FFPC dynasty and redraft thread (2 Viewers)

Before I list it I have been watching similar teams on DD to see what they are going for. Most of them expire few to no bids. I ended up buying one at a discount instead. FWIW out there I have had a few teams sold in the last week both on the FFPC site as well as DD. I can't say that I've done anything different but maybe there is more money to burn in some people's pockets. Might be about timing more than anything else. I also have two strong teams that have high bids at the moment that I will likely accept.

I know they tell you not to, but do you list on both sites at the same time? Also, did you sell those teams at break-even price?

I have a $250 superflex best ball with some decent pieces (Tua, JT, Higgins, G Davis, Freiermuth, 1.03, 1.08, 2.03) that has been listed for a couple weeks on FFPC but hasn't sold. I recently lowered it. I feel like the only teams that are selling are the ones that are heavily discounted, or are coming off a league title, or have multiple firsts that include the 1.01.

It's not the end of the world if I end up keeping these teams. I kind of wish there was a way to offer another guy to swap teams -- I'd easily trade my teams for one of similar strength in a Triflex league, which is my preferred format now. (Both teams I'm trying to sell are superflex best ball with kickers and defenses.)

I haven't listed them on both sites at the same time. If I think I get more than 1.0x then I can only do that on DD so I've listed a few of my better teams there that I'm willing to part with. I've listed a couple lesser teams on FFPC. Four actually, and sold one. I've lowered the price on the other 3 and will probably delist them after this weekend if they don't sell and try them on DD. At this point I don't mind selling teams at or near break-even prices because I want to get away from my single QB leagues (largely) and to reduce my overall number of dynasties (again). I think I want to put more money into daily and best ball stuff and no matter how it shakes out I'm still going to have a very large dynasty portfolio.

I like the Triflex format a lot as well. Our Sharkpool league may be my only remaining single QB squad after this offseason.
 
Let's say I have a $500 team on Dynasty Depot. If someone bids $100 (which would be below my reserve), and I accept, then I'm losing $400 on that team, right? (Before DD takes its cut.) In other words, if I abandoned the team right after the season, I'd be out $250 (the deposit), so it makes no sense for me to accept anything under a bid of ~$280, because after DD takes its cut, I'd lose about $250, same as if I had abandoned the team. Correct?

Yeah sounds about right.
I don't think you can list a team on dynasty depot until you pay the league fee for this season, yet I see some teams with a buy it now price of something super cheap. I'm not sure why. Oh well.
 
Question for the groups. Standard FFPC dynasty leagues (as in ONE QB).

Value-wise. Tyreek Hill or Josh Allen. Go!!

Obviously team needs could factor in

I'm gonna say if you have a top-10 QB already, then Tyreek is more valuable. If you're replacing Tyreek with a lesser starter, the downgrade is likely to hurt you more than the upgrade from your current QB to Allen would help you.
 
What does the FFPC do with some of these orphans that are just...............special?
I'm not sure I would take some of these teams if they were free for the first 2-3 years. Some of them legitimately have nothing but waiver type guys, and no draft picks.
What do they do in a league when there's a team like this, and nobody buys it for the $1 price tag?
To my knowledge, none of the leagues have folded yet. I find that to be quite impressive.

I would not take some teams for free either but in fact would be required to be compensated for my efforts to spend a season or two rehabbing teams to make them somewhat viable.

How they do it I don't know but I have always given them a ton of credit for it and to me justifies a lot of the juice we pay.

Somebody always ends up taking them on. I've got one of these left that I picked up two years ago and have really not made any headway at all. Not sure what to do with it since I don't want to renew and nobody is gonna want it. Just no traction in this league at all. Very little activity. I mean I *guess* I have a couple decent young WRs with some upside but holy cow. Tell me how bad this is w/projected cut to 16:

Update - I've sold ten FFPC dynasty squads since week 17. 3 on FFPC website and 7 on DD. Still no advice to offer other than to say that this weekend might be another boom period since people are going to be getting their winnings deposited.

I'm down to 14 teams now.

Oooof. That’s horrible. And with FFPC’s consolation bracket playoff format, your team will not come close to “winning“ 1.1.

