in my 6th draft I got the 6th pick (which works out nicely since I had the first and second in my first and second). This one I feel worked out really well, probably the team I am most happy about.

Round 1: Marion Barber- Only Rbs went with the first 5. Sucks he has a bye week 10 but I covered that in round 3.

Round 2: Frank Gore- Couldn't believe he fell, so happy.

Round 3: Maurice Jones-Drew- Of course I comment on two other people taking backups before starters and MJD falls to the 6th pick of the third. No WRs I want, no Qbs I want.

Round 4: Ben Roethlisberger- Happy he fell

Round 5: Brandon MarshallI know I'm going to take a lot of receivers in a row to shore up that position, so I should have decent guys to plug in for his suspension.

Round 6: Jerricho Cotchery - WR2

Round 7: Dwayne Bowe- WR3

Round 8: Jake Delhomme- Qbs are going time to pick one up

Round 9: Joey Galloway- WR 4

Round 10: Ted Ginn- WR5, hard to decide between him and Crayton

Round 11: Patrick Crayton- not hard to decide when he falls. Wasn't planning on going with 6/7 picks as WRs but it worked out well.

Round 12: Heath Miller- I passed miller the past two rounds since there was only one other player without a TE and hoped he would fall.

Round 13: Todd Heap- Can't beat this, Heath miller hasn't missed a game in three years in the league and Heap has 'heaps' of upside if he stays health.

Round 14: Felix Jones- Handcuff Barber since hes still, and pretty good value on his own.

Round 15: Buffalo Bills- Since I can't take any more WRs might as well take a couple of Ds whose schedules match ok

Round 16: Carolina Panthers

Round 17: Steve Slaton-

Round 18: J.T. O`Sullivan

Round 19: Rob Bironas

Round 20: DeShaun Foster

Anyone else currently drafting?
I'm drafting another team at 10PM CST.
I am drafting at 10:00pm cst also, I'm league 452,what is yours?
I also drafted at 10:00 pm cst...I was in league 384, so they are filling a lot of drafts up in each spot now. My team out of the #9 spot:Team Red Schafer Round 1: Peyton Manning - QB is huge in a 2QB league...Manning shown enough in practice to be back in round 1 Round 2: Frank Gore - Lynch and Portis went at the turn, leaving Gore behind. Considered Brees for flex, but wanted a RB. Round 3: T.J. Houshmandzadeh - even more targets with Chad hurt? Round 4: Brandon Marshall - sky is the limit...hope the suspension goes to 1 game Round 5: Brandon Jacobs - needed to shore up RB; last one I liked Round 6: Jason Witten - No WR or RB excited me...grabbed top TE Round 7: Dwayne Bowe - I saw a big drop after Bowe Round 8: Kevin Smith - Stewart went in the turn...I wanted one of those two Round 9: Chicago Bears - big run on defenses and nothing too exciting on offense on the board Round 10: Bryant Johnson - a reach, but I love him as a breakout candidate. WR25 on my board. Round 11: Kurt Warner - Knew I was going QB/QB here. Looking for big upside in the second half of the draft. Round 12: Marc Bulger - Solid starter where Warner may not be. Round 13: Justin Fargas - Falling far in drafts, but still RB1 on Oakland depth chart. Round 14: Robert Meachem - upside pick Round 15: Felix Jones - amazed he fell this far and wasn't handcuffed. upside again. Round 16: Alge Crumpler - a mistake. I failed to see Anthony Gonzalez on the board...I searched for his name...I thought it came back empty, but I think I hit the search button at the same time a pick was made. Round 17: Kevin Walter - grabbed a WR6 that still has some upside potential Round 18: Tim Hightower - RB6 ... again ... all about upside Round 19: New York Giants - full at QB/WR/RB, so take Def depth Round 20: Mason Crosby - I take a kicker because I have to

Congrats. I had the 1 pick tonight for the first time.
What did your team end up looking like?
This is what I got. Not entirely happy with QB. Draft froze in 5th as I was trying to get Cutler loaded and auto picked Harrison. Otherwise OK. Nice team. I've had two drafts so far and LJ went in the first round in both. I wish I had a shot at him in the 3rd!I think picking #1 or #2 seems to be the best spot in FFOC as crazy value drops to the 2/3 turn if you are drafting with casual players.

FFOC has some huge issues to deal with. It's truly a lottery.

They changed the prize pool after more than a month of drafting. Many players, including myself, felt that such a move was bush league (and against the law). I withdrew, along with my 2 drafted teams. I know of others who took the same step.

Secondly the draft room has problems. Many drafts have been disrupted and those players awarded new draft times.

Thirdly money was not collected until late in August. Many were unable or unwilling to pay when the cards were finally charged.

The net of all this is that there are many "abandoned" teams. They are trying to sell them but my guess is that there are so many, and so many with bad drafts, that they will never sell. There will therefore be huge imbalances in the use of the waiver wire between competitive leagues and leagues with dead teams.

Bottom line, it's a mess.

