this is much more about an internal desire among players to sustain a tradition that's important to some veterans, like Manning.

As Manning noted during his speech, his weeks at the Pro Bowl have afforded him the chance to play with seven players already in the Hall of Fame and six coaches who have won Super Bowls, all of which has benefitted him in his career.

"Peyton said it best," Bailey said. "The players who have played in this game are in the Hall of Fame. If they get rid of this game, guys are going to miss out. You won't even know who you played against because you never get a chance to meet them. It's good for that reason and many others."

Manning's talk on Tuesday was directed very specifically toward the players in the room -- not toward the public masses. It was intended to be heard by rookies like quarterbacks Andrew Luck and Russell Wilson and young defensive players like J.J. Watt. Those are the players who will be around for the next decade. Those are the guys that would be carrying this tradition forward.

Maybe it's a good thing many of these faces are new to this game, because the quality of play last year truly was terrible, as many players agreed.

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, for one, was disgusted by the lack of intensity in that game. While his knee is giving him enough issues to provide a legitimate reason for him to sit this year out, last year's experience certainly didn't help. It's also a reason why Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson said he plans to play hard this year -- so hard that he'd like to be the game's MVP.

So without question, the tone has been set. Will it matter? Will it be enough to convince Goodell to keep the game in Hawaii for years to come? We'll see. But if this indeed is the last Pro Bowl, these players plan on making it a good one.

"It's a really nice atmosphere, and it's great for relaxing," Bailey said. "But you've got to understand why you're here, and I think guys have gotten away from that, for whatever reason.

"We've got to get back to the way it should be."

So U85 is the play?

Betting market agrees, opened afc +3, afc is now favored. Moving off 3 in this game not a big deal but still a 4 pt move already.

Blue Jackets starting Steve Mason in goal tonight. That puts the under in question there as Bobrovsky has been playing great. I don't exactly trust Phoenix to be the team to light up Mason though.
Under is now at -130, I don't think the Columbus goalie matters. Columbus needs PP goals and the Yotes are particularly good on the PK.

Tried to tail this. Misentered and took Calgary/Vancouver u 5.6 (Kurt gives me free tenths now when going under the hook) -125 instead. The more I look at it I think this is a decent wager so I guess I will let it ride. Thoughts from the in house hockey gurus?

Georgia +15.5 Possible letdown spot for the gators after the beatdown they put on Mizzou. Add the ### whoopin they laid on UGA two weeks ago (which I lost), and I think they come in overconfident. Too many points.YTD 10-14

I think this is a decent bet, I think we see good Schneider tonight. I would have shopped the lines looking for 5.4 though, but that's me.

last 4 matchups have all gone under and nothing has really changed much for either team.Canucks offense hasn't really clicked yet and the Flames are usually only one line deep so easier to shut down. Both goalies very capable of giving up 2 or less.I'm not playing just b/c I don't trust Kipper right now but I think Schneider will bounce back and this one probably winds up 3-1 or 3-2.
