Hurry and give further instructions. It's hot and dry, and I think there are Mormons coming over and waving.
If someone who lived a thousand miles from Buffalo told you BW3 was comparable to the other wing places in town what would you say?FWIW, the only Hooters that I know of in Buffalo closed like 6 years ago. There may be some that I don't know about in the southtowns.it's ok to like a place even if it's not perfect in every way, i didn't realize Hooters was such a threat. I guess Buffalonians don't like all those free, extra dipping sauces, giant portions and busty waitresses. You guys are lousy with good wing places in Buffalo, the rest of the us doesnt have thatno. If they opened a Hooters in Buffalo would you go?
hooters food is terrible. I try to avoid them in any city.
There are a few BW3's here, but I don't think they do very well. I've been to one of them like 3 times when they used to have a good price deal on a certain weeknight (Tuesdays, I think?) back when I was in college.
That's it.yep. now what? For the purposes of this thread can you imagine for a brief second you do live near an InNOut? Can you do that? Is that possible?
Luckily for you it isn't Florida.Wait - you can chill a bit. It's Nevada. I just saw a prostitute, and she looks legal.
I know it's crazy but there are several burger options near me. I don't have to pick one and eat there anytime I want a burger. That's it.yep. now what? For the purposes of this thread can you imagine for a brief second you do live near an InNOut? Can you do that? Is that possible?

In general, I'd assume they're crazy. If someone who lived a thousand miles from Buffalo told you BW3 was comparable to the other wing places in town what would you say?

so, if I was near both, I'd probably eat at one sometimes and eat at the other sometimes. both have pros and cons.
Pretty sure all they have is the crap food here.I'm not sure what it's like in the rest of the country, but in San Diego, Hooters has pretty good steamed shrimp, steamed crab legs, steamed clams, and raw oysters. I mean, there aren't really a lot of ways you can mess that stuff up, but the point is that they don't.
(The wings, burgers, and sandwiches are gross.)

are burgers a specialty in California? I don't get the point you're making.
if it's that most national franchised chains are terrible compared to local places, I'd tend to agree.
In N Out makes a really good burger at an affordable price and they have a large and loyal following as a result.
Five Guys makes a pretty good burger at a normal price and they are available everywhere.

Why not just say this from the get go? Going to Hooters for seafood...I'm at a loss.I'm not sure what it's like in the rest of the country, but in San Diego, Hooters has pretty good steamed shrimp, steamed crab legs, steamed clams, and raw oysters. I don't know. I thought we were all mostly saying that in here. Why not just say this from the get go? This is what all of us have been saying (maybe not the "normal price" part).
To clarify, I meant assuming the person had never been here and sampled wings from a handful of local places. If someone like Aaron, who has theoretically eaten at a bunch of the top local places, claimed that the wings in Chicago were better, I'd take it more seriously. But someone who lives halfway across the US and had never been here, that's a different story. That'd be like me claiming that, say, some local burrito place is better than what I can get in SF without ever having been there. It might be better, but I have no frame of reference...that's crazy talk.Aaron? In general, I'd assume they're crazy. If someone who lived a thousand miles from Buffalo told you BW3 was comparable to the other wing places in town what would you say?

