Ehh...you draft before me in every round. But there are others here. I just really like to get people's opinion's before the draft. Less influenced by immediate opportunity.
 
Okay, these are not based on projected draft order, but on how I think they will turn out as pros. It's a thankless task, meaningless for a few years. Noone has posted more accurate mocks over the past three years than Scott Wright, and you can see his old attempts at this here. If some of these seem crazy, they probably are, but I am basing this pretty much entirely on watching these guys play, then reading as much about them as possible. I stop where I think there's NO chance of making it.

QBs

So much of QB success is between the ears that this is impossible.

1. Vince Young - clearly

2. Jay Cutler - barely

3. Matt Leinart - imho

4. Charlie Whitehurst - better than most think

5. Bruce Gradkowski - see above

6. Kellen Clemens - gutsy leader, great instincts, accurate

7. Ingle Martin - favorite sleeper

8. Omar Jacobs - toughest to rank

9. Brody Croyle - a lot of upside

10. Reggie McNeal - interesting skillset

11. Paul Pinegar - needs better decisions

12. Tarvaris Jackson - great tools

13. Justin Holland - could be sleeper

14. Jeff Mroz - 2nd favorite sleeper

15. Barrick Nealy - great tools

16. Erik Meyer - gamer

17. Darrell Hackney - rocket launcher

18. Marcus Vick - has upside

19. DJ Shockley - fine athlete, needs polish

20. Brett Elliot - hard to tell because of competition

21. Travis Lulay - see above

22. Bruce Eugene - amazing production

23. Quinton Porter - NFL look and skillset, so raw

RBs

I see little to separate 3-11 (White being a big outlier). These will be drastically changed after the draft. Situation is key.

2. DeAngelo Williams - solid

3. Jerome Harrison - seriously, so underrated, favorite sleeper

4. LenDale White - great vision, will work for food

5. Laurence Maroney - system concern and situation key

6. Maurice Drew - most intriguing

7. Brian Calhoun - see Maroney, but very talented

8. Jerious Norwood - needs to fill out, but skilled and tough

9. Andre Hall - could be big surprise

10. Joseph Addai - prolly prove me wrong, but not buying it

11. Leon Washington - nice 3rd down package, could surprise

12. Taurean Henderson - see above

13. Damien Rhodes - name to file away

14. Gerald Riggs Jr. - nice big back for this class

15. Derrick Ross - sleeper

16. De'Arrius Howard - see Bloom

17. Mike Bell - could earn feature role in right system

18. Wali Lundy - runs hard, might translate better than expected

19. Terrence Whitehead - just needs a little more speed

20. Cedrick Humes - over-hyped by the big back seekers

21. DonTrell Moore - injuries make very hard to rank

22. Wendell Mathis - prolly not enough juice

23. Quinton Ganther - has a lot of interest

24. Cory Ross - could shock us all, runs underground

25. PJ Pope - size and versatility could find work somewhere

I think the top 10 are certain to make rosters and contribute soon...

11. Tim Day - has all the tools, needs health and commitment

12. Anthony Mix - tweener could be surprise in right system

13. Darcy Johnson - name to file away

1. Santonio Holmes - ready, polished, explosive

2. Brandon Marshall - SOD, #1 w/more experience

3. Chad Jackson - productive, great measurebles

4. Demetrius Williams - great hands, instincts, needs polish

5. Mike Hass - ready as Holmes, not as dynamic

6. Derek Hagan - slump will end, makes team happy, produces

7. Maurice Stovall - best redzone threat, playmaker

8. Martin Nance - 2nd to Stovall, and tougher

9. Greg Jennings - wish I was more impressed

10. Wille Reid - reminds me of Santana Moss

11. Sinorice Moss - not his brother

12. Travis Wilson - all around player

13. Hank Baskett - could surprise

14. Jeff Webb - might be soft, but great skillset

15. Domenik Hixon - tough, raw, fast, gifted athlete, sleeper

16. Devin Aromashodu - deep threat, could develop into more

17. Johnathan Orr - underutilized, could surprise

20. Ben Obamanu - very athletic package

21. Greg Lee - should have stayed in school

22. Brandon Williams - undersized, not a burner, but shifty

23. Todd Watkins - could be Ashley Lelie

24. Skyler Green - route runner, possession receiver

yada yada...

