NFL | Los Angeles might not receive a team soonTue, 12 Dec 2006 21:36:25 -0800The Associated Press reports NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said Los Angeles might not receive a franchise soon. The league had hoped to put an expansion team there in 2002, but the franchise went to Houston after civic leaders and potential ownership groups could not agree on a stadium site. "I think there has been a misunderstanding in the past that we have to be in Los Angeles. I think we've proven that we don't have to be in Los Angeles. Los Angeles is a wonderful community. It's got great sports fans. It's got great football fans. It's got great NFL fans. We want to be back there. But only on the basis of being successful for the community and for the NFL," Goodell said.
You know, I'd like a team here. I'd like my sons to see a pro football game live and in person. And then it occurs to me that San Diego ain't that far away, my oldest already has a Tomlinson jersey and I'm tired of the NFL and LA Leadership playing grab-### with themselves every few years.I almost don't care anymore. Nobody can get their act together for the simplest things in this deal. And clearly the NFL isn't in a hurry.I'll just save my pennies for Sunday Ticket next year. Which might be what the NFL would prefer anyway - the money they make in this town on that must be huge.Fellow Los Angelinos, what say you?

I wouldn't mind a trip to Anaheim 2-3 times a year to catch a game live.
I'm already a Chargers fan after only being here ~4 years so unless the team is at the Coliseum I'm probably not going to go see them. Living in the Santa Monica area it's not much farther to drive to SD than Anaheim.

LA needs a team of their own tho - not one that gets moved there.

Call them Trojans and the town would probably wet themselves - :goodposting:

No offense to Nipsey, but that hell hole has lost its priviledge of having an NFL team. Let them stick to fake breasts on hotties (hey, it may be a hell hole, but there are redeeming qualities. :goodposting: )