I spent about 6 seconds thinking of a "getting crabs at Hooters" joke but decided against it.Go for the seafood, stay for the boobs.Going to Hooters for seafood...I'm at a loss.I'm not sure what it's like in the rest of the country, but in San Diego, Hooters has pretty good steamed shrimp, steamed crab legs, steamed clams, and raw oysters. Where did 5Guys start (Maryland or something?)? Imagine if you lived there and you heard InNOut was coming. Everyone from all over the west coast told you how great it was. You try it. You think to yourself, no free peanuts, fries meh, I like 5Guys better. Then you go on the internet and participate in an INnOut thread and you're viciously attacked for your beliefs. You'd be thinking, what did I do to deserve this? I just like the place I like. I like my peanuts. I like when they yell at me when I walk in. I can share my meal with my lady at my place. Why am i the bad guy here? And then people tell you why is it even a comparison? They don't even have FiveGuys near them. Why bring that place up? Stop talking about FiveGuys. You'd think, I wouldn't have brought it up if all i heard was how great the invading InNOut was. And it's not like I didn't like InNout at all, I just like my place a lot and can't understand why InNOut doesn't have free peanuts. What did I say to cause this outrage? It's my money, I don't mind paying double and I split it anyway and drink water. You try to quell the fury with a few nice posts about InNOut but the fury only grows. It's a tidal wave pretty much and you're drowning. Why? How did it get to this point?I don't know. I thought we were all mostly saying that in here. Why not just say this from the get go? This is what all of us have been saying (maybe not the "normal price" part).
Most of the discussion was on the price/value for what you get, the size of the fries and whether you should share them, the yelling, and the free peanuts.
there was some talk on the bun quality and the fact they serve all burgers well done, plus some discussion of the lack of shakes and beer and the tacky wall decorations. some complained about the wide range of toppings offered while some people appreciated that. some said the food takes too long to prepare while others think it's appropriate for food cooked to order.
some people complained that there are no other customers while some liked the fact the lines were generally much shorter than more popular chains.
different strokes for different folks, but all in all it's a decent chain that's better than most of the other options in middle America.

Is there a beer option yet?Aaron Rudnicki said:When people order way more food than they need and complain about the price, it gets tiresome since there's an option to order less for a lower cost.Nipsey said:Split everything just don't tell me that's why the place is great.
Chicken & the Egg thread I guess.Nips, can you point me to the first post in this thread when you felt attacked?
If I had to guess, it was the In N Out superfans that came in and talked up how much better it is than FG vs the other way around.

What I posted is par for the course where I live... These 3 burger specific places are all within walking/delivery distance. Sure, I could scour yelp/google/and walk by every restaurant in a 20 square block radius so that I might be able to find something decent in the $35-$40 range, but why would I do that when I have a tasty burger and fries meal for under $20 at Five Guys? You live in New York and there are only three restaurants near you?For someone #####ing about cost for 12 pages, why don't you sit down nightly at any of the places near FC42's house?I understand this completely. When I visit New York, I can't wait to eat at Chipotle and Panera. Gotta hit Applebees at least once before I go too.
Here are 3 burger specific places that the wife likes:
Bare Burger
The Burger Bistro
MooBurger
I personally like FG better than all 3 of these, yet I can't walk out of any of these places for under $50 for ####### burger and fries with the wife and kid (and that is absolute minimum!)![]()
Because NY has better food options than anywhere else in the world. The idea that FG tops them all is ridiculous. You're either 1) lying about living in NY; 2) full of #### about how much you love FG more than all of your options being in NY; 3) or you're an idiot. What I posted is par for the course where I live... yep. now what? For the purposes of this thread can you imagine for a brief second you do live near an InNOut? Can you do that? Is that possible?
The reason(s) why you dislike 5G's has never been more apparent than this post.whoa, whoa whoa. Animal style is primarily used for burgers. I don't know anyone who gets the fries animal style. I certainly never have. I'd guess a decent percentage of customers get the burger animal style but not many get the fries that way. I honestly never knew it was an option until a few years ago. Anybody here advocating getting the fries animal style were just trying to present an option to you that you might like better. Again, "Animal Style" is something that has to do mostly with the burgers.JoeT had never even "heard of animal style" at In N Out until I brought it up in here recently. Yet it's been talked about going back to the very beginning of this thread over and over again as a solution to making their awful fries actually edible.it's no secret that some people don't like the INnOut fries. Some do though and it's because they keep it simple and let the ingredient speak for itself without processing. They don't bathe them is salt either. Some people want more salt or a different kind of frying oil. That's OK. You can bump all the old posts you want but somebody's personal opinion that something sucks doesn't make it true.
I hope she went with someone.

12/21/2011Great Burgers and Fries! Really tasty food. I love how they yell when you come in! Two at the door!
