FFA Wagering Thread: THERE HE IS!@! (4 Viewers)

Teasing preseason dogs have to be the way to go....right?
That's always been the smart play, yes.
not sure if this would apply for the last one tonight though. one think i think about with pre-season is basing teams on their OL, and if the 1st string OL is banged up and a shambles then the back-ups could be even worse. might be a little more of a determining factor then the quality of the skill positions. but of course this is pre-season, and it is way too easy to overthink these games and try to rationalize what will happen.

and a good lesson is also not assuming since a home team is down by more then a TD that taking them in the 2nd half makes sense :bag:

Lesson 2: Remember that this is preseason football, and that you probably do not need to bet on every single game on the first day with more than 1 game :bag: . This also includes betting 1st Q, 1st half, and halftime lines too.

Every year I look forward to preseason football. And then every year I remember how dreadful preseason football is.
:goodposting: Probably will need to bump RN's posting here for the next few weeks. I think it is compounded by the fact that there is nothing else on TV. For me, hearing the faux excitement (well maybe it is genuine) of the guys on the NFL channel or the already eluded to Gruden makes it twice as painful. They need to pull Berman into the booth for one of these and really test to see how diehard NFL fans are and how far they can push the fans before it becomes truly unwatchable.

The one good thing about preseason may be covers.com though. I haven't checked in awhile, but I am sure there has to be some guys over there that put way too much on a game and end up cursing up a 3rd string player that no one has, or never will, hear about.

ETA: speaking of which, F Brady Quinn. You guys have 1st down on SD 14 and your mother f'ers can barely move the ball? C'mon MAN!!!

ETA2: Alright Quinn, we're back on good terms. Hit theb 1st half line of Sea -1 harder then i should have

ETA: I mainly bought it to study the replays of every game closely. I want to unearth the next Victor Cruz.

Somebody else told me that this morning, but he's a Steelers fan so I didn't pay much attention to it.

Holy hot damn is the golf hot in here or what!!?!! If bill haas wins this week I may hang up the rubber spikes like elway. Woo!!

He's got a chance at -2. At this juncture, anybodys got a chance with the numbers that can be posted if keeping it out of the rough. Tiger very much in it still at 1 over imo......but, looking back at 2003 and yesterdys round, this course does not fit his eye well. I can liken it to days when i played 4 times a week and friends would say they wanted to play LBV at Disney. I'd always be salivating, as i knew the course thoroughly and pretty much always played well there. Just had a confidence level there that i could make scores just by playing the course a certain way(within myself). Anyway, 3rd round mathcups.

Mixed feeling here so going with a round robin.

Kuchar over Stricker -120

Haas over Stenson +105

Donald over Speith -140

Mickelson over Scott even

by 2's, 3's, and 4

Woodland -.5 strokes over Ramsay -125

Chris Wood -.5 strokes over Chapell -105

Stanley over Delaet +120

Takes notes.... go on...

FWIW, teasing dogs worked well last night ( except for TB)

One I cant figure out for tonight. Every media report I have read has discussed how the Patriots and Eagles have conducted joint practices this whole week and how the Patriots are marching up and down the field with Brady going 7-8 throws in a row without and incomplete.

Tonights game started at Phi -4 (The only game at 4 and not 2-3.5). How is it that Phi is even favored? Think Chip will keep the starters out longer?

Radwanska -260. Errani has never beat Radwanska on a synthetic court. That she has advanced this far on hard court is a shock but the buck stops with the lovely Polish Princess.

I think it has alot to do with the QB situations, NE's recent lack of success in preseason, and coaching. Brady will probably get a handful of attempts, so you're probably looking at 3+ quarters of Mallett and Tebow. Belichek is 3-5 in the preseason over the last couple of years. Philly is 7-1, admittedly with a different coach, but I assure you Chip will want to win more than Belichek. Mallet hasn't done anything special in the preseason and is a big wild card. Tebow is Tebow. In Philly, you kind of have QB 1a, 1b and 2a (all at different levels of mediocre, but they should all be good enough to move the ball here). Remember, some thought that Barkley had a chance to be a starter about a month ago. I do not care for Barkley at all, but in this offense he could be solid. The RB's for Philly are pretty solid. I'm sure Mccoy won't play much, but Brown showed he could move the ball, Felix Jones has been there before, and I think Chris Polk could be a preseason star. I'm not much of a defensive guy, so I can't comment there on either side. Philly has the depth and type of players that could make them undefeated in the preseason again this year, especially with Chip's desire to win here. On the other hand, Belichek has shown that he does't care much in preseason and I don't expect much more than 2-2 from that team, consistent with recent history. This being said, I don't think I've ever bet a preseason game and may never do so, but I can see why the line is what it is.

yeah I guess all of that makes sense.

I really like Brown as well. Too bad he couldn't keep it together in college, he may have been a good one. I was surprised he didn't get a real chance at K-State.

Everyone is talking about B Pierce as being the best handcuff in the NFL I really like him) but I think Brown is in the discussion as well. If Shady did get hurt I suspect Brown would put up numbers as well.

Wow, I thought Brown just fizzled out at Tennessee, didn't even remember he went to K-state.

I'm laughing, because if they had a preseason Super Bowl, I swear I think Philly would win. Regular season, not so much.

I'm home sick from work, bored, baseball has been treating me well, thanks for starting this discussion you sonofagun.

Hey man good luck with that. Hopefully Brady is on the pine after the first 5 min.

I wonder what people have been seeing with Patriots at these open practice. The total for week 1 is down to 50.5. I got a rack on the under 52

In his past nine starts, Kazmir is 4-0 with a 1.93 ERA with a BAA of .173. The Angels are 10-19 versus LHP this season, worst in the AL (Astros are 10-18 versus LHP this season).

NFL preseason 3-0 (+3.40)

You know, if you would have told me last week that I would solve preseason football, I would've said you were crazy. Now let's push this giant ball of oil out of this window.

Texans/Vikes o35.5 -110
