FFA Wagering Thread: THERE HE IS!@! (2 Viewers)

Hey guys, I'm running a NCAA bracket that's based in winning against the spread. $20.50 per entry. Check out the thread for details. Frosty won it last year.

It's a lot of fun.

I have 5 preseason futures bets ... all of them made the tournament :IBTL: none of them will win  thinking of adding Louisville for a hundo seems fun.
I have Iowa State 100-1, Wichita 80-1(should have bet more on this one), Wiscy 50-1

Nice that they all ended up in different regions. Wichita State is ####ed, possibly kentucky in round 2 and then louisville in round 3 with duke and michigan at the bottom of the bracket.

footy

Italy

under 2.5

AS Roma/Udinese

Roma is 10w3D and 0 losses at home.

They have allowed only 2 goals at home :o

I'm aiming for a 2-0 win hopefully.

over 2.5

Torino/Napoli

So I finished +6.6u on player props for the pre-tournament year. Disappointed since at one point I was up in the +20s, but I'm happy with a profitable year since this was my first time doing this seriously. I also played a decent amount of half unit bets that I didn't track that I think did well overall (which I'm sure is what everyone thinks so I'll be sure to track those next year). Learned a lot, thanks to a lot of you here, as well. Kind of went off the rails when bovada started offering the huge amount of props and my cards ballooned, but will use that for learnings for next season. Thanks to all who followed and offered input and encouraging words, and thanks to goo roo for reminding me that no matter what the numbers look like there are guys like Marshall Henderson who you just don't ever fade (Shabazz Napier has reached this point for me). Hopefully I can have a good tournament and win some more money. Guessing there are going to be an awful lot of props offered. Get some.
Good work. Thank you.

Who is the jag that schedules the Lakers and the Clippers to go to Denver on B2B. It's nuts - five of seven games the LA teams have gone from home to Denver it has been on B2B since 2012. But the Clippers have four days of rest after tonight. I was wondering what Nuggets would do in their first home game after being away for five games, but they are actually 5-0 SU and ATS in that spot since 2007. The UNDER went 4-1 in those, but I like what happened the last time the Lakers went to Denver and the o229 hit by 31 points. The Nuggets beat the Clippers in Denver 116-115 in their last meeting on Feb 3, so you have the revenge angle with the Clippers plus their four days off after tonight so not going to fade the Clips.

Over 218 105/100

Anyone in for a FFAWT quarters pool?
yep
Ok guess I'm in
So i looked tat the spreadsheet someone posted. How exactly does the money add up.

So if you have Flor and they win in the first round you get certain amout of money and everyone else loses oney?
on a .25 pool, you win (1) quarter from the 7 other people with a FLORIDA win.

A 12 seed wins in RD one you get (12) quarters from the other 7 people

RD2...the steaks double....then triple....then you get the pt

thanks so could be done with any amount of people really 6,8,10. Just more or less payouts

8 is ideal, cause 8 players each draft 8 NCAA teams.

in theory, you could do a 6-team, 10-round draft. has any #1 seed ever lost in round 1? excluding those 16 seeds in each bracket wouldn't impact much.

Bracket Talk: having a hard time with Baylor v Nebraska...thoughts?
said couple weeks ago Im sticking with Nebraska is they make it and will hold true.
Yeah I thought they've been playing well but I was fading Baylor all last week and that didn't work out so well as they seem be playing good themselves

I think Creighton is a fairly weak 3 too so I think whoever comes out of that game can make a nice run

right if 6 then some of the 16 seed wouldnt get picked.

I've done a work draft before and thats what we do. quarters seems like an improvement over just a standard snake draft and money paid out accordingly.

GooRoo, what do you think about Westbrook under 35.5 P/R/A tonight?

Season averages are 21.5 pt, 7.1 asst, and 5.7 reb (34.3 total) but they are playing Chicago. Team total is 98 (vs 106 average on the year) and he is battling a knee injury (out yesterday).

I am right there with you. I have Iowa State 150-1, Wichita 80-1 and Wiscy 60-1.

Also have Iowa State 150-1, among others - heavily in Michigan State and Oklahoma State.

I haven't had a chance to look into it yet but I know Westbrook scores and rebounds better on the road for some reason. Not a small sample size either, it's like that every year. I'll look at the other variables and post it if I play it. Good luck!

When will you hold the draft? I'd probably be down - what is the normal swing +/-$200?
in the quarters pool, it's usually within +/- $100 I think unless someone does really good or really bad.

draft would have to start soon and could be done here and via email/texts.

The number of quarters you earn is independent of the seed they beat? That seems obvious, but want to confirm.

yes

it's just winning seed times the round

4 seed winning round 2 = 8 quarters from every other owner ($2 * 7 = +$14)

etc.

It's a zero sum spreadsheet where 8 people draft 8 teams each.

"Points" are then awarded based on wins in successive rounds.

How it works:

• 8 people each draft 8 teams (serpentine, randomly generated order).

• You get points based on the seed # times the round of the tournament, so if you have a 12 seed win a 2nd round game, you get 24 points.

• It is a zero sum game, so if you win a point, you win $1.75 and everyone else loses $0.25

• Cash settlements are due via Paypal within 1 week of the end of the tournament. If you do not have Paypal please do not join.

• I will organize the payouts to minimize the number of transactions.

At the end of the tourney we settle up via PayPal

LHUCKS is not allowed to play..neither is Linus Scrimmage

DRAFT DETAILS (proposed):

BEGINS: As soon as 8 people are rolled. No later than Tuesday at 9:00 AM but hopefully we can get some picks started today.

CLOCK: There will not be a clock unless one is needed. If need be, we'll assess this on Tuesday night.

LAG CLAUSE: Please do not hold up the draft. It is understandable that we are all on different schedules but if you are scheduled to be up soon and you know you may be unavailable please send a pick list to someone in the draft.

I just noticed my name on the list.

Sure I'm game.

Just going by their record v top-25 teams this season, I chose a team from each side of the bottom of the bracket, taking Virginia 150/1800 and Duke 100/1700. Just posting for posterity and hoping to get an opportunity to do something with them later on.

rolled a 312

I'll do quarters if another spot opens.
Swirv never mentioned he wanted in and we should be get rolling, so slot yourself in his spot. So everyone send me the rolls as per that last post, and someone give me an address to send my roll to. Then we can start drafting.
