The more I think about it Benson should have ended that guy. He is lucky the judges gave him the split decision. And the whole hair thing - you literally have a guy hanging off your back yet you still take the time to bring the hair back out of your face. Nah, that's ridiculous. I can't get into that.

Update on the game time temp for the Super Bowl. WSI weather service now shows NY as 40/29 on gameday. 39/22 day before and 37/28 day after. This will change repeatedly between now and the game, but the steady below normals NYC was looking at for next sunday has changed over the last couple days. I still think the cold may materialize/hang around and will continue to monitor. Like i tell the meteorologists on our trade floor all the time --its the weather, you can't really predict that s***.

Pretty cool site here of the Pro Bowl history: http://www.mmbolding.com/BSR/The_1979_Pro_Bowl.htm

That was the first year the players wore their own helmets to the game. If you scroll to the bottom and click back one year to 1978, you'll see they used to wear "N" and "A" helmets.

I started loving the Pro Bowl when I was a kid because of all the different helmets. It just looked ridiculously cool. There was camaraderie, conference pride and the players actually gave a damn. I looked forward to the Pro Bowl more than the Super Bowl. The game is a complete JOKE now, which makes me profoundly sad.

Closer than it should have been but 1h full unit cashes!
:hifive:

I tailed that one, but that's it for me
Nice, i'll follow suit on the Detroit under.

Spo decided it was a good idea to run the offense through a rusty DWade for the 1st half of the 2nd quarter. Miami-who scored 32 1q points, had 5 points through 7 minutes in the 2nd. SA scored enough to keep it close and Miami closed strong to cash. Without Danny Green, Kawhi Leonard and Tiago Splitter I figured the 4 was a good number to fade SA at. We'll see if I was correct there...but a good start.

I'm feeling pretty good about my NBA "feel" right now. Obviously this is stupid. Expecting an 0 - for - February run.

I'm going to OVER* live bet LAL/NY anything that falls under 210. Doubt we'll see that number, just a marker to look out for.

ETA 205.5 in

Went 20 normal units on the Broncos -2.5 in Vegas. So, let's go Peyton.

Nice little day yesterday, 3-1 on Xavier, Cuse, Nova, and the South. Bet on Greyhounds for the first time, so ridiculous and awesome. Think the race might have lasted 30 seconds.

First time really betting heavy in a Vegas book, we were at the MGM Grand. It's so criminal that this is not legal elsewhere in the US, but it is pretty awesome once you get there and saddle up with some bet slips. People just going nuts and high five-ing each other when a favorite covers is a pretty cool experience. Like the old school sheets too for the day's odds by sport, has a certain jene sais quoi about sitting down with a pen and paper going over the odds. Definitely trying to go back for an NFL Sunday with a full slate of games at some point, I feel like it would just be total sensory overload.

I like this whole post besides the first line.

Only time I've been to Vegas was a Saturday-Tuesday in late October...was definitely a blast watching all the early games

We had the wives with us so we had to go wander around during the afternoon games but I remember standing around to watch the last few minutes of a NYG/Dallas game near one of the casino bars. At first there were just a few people then it was like 10 rows deep and people were going nuts

FYI this was the game Dallas almost covered late but Dez had a fingernail out of bounds on a late catch...damn near gave me a heart attack
