Frappuccino Caffeine Bing (Hosted By The Distillers) (1 Viewer)

If Coffee Has No Calories, And Neither Do Cats, How Did I Get Fat?

(A book by Cathy Guisewite)

i remember her comic strip ... dunno if it's still in syndication - my mom, who loved Erma Bombeck, would always rag on Carhy's "dumb" daily offering ... over Pall Malls & Yuban, of course.

Oh yeah, Cathy was totally for the Oprah, self-loathing, teal and pink decor, career woman set. It was the stupidest demographic, and the dumbest 'toon in the dialies. Figured I'd take a shot to rip the #### out of it. Erma Bombeck: Life Is Like A Bowl Of Cherries, And All I Get Is The Pits is a book she wrote or a collection of her essays.

Erma Bombeck. There's a name I haven't heard in a while

She (Cathy Guisewite or whatever her name was) came to speak at our Women's Studies program at school. I almost went just to heckle, but I was in enough trouble as it was.

How do these talentless louts get famous? Oh yeah, find an unspoken for demographic and pander the #### out of yourself to it.

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

- i think it was the Septic Tank book that broke Bombeck, no?

i recall both of 'em being on Mommo's night table.

Perhaps. I don't remember, precisely.

Erma Bombeck wasn't so bad, IIRC. Cathy, though.

My word. You could tell that was pandering even at the age of eleven or so (back when I still read the daily 'toons).

Bloom County was king back then. Calvin and Hobbes came a little later. There was really always barely any reason to read the cartoon page save for those two and Peanuts re-runs.

Wow. I was going through similar stuff just back in March, huh.

Caffeine Frappuccino Bing is at it again, minus The Distillers.

If you don’t know how magnets work, be careful of how much change you’re advocating. We rely heavily upon others for knowledge and consciousness.

That’s my thought for the day, brought to you via the Insane Clown Posse
