For those who overlook Strahans Greatness (on field) (1 Viewer)

I just heard on NY sports radio that in their last 11 games where Strahan did not start (not sure what time span that entails), the Giants are 1-10.

That is a pretty strong stat. I have heard people argue that Strahan really is not that as"valuable" a player to his team as true greats. Other than watching and knowing his place on the team (the true leader and voice that others will listen to), that stat speaks volumes, imo.

I think Strahan is underated considerably when the discussion of the best players era to era are discussed.

Especially if you add in all his Superbowls.
Right. Because it only takes a HoF DE to win a superbowl. 1-10 without him. While he might not be able to win on his own, his presence is certainly missed when he isnt there at all.Perhaps the question is how far the Giants would have gone at all over the last decade, without Strahan.

The Giants are also 10-3 when Osi Umenyiora records at least one sack, including 4-0 this season. Granted there are other variables involved, but Osi's ability to get pressure makes a big difference.

You know, I wonder who has the best "absense loss" record?Like, which team sports the worst winning perfcentage without X player?Interesting trivia question.....Wonder, outside of QB, which position has the biggest loss correlation?

well a stud DE like him splits the field in half and makes D easier to play and severely limits the O. There's a pretty big impact there. Much like just not throwing Bailey's way, it's easier to run to the other side. (was before Osi)

And just think, they added Kiwi to that. I believe he has a sack for every start.
