Fortes last touchdown (1 Viewer)

After looking at the replay in slow motion, I believe Forte was awarded a TD that should not have been. He went airbornaround the 4 yard line, caught the ball and didnt touch ground until in the endzone, but as he landed, 1 foot was out of bounds and since he did not run into the endzone he needed to land with both feet inbounds. Find the replay and post your comments.

IS this sour grapes over Megatron's non TD.....YES, but I still think I am right

What time in the game did it happen?

If it was outside two minutes, then it is the Lions fault for not challenging it.

They did review this, but it was upheld. I didn't watch the replay that closely at that point on the field. I was just watching at around the 50 and understood how they couldn't overturn it. Today, I've heard a few people point this out. From a fantasy perspective I'm fine with it since I had Forte in one of my leagues. :homer:

I don't know the rules exactly. He left the ground, took possession of the ball, got 1 foot, knee, and elbow down but his second foot came down out of bounds. What does that mean? Who knows, the NFL rules are a mystery sometimes.

His right knee touches the ground in the endzone before his left toe touches out-of-bounds. Non-story.

edit: 1 knee = 2 feet (John Madden Rule)

Great discussion here.

The real question is, did Forte drop the ball on his way to the bench? Cause he wouldn't have finished the process then.

Forte was hurt on the play and still held on to the ball. I believe someone had to take the ball out of his hands as he laid there on his back in pain.

So he didn't catch the ball and then hold it up with one hand like ##### bag?

Are you referring to Calvin? How is what he did holding it with one hand like a ##### bag? He held it in one hand, good or bad, because he used his other hand to break his fall. After he thought he caught it, he released the ball and ran. How is what he did acting like a ##### bag?

:lmao: Calvin played it perfectly. Falling sideways, he used one hand to brace himself so he didn't lost the ball on an awkward fall, he used his other hand to extend the ball up in the air to show clear possession and keep it away from the ground. He didn't tuck it because the DB who was on him was swiping low and inside to break it up, Calvin stuck it in a spot the DB couldn't reach. Calvin came to the ground, rolled, set the ball down and went to celebrate.

Awww, poor Calvin wanted to brace his fall so he didn't get bruised. I'm guessing him avoiding his bruise was well worth the loss.

Who celebrates dropping a pass? That's twisted.

Be glad you stole a win.

Your bias against the Lions is a little unwarranted here. He made a tremendous catch. Whether it was a TD or not is another issue. There's no reason for personal shots against Calvin. That's why I replied, clearly you're just bragging about your team winning the game when that's not what this forum is for. Ilov80s makes a good point. I really think what Calvin did was calculated and he simply thought he had the TD so he didn't think he needed to hold the ball. Blame him for a mental mistake I guess, but I don't blame the guy.

 Non-story here. Almost any body part can count as the second foot. We only say and think "foot" because 99% of the time, the other foot is the second thing to hit the ground.

Unless its 2 feet plus a butt. Then you have to control the ball all the way to the hotel.