I know rookie drafts should be BPA but, at 1.4, with that roster, you’re almost forced to swing at the 3rd best RB. Youre really hoping Sanders doesn’t re-sign and then Gainwell can have a larger slice in Philly.
kudos for you for doing this charity work.

Obviously you don't have to give specifics, but are you breaking even or selling for losses/gains?

Pretty much at cost, minus fees, but in order to really get the ball rolling I decided to part ways with a few of my really good teams, including ones I had been the original owner from the startup, something I wanted to avoid doing. I sold those for around ~$300 (all $250 tier) but I feel like they're probably worth more. So in a sense I would call that a loss, but in the end it all works out to pretty close to @cost. Which is fine for me since my main goal here is just to reduce the number of dynasty squads I'm doing. I took on a bunch of orphans when DD opened a couple years ago and always had the intention of it being a 2-3 year project and that I would ratchet down after. The team I listed above is the only one that I truly have failed to do much with. I left the others in much better shape than I found them.

Here is the core of the best team out of the ones I sold and was the original owner (and won the ship this year):

SuperFlex
Kyler, Wilson, Winston
Ekeler, Javonte, Walker
Chase, Metcalf, Pittman, London
Hockenson
D&K

Is it ok to ask what happened between FBG and FFPC?

I assume it is about money and that's fine, but curious if anyone has any insight.

Yeah I'm curious about this as well. Definitely caught my attention. I made a big daddy trade today you can see it in the thread.
 
Anyone wanna jump into one of the $125 Never Too Early BB Tourney with me in a Sit N Go fashion? I'm snowed in here in Portland and finally doing my tier/big board shuffling and need to get my first draft of the year in! I know most people's preference is to slow draft but I'm opposite. #53192 we need 6.

Prefer the slows for now (3rd one in process now, lol), but doing a fbg\fpc never too early bb might be fun if there is any interest? Would have to be slow, but im up for it.

Same. Prefer the slow drafts this time of year as time killers. That being said I think I'm switching to the 2 hour clock. In a 6 hour now and the slow pace drives me nuts. Does not help I'm picking at an end, and it's the kind of draft the guy picking at the other end will make a pick and then wait 4-5 hours to make the second of his b2b picks.

Question: Can you still receive trade offers if your team is listed for sale on Dynasty Depot? I know you can't send offers. (Gonna tag @barackdhouse since he seems to have sold the most teams on DD.)

In my experience over the years of doing say 50 to a 100 best ball drafts a year, the teams that cash are all the one's I draft in late August/early September. Apparently my sleeper takes this time of year never pan out.
 
Am I crazy or didn't we have have the same three teams go 1/2/3 both years in our Shark Pool FFPC Dynasty league? And no Joey, no way we let you three peat :hophead:

No you can’t. I say this because I’ve offered trades to team xyz and FFPC immediately gives an error message saying trade invalid because xyz is listed for sale on DD.

Same here except sometimes the message is that the team hasn't been renewed
 
I'm in a pickle as I have an aging RB group, a decent but not great WR core and banking on Dulich at TE with no pick below 1.10

Not sure about this one. I still have a team I haven't renewed and I've received offers, including one a couple days ago. I can reject offers, but I can't accept or propose offers without renewing.

Yes, that is how the playoffs have finished both years and both yrs NER was 1 seed, Joey 2nd and 3rd seed split between Iheart\Penquin.

3-peat is looking like a very remote possibility, but if I can somehow hang on to the 2 seed this year, it bodes well for me, doesn’t it ;)
 
I did get my Sit N Go fix in today for the Never Too Early BB Tourney. Drew 1.01. I'm not going to try and defend this but I guess I don't hate it:

I like the qbs, and can definitely see you taking the shots here; a bit light at te perhaps, but I like it.

One of the 2 ive completed, we have some dupes (out of 5 hole). Was not loving the start after taking Kelce in the 1st, Jacobs in 2nd, but I am ok with it now.

Funny, in Zealots 21 (formarly Z31) I won the title 5 of the first 6 years, 4 of those from the 6 seed
