not very contrarian of youThe young guy that teaches next door just found out about Weiland this morning. He was a big STP fan back in the day. This morning we were standing outside our classroom doors letting the kids in. We broke into a quick tribute by singing the chorus to "Plush" using our best Scott Weiland voices:
When the dogs do find her
Got time, time, to wait for tomorrow
To find it, to find it, to find it
When the dogs do find her
Got time, time, to wait for tomorrow
To find it, to find it, to find it
The kids just stared at us.
Besides your mom? BURNHang on. We found something that Tanner doesn't hate?
it should go down as one of those overplayed classics 15 more years from now like a popular Stones or Beatles songs. IMOMy favorite![]()
My 17 yo (too cool for everyone) daughter even loves that song, and will be sad about this.
Yep. Two perfect minutes. ...or three. My favorite![]()
We're playing a show in January, and just added this tune to the set list to pay tribute.Yep. Two perfect minutes. ...or three. My favorite![]()

Exactly...wait...what?Was trying to edit and accidentally deleted my post because I'm a drunkard. Gotta get us a youtube of the slang doing that tune though
its definitely Purple, that's when they branched out and showed they are legit and will be around for a long time.My circle of friends has been arguing Core vs Purple forever.Good band (STP); GREAT frontman.
I always thought Big Empty was their best song but you don't hear it played much any more or mentioned as one of the best.
I'm in the purple corner but honestly I don't think there is a right or wrong answer.
I argued hard to have Still Remains as our wedding song.
He wants to see BBs band on youtube playing the STP song.Exactly...wait...what?Was trying to edit and accidentally deleted my post because I'm a drunkard. Gotta get us a youtube of the slang doing that tune though
Did you turn the radio on?Was in the car for 40 minutes today. Surfing stations. Didn't hear one STP song. Lame.
They were making music with Chester from LP but they just recently broke up. Also just played with joss stone on Jimmy kimmelDeLeo brothers still playing music?
It's a shame drug problems broke this band up. You could tell things were getting weird when the Tripping on a Hole in a Paper Heart album came out.
Not sure if I saw it linked here, or somewhere else, but some recent footage is out there. Think it was from late October and his pipes were solid.Went to find the video of Vaseline from a year or so ago and looks like it's been scrubbed from YouTube for the most part.
from a couple of years ago.Admittedly, it's nuanced, but there's a slight sticking point in that they're not from Seattle. Why?Can we please stop with the 'Seattle Band' thing?
They were always compared to the popular Seattle bands of the 90s, so I find it relevant.Admittedly, it's nuanced, but there's a slight sticking point in that they're not from Seattle. Why?Can we please stop with the 'Seattle Band' thing?
I heard them on two different stations yesterday. Great band and singer. RIPWas in the car for 40 minutes today. Surfing stations. Didn't hear one STP song. Lame.

Chester is the man and with all due respect to Weiland and the guys in this thread ready to pounce on my next statement......Sucks that Chester left STP since it's looked like he was doing a great job.

Linkin Park made better music than STP.
I don't think any of their albums compare to STP's first two (maybe three) and STP created great music via several different methods. Linkin Park's good ones follow a similar formula. I think they have more high points than most give them credit for, but they're not on STP's level.eoMMan said:Chester is the man and with all due respect to Weiland and the guys in this thread ready to pounce on my next statement......cstu said:Sucks that Chester left STP since it's looked like he was doing a great job.
