Five Most Useful Apps. (1 Viewer)

What's the best free music app? I normally listen to Pandora but I do like being able to listen to my own songs and fast forward through songs.
Pandora

Songza

Spotify
All three of these are great and offer different benefits.Spotify recently updated their tablet app so that everything is free and you can do all the same stuff on their web/desktop app (listen to entire albums, create custom playlists).

I just recently started using songza and the concierge is awesome. They have recommended playlists based on time/day/mood. So last night it had options for bedtime tunes, party all night tunes, even a cry yourself to sleep mix  The 'Cooking with Jesse Pinkman' playlist is awesome.
Sorry, I should have been clearer. Those are good streaming apps and I have used all three times at various time in the past. Do you know of an actual downloader of music? Preferably one that syncs with a computer. I used to have an Android and would just a video-to-mp3 converter website and then put it on the SD card, but I no longer have that option.

I don't believe that app is on the Apple App Store.

Anyone have any good apps for finding restaurants besides Seemless or Yelp? Specifically for NYC if that matters.

There's either something obvious that I'm missing, or something obvious you're missing.

If you have a way to make .mp3s, why are you asking how to get music? Just tell iTunes to grab the .mp3.

I need a note-taking app, which uses a stylus, for android. The main thing I want to do is to use a base checklist type PDF that I create and check off things / take notes on the PDF itself, and be able to save and email/export the new PDF.

eta - i know there are a ton out there, just wondering if anyone has one they like and works great

The apps I use most

1.pandora

2.facebook

3.final fantasy 3

4.final fantasy 4

5.final fantasy 5
did you try final fantasy dimensions? I really enjoyed the old school nature of that game... good adventure

Also once you switch to "Songza" rather than pandora you won't go back.
Im planning on getting dimensions soon as I have the memory space and cash. All of squares apps were half price over the holidays so I picked up a few

Continueing my quest to play every FF

So far ive done 3,4,5,6,7,8,9,13

One small thing that annoys me about TheScore (beside it crashing a lot on me lately) is that it doesn't show fouls in basketball under individual stats. Small potatoes, but kind of annoying.
Crashing? What os and phone you on? App hasnt crashed on me since the blackberry days.Their support is amazing so write them and theyll guide u to help them solve it
Galaxy S2Android 4.1

My phone does have memory issues, but TheScore crashes 10x as often as any other app right now.
It gets hung up for me, too, much more often than I'd like. (iPhone 4 on ios 6.something)

It's still the stats app I use the most, though.
really recommend writing to them, so they can see what the bug is...

like I said, in the blackberry days for me it crashed often.. since then, I havent had that issue... small bugs here and there which usually fixed w the next update
Finally moved to a Note last week and passed the iPhone down to my daughter. This app is one that's better on android. It's not just that it never gets hung up on me (I'm sure that's just because it's a newer phone), but the overall layout is better. Loving it more now.

I've been using Waze and I've marked some nasty potholes near my house several times, but the notification keeps disappearing off the map. Is there a set time where hazards just disappear, or are there morons that keep clearing it despite the potholes actually getting worse?

I think they do expire eventually but if someone clicks on it and says BS then itll go away much quicker

I was using waze also but it was killing my battery

Wifey and I got Droid Maxx's and my wife has been thrilled because she can use waze all day and still have plenty of juice for when she gets home.

Waze is the best app I've gotten at of this thread. My favorite feature is being able to send an interactive map to someone through text or email that I'm meeting and they can track where I am and what time I'll arrive.

Problem with Waze as it seems some of the routes go out of the way when you have it navigate.

Had this problem once too. Took us completely off track into a really crappy neighborhood because I guess it didn't realize we couldn't just exit the highway on the middle of an overpass, drive through the guard rail and thirty feet down below, to get into the Target parking lot.

My buddy was raving about Tinder the other night. Might have to try this out next week on a trip to Denver...

How in God's name does this Tinder app work? No instructions on app, wtf???
You look at pictures of gals (or dudes, if that's your thing). You vote yes or no based only on the photo. They see a picture of you. They vote yes or no based only on the photo.

If you both vote yes then you get to see their full profile and it let's you message them.

I can't see one picture of anybody. Do I need to post my picture first or something? :excited: Will they even go for Animal?

Might check this out.

We have been using AnyList for needed items which has been working excellent (have list set up separately for Grocery, Target and Lowes/Home Depot). My wife has been trying to start using Hub for To Do stuff. Looks like this could do both and more.
we've been having calendar issues with google/work, so hopefully this might solve our problems

Data ON-OFF - great little switch used to switch cell data on and off.
I imagine that you can still do an emergency call (911)?

Does anyone know of an app that disables emergency dialing? Why? Because I repurpose old smartphones for my kids to play games. There's no account so they only have WiFi and GPS but the kids can still accidentally dial 911.
isn't that what airplane mode is?

I also use an old smartphone as a mini tablet and use airplane mode
I never answered this. No, it's different. Due to emergency 911 regulations, you can still dial 911 on your phone even if you have all networks switched off (or airplane mode).

What I'm looking for is an override for that, only for the old phones which I've turned into game devices for the kids. I doubt an app would do it but I was hoping. It probably requires loading a custom ROM.

Looking for an app to track the location of our family's iPhones. I have the phones set up on separate iCloud accounts to back up, so I need to log in separately if I want to use "Find My iPhone" to see where they are at (had to do this a few times with my son who is slow to answer texts). Would like to have an app that our whole family can see where each other is located at any given time.

Found this one; Phone Tracker which seems like it would do the trick, but wanted to see if anyone preferred another app.

Find my friends? It's an apple app. Very easy to use

Have any of you iPhone guys tried Crop on the Fly? I just read an article on the developers (grad students at Cornell) and was interested in trying it out, but my wife and daughter's iPhones are still on iOS 7 and it requires 8.

Sounds like it could be pretty useful, though.

Finally, a cure for Vertical Video Syndrome!

Crop your awkward vertical videos into normal videos. Adjust your crop "on the fly", as the video plays back in real time, so you get the right part of every frame as the video plays. Use the Photos Extension to use Crop on the Fly right in your Photos app.

Nobody will ever know that you shot your videos the wrong way. Don't worry, we won't tell! Let's get rid of vertical video syndrome once and for all!
