FFA Wagering Thread: THERE HE IS!@! (6 Viewers)

anyone know when SB posts their NFL money lines? I need to place this free bet tomorrow :oldunsure:
My lord you made it thru the entire weekend without using this thing? What kind of degenerate are you? I can't make it more than 5 minutes without using my free bets after I deposit.

Did some shopping this AM.

Cinci +3.5/Tenn +13 120/300

BG +3.5/Tenn +13 120/300

Utah St +3.5/Tenn +13 120/300

If anyone sees Stanford at +3.5 anywhere let me know. I'm going to make the same play.

I know this the wrong place to put this, but I am more comfortable with you ####s than anywhere else.

My son just verbally committed to play baseball at TCU, with a very generous scholarship offer. He's a sophomore, right handed pitcher, throws low 90's. Am I stupid?
How does this work if he's only a sophomore? Can he sign the offer and get the scholarship now and lock it in?

Either way congrats

Baseball has some screwy rules with scholarships...only 13.2 allowed per team or something...so they give alot of partials to split it up. I know TCU ain't cheap.....is he exposing you to any risk by committing early?
NCAA Div I schools get 11.7 full scholarships to divide among 30 players. The minimum scholarship they can offer a kid is 25%. Typical roster is going to have some players with almost full scholarships and some with very little or no scholarship. There are also academic scholarships (offered to athletes) which I believe aren't held to the same standards/requirements as the general populace. I have yet to explore those, so I don't know much about them yet.

There isn't really any risk in committing early, other than the possible regret that a better offer may come along. In our case, I don't see that happening. My son asked, "If the prettiest girl in school asks you to dance, why wait on the ugly girls?"

Good deal.

It helped that I was travelling and I didn't have a strong lean on any of the NFL games.
Plus, my normal unit size is $20; so $500 is intimidating :excited:

OK I'll allow this excuse.....now we've got 25+ CBB games tonight....pick one on TV and use that freeplay.

I should make a thread for this, but what did I miss about pay per view movies? I just went through the list on comcast and half the movies are $16! What happened to $5-6-7?

Lots of game sitting on the key number of 3 this weekend. I count 7 just in the 1 & 4PM windows, with various vig amounts. I know we like to tease +0.5 - 2.5 up through 3,4,7 and -8.5-7.5 down through 7,4,3.

Does sitting on three change anyone's mind for the dogs vs. the traditional 0.5 - 2.5? Favorites, as a rule, must go under 3 for me no matter what.

Not sure if it's a good bet but sometimes I like to tease the faves to +3.5...I figure if they lose it's likely to be by a FG

I think those are the porns
I was wondering what the hunger games was all about.
Usually when the cost is that much it's an actual purchase, so as long as you have comcast you will be able to watch it on your, tv or internet device(at least that is the way it is with FIOS) rather then just a 24-48hr rental window.

If you have DirecTV, could be those movies that they are allowed to rent via PPV that are still in the movies (usually indie-type flicks).

UMass -5

Georgia Tech -2

Notre Dame +7.5
Bovada:

[2u] Ferrell (ind) Over 2 made 3s -120

Vonleh (ind) Under 10.5 rebs -130

[3u] Rice (ill) Under 8 rebs -130

Golden (gt) Under 13pts -120

Newbill (psu) Under 16.5p -130

White (iowa) Under 18.5p+r -125

[2u] Grant (nd) Over 13.5p -110

White (fsu) Over 6.5 rebs -110

Big day.
in for 1/5 of a unit per unit
These are quite a bit stronger than your nfl props, you should bet multiple units. Sportsbook hasn't offered them since we were cashing at about an 80% clip a couple years ago. at the Rice line.
you mean they are easier to exploit, and easier to make if u know what ur doing?

Good point. Forgot about that possiblity.

Cincinnati +3.5 (Tail Chainsaw)
Stanford +3 -105
Fresno State/Utah State OVER 60
Duke +28.5 1.5u

I think Stanford is going to be physical vs ASU and push them around in the second half. I might actually take ASU in the first half though, we'll see.

I'm betting the Fresno overs like I would bet the Pens overs two years ago, I don't think they can stop anyone and their offense is really stout. Utah State plays good D and is run first, but I can see Utah State scoring on 4 play 75 yard drives on three runs and a pass. Might not be over at half like last week, but I think it goes over pretty easy.

That's too many points for Duke, too many. I don't think they'll win but I think they can hang for 2+ quarters and not let the game get out of hand. I think that half a point is key, not sure I'd bet it at 28 because FSU probably gets some 4th qtr scores to pull away.

Will probably be on Mizzou ML also but was hoping that line would go up, so I'll wait. Ref has me re-thinking the ASU/Stanford under, but I'm still considering it.

Yes. I believe that somebody who knows what they are doing in NFL or CFB props would be expected to win about 55-62% of the time, on average. Somebody that knows what they are doing in college hoops (given the lines that SB and Bodog put up) would be expected to win about 60-66%. I'd have to look back, but a couple years ago we were between 70-80% in CBB. Lines are just brutal, especially the first month or so when they largely just use the players averages as the line, not factoring in anything else at all.

Layman (md) Under 15.5p -115
Smotrycz (md) Over 7r -125
[2u]Harris (uva) Under 15.5p -130
Paige (unc) Over 2.5 made 3s -120
[2u]Harris (msu) Over 15.5p -120

Just posted this in the CFB thread, but Bovada is offering a line on the BCS Exact Matchup Odds

FSU vs. OSU -175

FSU vs. Auburn +300

FSU vs. Mizzou +325

Any other Matchup +1000

I fully expect FSU to win...but +1000 on what essentially shakes out to be Duke ML seems like pretty good odds, right?

You should just bet duke at +2750 at 5dimes

"5-0 College Hoops CA$H BONANZA - And tonight I am not going 2-0 or 3-0 or 4-0 I AM GOING 5-0!" I AM SURE OF IT. Buy Now $15
I just now received this email, marked urgent. I am having trouble containing myself. 5-0 is certainly a bonanza and I can use the cheddar. Anyone want to split the 15 with me???

Interesting thing about the GT/ILL game last night GT went on a 19-7 run in the final 7mins of the 1st half after being down 26-17 to lead 36-33. GT also went on a 19-4 run to end the game after trailing 60-48 to win 67-64.

and if he can't I would just pass at +1000.

and I'm someone who does likes Duke plus the points.

I am on Portaland ML -140 this evening against OKC, going back to the well with Portland after they came through for me against the Pacers. It is crazy to think that they are 15-3 and 2 of the loses were @ PHX.

Winston announcement on whether he will be charged or not coming tomorrow at 2:00.
What do you think? I could see it going either way.
I think this is a "no guts, no glory" play. I'm still getting the same odds I posted the other day. If you're playing this, you obviously need your action in before he's charged and the odds on everyone else are changed.

Lynch looks to be the consensus second at this point per the ESPN link someone posted earlier: http://espn.go.com/college-football/heisman/index

Thoughts?
