First Presidential Debate (1 Viewer)

I'm not denying them.  I explicitly acknowledged them from the start of our exchange.

I mostly agree with the rest of your post.
Well, that is why she is a bad candidate.

I was explicitly arguing she was a bad candidate from the standpoint of her electability.

I also happen to think she is bad because of her ideas, but the comparison with Trump is very flattering on that front.

Drudge Report=Card Trader

Huffington=Squisy

Why would either of those opinions count?  They don't, the lunatic fringes are just that.  HTH

No need to get snarky with the italics.

I understand your position just fine.  Thanks.

Dude, relax.

Oof.  First instapoll, from CNN/ORC (who won the debate): Clinton, 62-27.

Some Biden-Palin-style stats.  Looks like they sampled a lot of Democrats, but still.

She's not impartial but she understands reality better than anyone else on Fox.
I don't know, I've been watching her for 30 minutes now and she's been all over the board.   For as much personality she has, she doesn't deviate too far to one side or the other for very long.

It is really hard to avoid the conclusion that Trump doesn't know very much about anything not called "Trump" something.

Except for shameless self-promotion, I guess.

I am only partially kidding when I say trump would have been better off tonight if he just responded to every question with how he and the sharper image have partnered up to bring us a higher class of steak.

And not being prepared, which even Foxheads agreed with, was the ultimate hubris.  If they don't roll out the red carpet for him in China, he's just pulling chalks and going back to 'Murica.  That's the guy I want to be my president, unprepared and irrational.

"Clinton hit home run after home run every republican operative is despondent, total shutout"

Chris Mathews (paraphrased)

Stay skyrocketed in the days leading up to the vote in betting markets, playing on people panicking and voting to stay. Bookies cleaned house on that.
That's one example, the election is weeks away, Hillary has been in the lead for months and the line then jumped tonight. Not the same thing.

Good analogy, except for the completely-different-electorate-due-to-different-country and yes/no versus voting for a candidate stuff

I'm saying it's not unprecedented that a betting market is not a perfect indicator of future results.  It's psychological, people see that and "steam chase" the favorite, thinking it's a lock. The bookies are really good at making a market to separate people from their money and collect a commission, not predicting elections is my point.

If I had to put my faith in any one single indicator to predict the election, I'd go with the betting markets.

But I don't have to rely on a single thing.

The betting markets plus theFiveThirtyEight is a pretty good combo.

Hillary won this by letting trump implode for about 20-30 mins. I thought trump started out strong, then got stuck in the middle part and lost bigly there, then the last part was a toss up. Overall Clinton win. She definitely seemed better prepared with memorized answers where trump wandered around

She really did better than I expected.

Though, as others have pointed out, she let Trump wriggle out of a few situations where she could really have crushed him with a sledgehammer and instead just swatted him with a newspaper.

DONALD TRUMP

I would like to respond. Versatile, got to watch and prepare some of his new debates against Barack Obama. You to a terrible business for. And I watch the way you talk now about how lovely everything is and how wonderful you were. Eight of the work that way. You are after him. You are trying to -- be a visit out, campaigns without, figures on him in a certain garb -- . with pictures. , you deny that. But just last week, your campaign manager said it was true. So when you try to act holier than thou, it really doesn't work. It really doesn't. Now as far as the lawsuit, yes, I was very young, I went to my father‘s company. Had a real estate company in Brooklyn and Queens. And we, with many many, companies around the company were sued. The federal lawsuit. Received. We settle the suit was zero -- with no admission of guilt. It was very easy to do. But they said many people. I notice you bring that up a lot, and, know, also noticed the nasty commercial he told me on so many ways. What I'm doing you. Can try to save the money. But frankly, I look at that, and I said -- is not amazing because I settled that lawsuit with no admission of guilt. Without a lawsuit brought against many real estate firms. And is just one of those things. I'll go was up further. In Palm before -- the community -- a brilliant community, and while the community, probably the wealthiest man in the world, I open a club. And really got great credit -- discrimination against Afrimn-Americans, against Muslims, against anybody. And it's a tremendous least successful club. And I'm so glad I did it. And I have been given great credit for what I did. And I'm very, very proud of it. And that's the way I feel. That is the true way I feel.
:lmao:
This is beyond sad. How did a man who speaks like this even get to this point? I mean...I realize that real speech transcribed is rarely as literate sounding in print as in real life...but that's laughably illiterate. I had to read it twice just to get a sense of something that could have been said in 2 or 3 lines just as effectively. WHO WOULD WANT THIS TOOL AS PRESIDENT????