We'll see how it goes...it's the first year and with that come some problems. If these problems are too much, then it'll be my last year. I don't like that they changed the pay format, that doesn't seem right. What did they do specifically? I saw that 2nd place gets 125 dollars but it's a credit for next year, not 125 back in your wallet. Was there more?

Tey are currently offering an overlay of a ~$800,000 (that will probably drop into the 3-500,000 range when all the teams fill) and your mad at them for restructuring while giving you a chance to withdraw without paying?

This is a legitimate concern for the fairness of the competition.

There are only 10 abandoned teams and what they did was spelled out clearly in the rules. Yes, it sucks, but there wasn't anything illegal or sneaky about it. They didn't hit their mark for teams and announced they were lowering the prize structure.

Where are you guys seeing the abandoned teams stuff? Are they selling them at a discount?

I have the first pick in the 4pm CDT draft and at first I was just going to take LT, but now I'm giving some serious consideration to AP.

They are selling them to people who already have teams. 1 team for $100, 2 for $150 and 3 for $200. There's a message about the abandoned teams in the general FFOC discussion. I didn't think any of them were that good of teams, quite frankly, I can see why some of them have been abandoned. Most of them have terrible benches.

Anybody drafting tonight at 6 CST?
Yes, I am. I'm "Get Off My Lawn", drafting from the 7 hole. What about you?
We drafted 4th. Inconceivable. We had a few issues with the timer and my bro's laptop. We ended up with Mendenhall on an auto pick and were trying to get Chris Johnson. We also were trying for Hackett and ended up with Kevin Walter on auto pick (after already having Andre Johnson). It sucks, but live and learn. It was our first FFOC draft so tonights should be a little easier. You have to be ready with your pick because the auto list of players isn't even close to the draft dominator rankings when you put the scoring system in. You will end up with someone you don't want if you aren't quick enough on the trigger. Here's our first team: DD has us ranked 2nd overall and 1st for starters. :football: We'll see.RomoAaron RodgersTrent EdwardsSteven JacksoonReggie BushMcFaddenRay RiceMendenhallLeon WashingtonAndre JohnsonSantonio HolmesChris ChambersHackettKevin WalterRobert MeachemDallas ClarkZach MillerGostowskiJeff ReedMinnesota

You realize a total of 10 teams have been abandoned. I would say you are in the very very small minority.

:goodposting: ...out of about 4-5000 teams, they've had maybe a dozen abandoned. i fully expect there to be issues this year. you dont launch something this big, from scratch, and not expect there to be problems in year 1.I agree that the faulty drafts are frustrating. But, it sounds like they are being more than reasonable in allowing people, and even whole leagues, to have a "redo".

Odd. It shows me as 1st for both overall and starters (but only by 2 pts).

It probably is one of us has one or two scoring entry issues. It could very well be me, as I had to enter the scoring info into the DD about 15 minutes before the draft started. Does yours have us (inconceivable team 4) in second behind you? Not that it really matters, but just curious.I thought the draft was pretty smooth? Just over 2 hours. There is 4 FBG's in our league? Who are the others?

Yes, you are #2 behind me in both overall and starters. I'm not sure of the others.
I think defenses and kickers are going to be interesting in this.....lots of negative points for giving up moocho points or missing fg's. Not something our normal leagues do around here.

Romo V Tom Brady

Aaron Rodgers V Drew Brees

Steven Jackson V Jamal Lewis

Reggie Bush V Edgerrin James

McFadden V LenDale White

Andre Johnson V Torry Holt

Santonio Holmes V Roddy White

Chris Chambers V Reggie Brown

Hackett V Mark Clayton/Isaac Bruce

Dallas Clark V Kellen Winslow Jr

Zach Miller V Owen Daniels

Minnesota V Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Well since 30% of our league is here might as well discuss.

As far as starters + top backup is concerned I would have to go with Inconceivable! here. The gap I see in the RBs and WR is large, especially the potential 4 spot for the WR if Hackett stays healthy. Its going to be tough for Brady, Brees + your TE to overcome what I see as a gap at every other position. Of course Inconceivable has two health Q's at WR in Andre and DJ without much depth at that position (Walter can help cover Andre but if Hackett goes down you have to start your 6th WR during Houston's bye week and choose between your 6th and Walter the other two byes).

I wanted Calvin Johnson and my bro liked Andre. We are sharing 3 teams. We should have never ended up with Walter or Mendenhall, but oh well. I would be just like FF luck that one of those auto picks happens to win a us a week. Did you think Mcgahee went waay to early? We took Minnesota's defense pretty early, and we actually were going to take them earlier. That -7 or -10 could be a killer.

I've taken Minnesota twice out of 6 drafts, once with the 6th pick in the 9th round once with the 3rd pick in the 10th. The -10 pts isn't that bad considering that most leagues start off with 10 or 20 pts and deduct for yards/pts scored. This way you start with 0 and go up or down 10 pts. Pretty close to the same (but with changes only for pts not yards). I would go with Andre in a heart beat for 2 reasons. One I have Andre higher, two you can get Calvin on the way back a high % of the time. In fact you COULD have taken Cal in the 4th, if you liked Cal more than Andre how did you end up with Santonio? Mendenhall pick sucks since you really don't need a 4th RB there but could use a WR for sure.

