Between this and Josh Gordon's unlimited potential and unjust suspensions, we will always agree.have always absolutely loathed the song.
Don't love the song but always leave it on for that exact line.I dunno, I've always found some misunderstood genius in the now i'm an amputee g-d you
They had another hit, I think. It's no Ready To Go by Republica, though.
What about the "I get knocked down, I get up again.....pissing the night away, pissing the night away" song?have always absolutely loathed the song.
Chumbawamba, who actually started as a punk band, if I'm not mistaken. I'd had an early 7" they were on. They were an anarchist collective had that huge hit with "Tubthumping," which stunned me when I heard who it was. The nineties were very disruptive to preconceived notions, though nothing like today. What about the "I get knocked down, I get up again.....pissing the night away, pissing the night away" song?
More your jam?
For some odd reason I have always loved the song as well. Maybe it is a good song.shuke said:Not really in my wheelhouse but for some odd reason I like it.
It would probably kill at a karaoke bar.
Should be the main song for the Idiocracy movieDan Lambskin said:… Been around the world and found

And I don't even own a TV
I thought I heard that the reason the band didn't do much aside from this hit was due to the lead singer not wanting to go out and tour.rockaction said:Also, I believe Harvey Danger did a reunion tour back in 2007. They played the Red Door in Watertown, CT. My friend, who was a rock critic for the metropolitan independent newspaper, and I went to the show. Sure enough, they had all the cash accoutrements going, even up to and including toddler shirts and shorts.
Very much cash conscious, that band. Knew where there market was. My friend noted that. Disliked them. So did i.
It might not have been them, but I'm pretty sure. I would have seen them in the spring of 2007.I thought I heard that the reason the band didn't do much aside from this hit was due to the lead singer not wanting to go out and tour.
And it obliterates that sound of honking geese song done by the New Radicals.
You know I am.I really hope you're not talking about You Get What You Give.
You know I am.
Honk!...Honk!Honk!
Still love the song (and even the follow-up single). Rob Harvilla of the Ringer does a great podcast called 60 Songs That Explain the 90s that covers You Get What You Give and New Radicals in great detail. Had no idea they were invited to play at Biden's inauguration. One of the greatest songs of the decade. I don't hear where this supposed honking is.
If not this one, my next countdown is likely to be either 1992 or 1993, so you'll get a chance to show off your stuff there. If we turn this into a more general "90's one hit wonders" thread...I do have lists. Looking back, I'm reminded why I didn't like 90's music very much.
Oof, never mind what I said above. Unless, you accidentally reversed these.Good 90's: Take a Picture - Filter
Bad 90's: Bittersweet Symphony - The Verve
I'm not sure I could take a WHOLE YEAR of ANY year of the 90's. Maybe 1990, because it would have vestiges of the 80's.If not this one, my next countdown is likely to be either 1992 or 1993, so you'll get a chance to show off your stuff there.

Whoa, love The Verve. Urban Hymns is one of my favorite albums of the decade.Bad 90's: Bittersweet Symphony - The Verve
It sounds like a lament sung in the Pit of Despair or if you're having a limb removed in a opium den.Whoa, love The Verve. Urban Hymns is one of my favorite albums of the decade.
They had many hits in the UK, and the Brits know their music, damnit!
