FFL - owners quitting due to NFL Boycott (1 Viewer)

I'm sure it would be fairly easy to find someone on this board to take over the teams.  If not, just have the commish(you) put in their best lineups every week you don't play them and ask someone to put it in when you do.

what are people irate/boycotting about? Players kneeling/linking arms/staying in the locker room for the anthem?
I think they've finally had it with a league that has all but acquiesced to various forms of domestic violence, promotes players with violent histories and no desire to change their ways; has done what it can to hide the facts and dangers of concussions and other health problems in a never ending search for profits and continually shows inconsistency in how and when they apply rules against teams and individuals that flaunt them.

That HAS to be it right? Cause if someone is more upset at guys protesting than the underlying issues behind that protest, their priorities seem screwed up.

And if ANY of these folks support those who wish to display 100% symbols of this nations most historic traitors (the confederate flag etc - LITERALLY took arms against our nation and flag) then we know who and what they really are at heart in terms of who and what they value.

Pretty cool to see more people getting upset over this vs. KKK and Nazi's in our streets running over people and killing them.

Keep fighting the good fight.

I'm down to 2 leagues and am watching less and less football all the time. This might be my last year in the "sport."
yeah its a combination of things for me but I'm not quitting in the middle of the season - none of this "stuff" is new.

when we start playing the anthem at movies, broadway shows, concerts, call me.  I don't need forced jingoism.  we are all americans, but I doubt we can agree on that at this point.

sadly, sports have tied the anthem directly to our military, so most of this country's sheep cant distinguish the 2 anymore.

we had a quit in our league too, a member of long standing. this was his resignation note:

sorry to leave all of you hanging in the league, but I'm done with the nfl, including fantasy sports. I watched 3 games last year and that will be 3 more games than I watch this year. they want to boycott my anthem, then I will boycott them completely. I wish all of you the best in life.
I have to chuckle at some of these idiots that are announcing an end to their "support" of the NFL...guys who never bought a PSL, never attended a game, never bought merchandise, maybe watched a few games a year max, etc. A lot of those were on their way out anyway, like your friend, or their interest has been waning for years so now they want to grandstand as though they are taking a moral stand.

Such douchebags.

I'd try to find 2 new managers to take over those teams.  If you can do that--problem solved.   If you cannot find them--then whoever the commish is should set their weekly lineups to whoever is projected to get them the highest point totals.  If either of those teams ends up winning a prize--that prize shoudl be divided amongst the 10  remaining owners. Either way--this is probably more of a shark pool forum question.
This is the correct shark pool answer.

The correct FFA answer is that those guys are morons.

So dumb. Why boycott with stuff you already paid for? What good is it to ditch FF teams and burn jerseys you paid for?

There will be a boost in sales for this stuff around week 8 when these man babies need their football fix again.

My brother (or maybe his wife, they're one of those weirdo couples that share an account) liked a video on Facebook showing some Truman Scholar of a Redskins fan burning all his team gear.

I was tempted to comment "If he was really committed to making a point he should have set fire to his clothes while wearing them."

I had two owners decide to boycott the NFL and by extension FFL. The political situation drove them to this decision. Are there other FBG's in this situation?  It's a 12 team redraft. Should we simply drop the two teams and release their rosters to waivers or try to replace?

Does anyone have an opinion on how to handle these guys?  It's a friends league so not looking for nuclear option
So these guys are fine to play when the NFL is full of wife beaters an guys with records longer than my arm but a guy silently protesting puts them over the edge??

Promise the guys at next year's draft you can all kneel first, then stand and lock arms, whatever they need to do to show respect. Moonwalk, I don't give a ####.

Punch them in the face for being dumb.

Either that or donate the money to the naacp in the team owner's name.

No surprise the posters in here who state they have friends doing this.

Birds of an ignorant feather and all that.

Ray Rice punches his GF out cold = stay

Greg Little and Dante Stallworth kill people driving drunk = stay

Adrian Peterson abuses his children = stay

Greg Hardy, Zeke Elliott, Josh Brown, Aldon Smith, Javon Belcher = stay

Protest the anthem = go

What moral fortitude.

Kneeling in silent protest. If Wendell Smallwood was out here setting a flag on fire during the anthem, or Chandler Jones was literally pooping on the field, I could kind of see their point. (even though it's not as bad as hitting your kid or beating up women).

Kneeling.

sorry for your situation, but this is honestly the funniest post i have read in sometime. people Americans are so weird

Isn't sports where we go to find refuge from all the crap in our lives we don't want to deal with. I really hate that all this is intruding on my mindless time. Where I can just enjoy myself and not think about the problems of the world. I mean I already have three of my kids trained to say, "Dad's watching the game. Let's leave him alone and go play downstairs."
