Just got done with the draft...fairly happy with how it went

From the #1 hole

1.01 - LT - no brainer here for me

2.10 - Jones-Drew - Best RB available...and I just flat out like the guy (Brees, Peyton, Romo all went before 2.10)

3.01 - Roethlisberger - painful to take him but I freaked out at all the QBs going.

4.10 - Torry Holt - best WR available

5.01 - Brandon Marshall - risky but like his upside, be nice goodell

6.10 - Tony Gonzalez - didn't wanna be stuck and TEs were going fast...think this is a good spot for him

7.01 - David Garrard - Qbs going quick wanted the option to use one in the flex...and I like Garrard this year.

8.10 - Marvin Harrision - best WR available on my board...think he'll be good to go

9.01 - Jonathen Stewart - nearly did a backflip when he was still on the board

10.10 - Hines Ward - gets into the redzone and needed some WR depth for Marshall/Marvin

11.01 - Chester Taylor - once agian BACKFLIP

12.10 - Anthony Gonzalez - Harrison insurance...one of them will be a steal

13.01 - Jason Campbell - QBs flyin again has excellent bye week matchups for my other 2

14.10 - Darrell Jackson - Marshall Insurance

15.01 - Dallas D - was going to wait longer but the clock was about to run out on me

16.10 - Ryan Torain - BACKFLIP

17.01 - LJ Smith - good backup for T Gonz

18.10 - Ray Rice - shot in the dark

19.01 - Green Bay D - clock got me again

20.10 - John Kasay - tried to take James Hardy but it wouldn't let me for some reason...clock ran out and I got a Kicker

All in all I like the team couple late round RBs that could make it a real good team.

Quite a bit hinges on Marshall not being out for too long and Harrison being 80% of his old self....we shall see.

Draft Dominator says I'm the best team...thats usually a good sign for me

Hindsight I would probably have waited on TE and my second QB...oh well
Being that you needed a kicker the computer wouldn't let you leave the draft without one.

Just got done with my first draft. I wanted to see what a team would look like without taking a RB early. I feel there is a ton of RB depth across the league and that teams built on stud WR's will do very well. I tested that theory tonight and here's what I came away with.

From the 8 hole: ( I went WR WR WR first 3 picks, first time for me  )

QB-Marc Bulger

QB- Eli Manning

QB- Aaron Rodgers

RB-Ronnie Brown

RB-Lendale White

RB-Fred Taylor

RB-Deuce McAllister

RB-Kevin Jones

RB-Felix Jones

WR-Randy Moss

WR-Terrell Owens

WR-Marques Colston

WR-Donald Driver

WR-Ronald Curry

TE- Kellen Winslow Jr

TE-Donald Lee

K- Longwell

DEF- NYG, IND, MIA

If I get steady production from that group of RB's I really like this team.

Figured thats what it was...I don't need a kicker until Sep 4th though :)

I like this team if it were PPR...not so so on this scoring system however. But I certainly like the 3 you started with.

Actually got the #2 spot, not the #1 spot I thought I had when I looked at the ten team list. The guy with the #1 pick took Peterson though so I still ended up with LT2. Here's how my draft went form the #2 spot:

Seattle Stars

Rd 1 : RB LaDainian Tomlinson

Rd 2 : WR Larry Fitzgerald

Rd 3 : WR Andre Johnson

Rd 4 : RB Michael Turner

Rd 5 : QB Donovan McNabb

Rd 6 : TE Jason Witten

Rd 7 : RB Ronnie Brown

Rd 8 : QB Matt Schaub

Rd 9 : WR Santana Moss

Rd 10 : WR Laveranues Coles

Rd 11 : TDSP Chicago Bears

Rd 12 : RB Ricky Williams

Rd 13 : RB Felix Jones

Rd 14 : TE Tony Scheffler

Rd 15 : WR Donte Stallworth

Rd 16 : TDSP Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Rd 17 : RB Maurice Morris

Rd 18 : QB Trent Edwards

Rd 19 : K Adam Vinatieri

Rd 20 : WR Justin Gage

Two things I wasn't really pleased with; 1. Because picked so early I had to decide between Carson Palmer and Andre Johnson at 3.02 (Brady, Manning, Romo, Brees already gone). Decided to take AJ instead and hope for a decent QB at the 4 / 5 turn. Ended up with McNabb. 2. By the time my 6.11 pick rolled around all of the good WR's were gone so I took the first TE, Witten.

So, my starting line-up will look like this:

QB - McNabb

RB - Tomlinson

RB - Turner

WR - Fitzgerald

WR - A. Johnson

WR - Coles / S. Moss

TE - Witten

FLX - Schaub

PK - Vinatieri

D/ST - Bears / Bucs

Not the worst draft I've seen but I think I could have done better.

Finished one of my three this morning, I like this team minus my concerns over the QBs I got. This was from the #4 spot.