2 guys picking and one guy clicking....! I liked Cotchery and Calvin. My bro liked Andre a lot, and obviously Santonio. My tonight I will take the helm. I'll have to look at the order we picked, I don't have it here at work and can't seem to find it on the fanball site.edit: I found it. I think I remember us taking Santonio and since Calvin was still there we thought he might slide to us in the next round. We're diehard Lions fans and we though maybe everybody was not touching Calvin and he would fall to us. We were two picks from that happening. Oh well.

Pretty happy with my results from the 4pm CDT slot today.

Picking from the 1 spot:

1 - Adrian Peterson - RB

2 - Terrell Owens - WR

3 - Braylon Edwards - WR

4 - Plaxico Burress - WR

5 - Darren McFadden - RB

6 - Derek Anderson - QB

7 - Earnest Graham - RB

8 - Brett Favre - QB

9 - Matt Schaub - QB

10 - Chester Taylor - RB

11 - Ray Rice - RB

12 - Vincent Jackson - WR

13- Chicago Bears - DT/ST

14 - Nate Kaeding - K

15 - Zach Miller - TE

16 - Sidney Rice - WR

17 - Todd Heap - TE

18 - Tennessee Titans - DT/ST

19 - Josh Scobee - K

20 - Dustin Keller - TE

Obviously I waited on QB and TE, but I'm okay with who I ended up with and my depth at those spots.

The head scratcher of the draft was the guy in the 4 spot taking Mendenhall in round 2, followed up Cotchery in round 3. He was all over the place.

Some observations and thoughts from my 6PM draft tonight (Thursday):

- QBs being available for flex really throws a lot more intrigue intto drafting strategy. Some people jumped all over QBs. Others used that opportunity to grab value at RB and WR

- For the first time in my FF life, I drafted a QB in one of the 1st two rounds (Brees 2).

- One guy went with Selvin Young, Marshall, and Cutler in 3 straight rounds (4-6)

- Mo Morris wasnt drafted. Not sure if this is normal this year as i havent had time to mock. But, i thought it was strange that a RB listed as the starter wasnt even drafted

- Why is there always one guy takes the full 90 seconds...on...every....pick?

They revised the prize schedule today, so this thing is definitely on. 1st is still $1 million but other prizes have been lowered:

http://www.ffoc.com/rules/prizes.php

Looks pretty reasonable to me, they're still paying out about $1.35 million overall not including the league prizes. My league filled last night and drafts tomorrow, it's #302. So it looks like they'll be lucky to hit 1000 leagues which would equal about a 135% payout.
I'm going to buy an extra six pack in honor of this great accomplishment and to help fanball make this a success. I can't believe the went forward with this contest. It's going to be the best chance at $1M in history...right? anything else we know of has a 1 in est. 10K chance at $1m?Amazing stuff.

David -- have you talked to the group heading this up?
Umm yeah....10k people putting $100 into a hat, and winner taking all.

RA and Wife beaters were on autodraft the entire draft, Dark Knight for round 1. No real strong teams in this draft.

I am Abby's Dad (4th and final FFOC team(I think)). First time in the middle of the order this year. Tough spot. Waited on QB, we'll see if it hurts me.

DD has my team #1 for Total Team Strength, Season of Perfection #1 for Starter Strength.

Any comments would be welcome.

You're right, pretty well balanced league. IMO you will need either Schaub or Rodgers to really have a good year. OR, you'll need to make solid week to week decisions on which to start at Flex (assuming you go with QB at flex)Whats crazy is that the 7 spot (Hewitt) drafted almost an identical team as i did from the 7 spot. In some RDs his actual players were different, but the position we drafted was the same. Just kinda freaky to see that

First 9 rounds are a solid draft. The rest of it is marred by the fact you wait till round 14 to pick up your 4th receiver. This is a guy who will you expect to start 2 regular season games and your Championship game right now. Instead you picked your 4th and 5th RBs when you already have your 3rd QB (which essentially fills your flex spot with a QB every week), when you already have a solid option at the 3 spot. I keep seeing this in drafts people post, its probably an artifact of normal scarcity in RBs, but with two spots and QBs at the flex and 3 WRs they are not going to be as valuable. Not to mention you have a 9 week season, much less time for these situations to shake themselves out and let you take advantage of the value you found.

Honestly, probably the best critique I've ever received. I could never seem to find (what I considered) value at WR where I wanted it. I thought getting the Tenn running game was good, but after I was just shaking my head. I had targets at WR and got them, but think I made the mistake of focusing on my targets instead of what the draft gave me. I saw that with other teams too and chuckled to myself about it. Physician heal thyself.I am happy with my starting WRs, my TEs, my QBs (really happy, believe it or not), and my RBs should produce. I think I can win the league by staying on top of it, but this is not a Vegas team (yet). Thanks for the response.
