Firefox Matchstick - $12 on Kickstarter (1 Viewer)

Topes

Footballguy
I'm not usually an early adopter. All my HDMI holes are filled.

Yet, I still might get me one of these: Firefox Matchstick for $12 (pre-order, Kickstarter)

The video says it is better than Chromecast. I have never known video to lie.

tv stik is so much better than either and the same price
 Never heard of this, but I'm not seeing anything that isn't around $50, let alone $12 or $18
They sold out last christmas

I suppose I mis-stated it's similar to chrome price not matchstick.

Here it's http://www.amazon.com/Generic-Android-Powered-Wireless-N-ANDROID-TV-STIK/dp/B009F1QBOE $45 on google shopping it's $35. I think Evertech has buy 6 at $20. It was in yesterday's mailer.

This has a genuine android OS, not some overly modified version like chromecast.

If you boot it up, a second later you're thinking heh that looks just like my phone or tablet. Home screen, apps, everything is normal looking. The familiarity is obviously good, but not just for look N feel, but for all the apps you know n love. Granted not every app is compatible with tv stik (or all tablets even) but a large percentage are.

Your phone has DLNA which used to be mentioned as a selling point for products but nowadays seems almost taken for granted as just part of things so manufacturers no longer list this on boxes. TV Stik has DLNA too.

If you use an app like splashtop to share your computer screen on your phone, you can do that. If you're into the WD apps and have files on a WDBookLive or similar NAS device, it takes all of a minute to set it up.

Crackle, Netflix, hulu, Amazon....get the app and play the movies. Who cares if it's preinstalled when it takes two minutes to download and install an app.

I have bought Chromecast and sold it out of frustration and then a buddy insisted so I bought it again and....it so stinks compared to TV Stik.

TV stik is imitated There are little tiny boxes that have a 6 inch HDMI cord on Amazon that are "Android Powered" and very similar. I think you fasten this little box to the back of your tv...anyway I wouldn't do the imitation.

TV Stik seems to have serious production issues having run out a bunch of times and everytime I see a company like Walmart or now Evertech offer their product, pickings are slim on the rest of the web trying to get it.