QB: Jake Delhomme, Aaron Rodgers, Vince Young

RB: Steven Jackson, Maurice Jones-Drew, Thomas Jones, LenDale White, Kevin Jones, Tatum Bell

WR: Andre Johnson, Anquan Boldin, Hines Ward, Ted Ginn, Darrell Jackson, Ronald Curry

TE: Kellen Winslow Jr, Marcedes Lewis

Def: Chicago Bears, Buffalo Bills

K: Jeff Reed

This looks like this is going to happen

I just found out I've got the #7 pick in my draft. Do I take Romo if he's there? (I'm assuming Brady/Manning will be gone). The format of this league is much different than any I've done before with teams being able to start 2 QB's and I'm just trying to figure out what the best strategy is.

both Manning and Romo were available at #8 in my draft, I took Moss

If you start adding up the number of teams that have signed up before the end of July, I believe 50+ leagues are already full and you have another 498 teams signed up currently, that is around 1000 entries. July is generally a slow month for fantasy and FFOC only began drafting towards the end of it, I feel pretty confident that 11000 more entries can be gathered between now and the beginning of the season. I could be wrong but hopefully I am not.

I was reading on the FFOC message board about a team that picked A. Gates and K. Winslow with their first 2 picks. I don't know if there is collusion involved, but obviously every other team is gonna be stronger in that league. I think that team's top WR was Santana Moss. I suspect the million dollar winner will come from a league that has a few really weak (and cheating?) owners.

For anyone that has already had a draft can you confirm if you have to setup your draft list for the site to allow you to enter the draft and make your picks?

Someone from the 1800 # told me that you must setup your list and rank all 200 players before the site will allow you to enter and conduct a draft. Sounds like a pain to me. Is this true?

this is not true. You do not have to setup your list before the draft. Just enter the draft room and make your picks when it's your start time.

I think this has to do with the fact that you can start 2 TEs with the flex, and that another site had an article highlighting this strategy. Probably not the best move at the 10/11 turn (where it happened), can't really fault a guy for trying it. It was the lousy drafting after that that bothered me.

Stan, who I assume is the "Commissioner," said that the entire league was being looked at, and specifically that team. Hopefully they can stay on top of every league.

Hmm I think there just might be....
So who do you like at 7? I'm a huge Cowboy fan

IIRC the three team package was for 1 team in July, 1 in August, 1 in Sept. Since today is July 31st it would seem this may be the last day for the 3-pack. They may re-package and offer something similar after today I'm really not sure. There are openings in leagues today, jump on in.

Just bought a 3 pack. Look like I am drafting tonight at 6 PM CST

Fort Silvy

ETA: one spot left in tonight's 6pm CST draft

nice work. i like the dolphins handcuff...tes are nice...wr 1/2 are strong and the qbs are good outside of garcia.gotta hope you get some strong play out of one of those secondary rbs and wrs.

surprised you didnt draft chester taylor

harry: how did your team turn out?
For a July draft and the first draft of my 3 pack I feel pretty good about this squad. Drafted last night at 6PM CST. I don't think there were any FBG in there cause there was no talking and a bunch of people did the auto draft using their 90 seconds every time. Draft took 2 hours last night, which is not bad, I just remember seeing one board members took like 90 mins. Either way I had no problems with their draft software. My Team:QB:Romo, HasslebeckRB: ADP, MJD, Kevin Smith, Felix Jones, Ahmad Bradshaw, Chester TaylorWR: Holt, Bowe, Reggie Brown, Sidney Rice, Patrick Crayton, VJaxTE: KWIII, Dustin KellerK: Dawson, HansenDef: Seattle, CarolinaI hit my limits for RB/WR early so i backfilled my D/K for the last two positions. There are a couple decent left on the WW if I wanted to trade in Car for like a TE3, but if Keller steps up that duo will suffice.Like DDodds stated earlier I wanted to make sure I got two good QB's and Romo and Hass are a pretty good base to team up with ADP, MJD, Bowe, Holt and Winsow. If Crayton can come alive, I think the Romo-PC double bubble can do some nice things as well.

So Sign up ends Sept. 4th, the drafts occur soon after a 10 league team fills? So there will be all these teams drafted in July then August then September? (I skimmed, sorry)

I believe Dodds said he talked to the "ownership" group. Care to expand DD?
As part of our interview series we will be talking with one of the owners of the FFOC. Let's make sure we ask them who is behind this.

still interested in hearing if dd has completed another team

is jb participating?
My next draft is late August. And I also draft in September.I talked to one of the owners today (Stan Misthios) and he informed me that they are very pleased with the number of signups they have in place as of today (He said over a thousand contestants as of August 1st, some with multiple teams).

Nothing is ever a given regarding these high stakes events, but I am starting to believe this one is indeed going to happen.

Draft from the 1 hole Thursday what do yopu think?

QB- Brees, Leinart Edwards

RB- L.T., K. Smith, S. Young, J. Jones, R. Williams, D. Rhodes

WR- B. Edwards, B. Marshall, P. Burress, D. Mason, N. Burleson, S. Rice

TE- J. Shockey, R. McMicheal

K - D. Akers

DST- TB Bucs, Carolina

I Like my team if a clear #2 RB appears to go with LT of the 5 I drafted and Leinart keeps his job 2 picks ahead of me someone took Warner when I planned to have the AZ QB even if leinart falters.
