This is the shame... the ABSOLUTE shame of NOVICE fantasy footballers.

You base your league championship on a random week ... 16. The actual players aren't playing like it's most important... why in the world is your league doing same????

Year after year, you see teams with the clearer better teams.... yet they sit at 9-7 because of happenstance. The same ppl who scoff at 8 teams leagues, then in the same breath complain about being upset in week 15 and call that the breaks.

My season is 2/3 complete in my two expert leagues. We auction.... we blind-bid through the regular season with cap.... we play through the season...

Sorry, but I think anyone who finishes their season in week 16 isn't a serious enough a fantasy fan. If you want to debate, I will take on all in this thread, or PM or wherever. If you are serious about this hobby... then get real... you won't regret it. Baby steps.. it can happen.

Anyways... curious those of you "playing through"...

Your season is only 2/3 complete? So you have 8 weeks left? Does your season include the Pro Bowl and next year's Hall of Fame game and the old timers flag football game during the skills challenge?

Hardcore-ness = you > me.

It would be interesting to know how many posters are playing through the playoffs and what the tone of the boards will be through the next four weeks.

For the record, our league plays through week 17 and then the top four enter a points based playoff system up to and including the SuperBowl. At the end of the regular season the 4 playoff bound teams announce which players they are keeping and then all the rest are thrown back in the pool for a pre-playoff draft. I feel this system takes more skill because (when tragetting players in the draft) not only are you projecting which players will put up the most points but also which teams you feel will go further in the playoffs.. it also keeps things interesting in week 16/17 for more than just the championship teams because you invariably have 6 or 7 teams with a shot at the playoffs. Currently we have two teams locked in and 4 more battling it out for the final two places..

Anyway, the crux of the post was .. are there many posters still active in FF competition out there or is everyone done and dusted and counting the days til the college draft?

We do our championship in Week 16 and Pro Bowl in Week 17.

We have a separate game for the NFL playoffs where everyone submits rosters of players in the playoffs and the highest 2 point totals wins a cash prize. We open this up to include friends and family and we usually get around 30 rosters ($10 per roster). The winner gets $200 and 2nd place gets $100.

Nothing worse than a fantasy football snob.Just because you do something one way doesn't mean that anyone who does it differently is a novice or is not serious. Get over yourself.

Probowl in fantasy football? How?
We have four divisions. Each division puts together their best starting lineup from the teams in that division. The division with the highest point total in week 17 wins a cash prize (split between the teams in the division).

You remind of the kind of guy in Texas Holdem who moves all in with AK, who gets called my JJ, gets no help then cries that the other guy is a novice who has no business calling that bet. You THINK your better, but what makes you better? Because....you auction? Wow, thats hard. Because you play...through the playoffs? Wow, I dont think ANYONE ever thought of that. Blind bids. Oh my God! Do you have Einstein comming up with these UNIQUE ideas? So lets talk about what sets most leagues apart. The $$$. Whats your francise fee? Dont lie now to make it seem like your 'Mr. Cool'. $500? $1000? $5000?? What is the typical blind bid ? $5.00? $150.00?? Nothing you posted said 'expert' to anyone. Prove it.