Not sure what to do with the QB converts. If a team could convince Robinson to focus on Rb, he'd be in that 2nd tier 3-11. Brad Smith is a great football player, but he needs time to become a receiver. I hope it works out for him. Guess I would slide him in above Webb-- but they're more mysterious than the rest.

 
A few thoughts:

Bush is worth the hype. Scary potential in PPR, but the TDs might not be there for a while.

Leinart is my #1 QB. He's the safest pick, which isn't saying much. I don't really like any of these QBs. Young has star potential, but I can also see him being the butt of a lot of jokes in about four years.

Whitehurst is a bum. 7 TDs against 17 INTs as a junior. 49 career TDs against 46 INTs. What more do you need to know? He looks like a football player, but he doesn't have the mental skills. I've rarely seen that combination work at the QB position.

As I mentioned above, I don't buy the Marshall hype. He looks like he's running in molasses. I just can't see him separating from NFL DBs. Sure, Boldin and TO aren't speed demons either, but they have a burst. I don't see it with Marshall.

I like Jerome Harrison. In the right situation, he has a chance, but he won't start in every system. Shades of Brian Westbrook.

Wali Lundy is this year's Cedric Houston. Decent all-around skills. Seems like a classic Baltimore or Denver back.

I'm also down on Addai. He's the Whitehurst of the RBs. A better athlete than player.

I like Byrd. He'll never be a star, but he's going to make plays. He reminds me of Jerome Wiggins.

Leonard Pope looks and plays like a tree. That's not a good thing.

Watch out for Chris Hannon. I can't figure out why Tennessee never threw to this guy.

Thanks for the comments. Agree with most of them. Could have continued with TEs and included Hannon and some others. Pope could go either way, but I think he'll be fine. I liked his interview so much I became a fan. He looks stiff, but he gets down the field, better than Lewis for sure. Great hands. I have a friend, who went to Clemson, knows Whitehurst, explained the brutal details of his 4 years there, sent me a bunch of highlights and games. He's not a bum. His college career was more similar to Matt Hasselbeck's (24 tds 26 ints, three losing years) than Cutler's. Charlie is tough. The OC his junior year was a bonafide idiot. His best year was the only year he had decent receivers, sophomore year, Derrick Hamilton. Like Cutler, he's been working with little in a tough conference. He has a good football head, he absorbed so many schemes and offenses that he kicks butt in the chalk talks. He has nice wheels, and if you go to the film, he can make all the throws. He also has a confident quality to him compared to the other QBs at the Senior Bowl and Combine that made him stand out. QBs need that more than others. I was also influenced by the mad dash to interview him by every team in the market for one of the top 3 QBs. Something has to be there.

It's mostly between the ears for QBs. Parcells says you cannot measure heart or you woudn't see draft errors. Who knows? It's just fun to speculate this time of year.

 
Call me crazy but I just don't see ranking Omar Jacobs that low. This guy would have been a first round pick had he came out last year now he's #8 at qb. I love the way he plays and I don't see him getting past Minn. int he second round (assuming they don't get a qb in the first).

Not crazy at all. The first three qbs are polarizing enough, but the next 7 are just as bad. 4-11 can be ranked in any order you prefer, and I wouldn't put up a strenuous argument. I'm sneaking Martin in there making matters worse. Maybe alphabetical is best? Omar and Gradkowski had a nice duel last year. Gradkowski looked better, they both looked good. Jacobs may not be a natural leader at heart. Bloom touched on it in the podcast here. Believing so much of this is mental, I downgrade him on an assumption, which could be wrong.

If I was discussing each in more detail, I would add that I think Omar has a better chance at becoming a franchise QB than many of those above him. The old higher ceiling lower floor. I'm a fan of Omar. There's a great human interest piece out there that makes you want him to succeed.
