FFA Wagering Thread: THERE HE IS!@! (4 Viewers)

going to go with NFL teaser of:

Was +9

Cincy +8.5

SD +8

not based off of much, just for the hell of it. Actually, not really based off of anything because I don't even know who the back-up QBs are for Cincy and SD. Actually, now that i think about it the Chargers OL is already horrendous, so may take something the other way there too

Sign me up for the Cubs +145 too. i think Hamels will pitch well but Papelbon is a bum (always thought he was, now he really is showing it), and even if Hamels can get a lead for the Phils i don't know if they can hold it

I've been working on a 20-page report all day with the girls in my group. It's our last assignment of the summer. I took a look at the lineup and it looks like Mike Scioscia got Chris Iannetta the hell out of there. Hank Conger is in. He has only allowed 23 stolen bases compared to Iannetta's 71. I'm just going to go o8 -105. I didn't cap it but you got Timmons in there who is 14-7 O/U this year.

Chain,

A) Why did JJohnson look like it was 2009 again?
Dude, I didn't even watch the game and I have no idea. You nailed the line movement though. You nailed that #### for sure. My tin-foil hat conspiracy theory is that Felix was pissed with the lack of run support shown to him and Iwakuma and just said #### it. ESPN said it was the second time this season Johnson didn't allow a run and, "It was just a small little adjustment I made and it made a world of difference," Johnson said.

Sup fellas...

Did I miss any good Umpire Chat tonight?
Nah man. I posted some 8 star Roentgenium NCAA locks. Mo posted a "F it" NFL Preseason teaser. I commented on the VH1 TV schedule. And then everyone else kind of just packed it in.
Yeah, a nice kick in the balls getting excited to catch a little NFL and then realizing the games are on tomorrow and not tonight. I was wondering why nobody else had any plays for the preseason action :bag:

5dimes has David Toms at 930/1 to win the PGA. He's old, but he's won the PGA before and finished fourth in the US Open just last year and finished 13th at the Masters this year. Sure, he's missed 6 cuts and made 8 this year, but he finished 16th in Reno last weekend and at 930/1 he's worth a shot.

Possible. Felix pitched a gem on 8/1 @ Boston (7 INN, 6H, 1ER, 2BB, 8 SO) and left with a 7-1 lead. Pen blows in the 9th giving up 6, losing 8-7. That can't make you happy with your teammates either.

Reminds of MadBum from SF last year in the World Series. He really struggled to finish the season, they watched some video and fixed a minor thing in his windup. In game 2, he gave up only 2 hits in 7 innings. Might be value in Johnson going forward if he is finally back.

Good luck on the paper man. Would have tailed you here, but lazy betting for me tonight. Grabbed a thing or 2 randomly out of boredom. Luckily one of those was the Cubs figuring the bullpen would blow it for Cole (thought it would be Papelbon, but Garcia was good enough), and followed along with tjn on Houston (:fingers crossed)

Thanks dude. I saw where you hit that fat number on the Cubbies. And I know you hate betting against your team. I always think about that whenever I bet against them like with ATL the other day. Atlanta has been hitting you hard bro! First the hometown boys and now they are beating down that Nats win total for you.

Yeah, I'm preparing to take a hit with the Nats. I have not done great the last 2 NFL seasons for the first quarter of the season either, so I am hoping to ride that through and balance it all out with some lucky hits here or there. Killer is that the MMA plays usually prop me up with everything else i bet, but i am pretty sure i am down with those plays for the the year (stupid Overem and Rashad from back in the beginning of the year). Will be the first year i have ever been negative betting MMA, hoping I can find the groove with all of these UFC cards coming up soon

ETA: forgot i took the NYY-CWS over today after you posted the stat about CC, was happy to see it White Sox tie it up in the 9th, and make up for the Astros bullpen screwing around again

A few props I just played on the PGA.

Rory finishing position under 30.5 -115 to win unit

Phil finishing position under 18.5 -130 to win unit

Martin Laird and BVP to miss cut, both +150 wagering 1/2 unit on each.

Edit: Bill Haas now down to 35/1. Nelson....HAHA! Threw down 5 bucks on the Vijer to win 1250.
any of the match-ups look good to you golf guys? i love putting some of these in and watching them go while i waste away at work

I'm still seeing 930/1.
He's in the tourney and teeing it up. He has a chance. The long bombs I'm in on. Vijer already posted earlier at 250/1. D.A. Points 300/1. Hideki 100/1. Haas 85/1. Furyk 60/1. Mahan 40/1 and Rory 35/1.

I think your my little good luck charm MO.

Kuchar over serge. :moneybag: sergee shot a nice 1 under but koochie koochie koo got to 3

Siem over BVP :moneybag: Bvp with an avalanche of strokes. Bodes well for the BVP miss cut bet +150

BLixt +.5 over Choi. :moneybag: Hardly needed the 1/2 stroke as he won 8-0

Stallings over Kokrack. :moneybag: Stalling huge lead all round and squeaks by in the end bogeying 4 of his last 5.

Keegs over Tigger. :moneybag: Both were 1 under playing last hole. Mr. Egger to the rescue.

Rory on fire to start, looking good to win over kaymer.

Merrick behind early in their match by 2 but they have only played a few holes.

Puig is hitting .385 versus fastballs this season, and that includes a .425 batting average versus fastballs of 93-plus mph. Carlos Martinez throws a fastball 79.5% of the time and his fastball has averaged 97.0 mph exactly this season in relief. He strikes guys out above average at 22.5% (league average is 19.8%). And he induces ground balls at 62.5% (league average is 44.6%). The Cardinals have never seen Ryu and they dont hit lefties (.687 OPS, 22nd) as good as they hit righties (.766 OPS, 5th).

The one thing I noticed about the KC game is that the LHP basically came out of nowhere and shut them down on Tuesday and they face another lefty tonight.

:hifive: this was a beautiful site when i checked mid-afternoon. I could become a fan of golf with days like these. I'm up for pressing our luck again tomorrow if you find anything you like

Have you ever used the SDQL? Google it - was reading about the guys who created it and not sure how valuable it is. It's a database where you can query whatever parameters you want - team/dog/previous games etc
Okay so I tried this thing out. Keeping in mind they are facing an extreme ground ball pitcher I put in a query of Dodgers games in which they had 12 or more ground balls and it came out to:

SU: 20-15 (0.11, 57.1%) avg line: -102.9 / -107.9 on / against: +$479 / -$651 ROI: +11.7% / -15.4%
Code:
Runs Hits Errors Walks Strike Outs Ground Balls Fly Balls Team LOBLAD 4.1 8.7 1.0 2.8 7.7 13.3 3.9 6.6Opp 4.0 8.7 0.4 2.7 7.0 10.6 5.4 7.0
Not making any bets, just trying out the SQDL. Is 12 a good number? I'm open to suggestions and I think I got a little grasp on how to use the database.

Here it is if anyone wants to play along: link

It will be really late tonight or early morning, but i will have some plays i'm sure.

I forgot how dumb sportsbook can be with the limits. I just spent 10 min trying to be able to bet $50 on a team total tonight and got shot down "because it's a football prop bet, and you have been cut to $1 at this time".

Jesus Christ, it took me all of 2.5 minutes to have to turn off ESPN because of Bermann and the rest of the idiots on these shows. I don't have high hope for Fox Sports channel because i think they will eventually succumb to this idiocy, but hopefully we can at least a few weeks of fresh air
