Lots of good Texan, Panther, Jaguar fans on this board (Raven fans can be included also I guess).. wonder what kind of fan you were before you were a fan of that team

I wish I had a really good story behind being a Jags fan but the truth is that the first season I played FF the Jags entered the league. I was not an NFL fan prior to that and rarely watched. Figured if I'm gonna play FF I want an NFL team to root for and be fanatic about. When I looked around the league, I figured the Jags were as good as any team because I liked being able to look in 30-40 years and be able to claim fandom since day 1 of the franchise's existence.

Like I said, certainly not a flashy reason, but it's the truth.

I'm was a Oiler fan and before we got the Texans I was a BIG Tampa bay fan. Loved everything about them as they had two of my favorites in Dunn & Keyshawn. I liked when they got Gruden at first, but then he seemed to turn into a ego maniac and started destroying the team. After that I was done with them and never really turn back. Although when I see those Buc unies I still get alittle pumped though. I have always been a lover of expansion teams. guess i just like the underdog.

Ravens fan here. I grew up a Balitmore Colts fan in the 60s & 70s. When they left I, like most Colts fans here, was heartbroken. I didn't root for them playing in Indy. After a couple of years, they were just another NFL team I didn't care about. I spent most of the 80s & half of the 90s rooting against the Redskins. Some of that had to do with the dynamic of where I lived - half Colts fans & half Skins fans & you weren't allowed to like both. Another part of that was plain envy that my friends who were Skins fans still had a local team to root for. Took me a couple of years to warm to the Ravens - I didn't like the way we got them & would much rather have had an expansion team.

I have a similar story regarding the Seahawks, although FF wasn't involved, and I picked up expansion teams in both baseball & football. I didn't like the Bucanneers' uniforms, and they ended up a NFC team, so it worked well with my Eagles. Now they are both in the NFC.Ironically, I picked the Blue Jays in baseball. 1993 was a LOT of fun.
