The Cards have been to the SB more recently than the Eagles have, but the Eagles pedigree is far better than the cards. The Cards play in the NFC West, yet have but one NFC West Title in the last 10 years when it's been pretty mediocre. The Eagles play in the NFC East and I can't remember a season when they weren't extremely competitive in that division. As for the deal, well, I just don't see it in Kolb, so I think the Eagles made out just with the pick. He's had another year under some really good QB developing coaches, so maybe he's better than what we've seen, but the Scott Mitchell thing keeps sticking in my head. The guy got to learn from Shula and Marino and still sucked and that's a lot better on both counts than Reid and McNabb/Vick. That being said, I think this was Fitz' deal. He worked out with Kolb and I'm guessing said he wanted the guy as the QB and they made it happen to keep Fitz happy who is nearing the end of this contract. If it were me, I would've gone with the more proven quantity of Orton and drafted someone next year to hold the clip board. You might want to peek into the Philly trophy case before you start baggin on the Cards. And this is why the Eagles are the Eagles and the Cardinals are the Cardinals

Thanks!I'm pretty sure Jamal Williams was the NT with the Chargers as well, though he seems to have lost a step over the years. Think he's about 35 or 36 now if I remember. Doesn't seem to be a very good free agent market for nose tackles apart from those two.@GregR:http://www.footballsfuture.com/2011/fa/dl.htmlPicked out Abruyo Franklin and Pat Williams.

The Eagles have 7 NFC East titles including 6 in the last 10 years.
That's why they Eagles are the Eagles and the Cardinals are the Cardinals.
Saying these two teams are in the same league together is akin to me saying, neither Leonardo Dicaprio or I have slept with Cindy Crawford, so we're about even.... The baseline of no SB Trophies is a pretty ridiculous line to draw in the sand and say, we;re both on the same side of that line.My bad, they won it twice. Twice their entire time in the NFC west. Look at Mr. Defensive here!
Still defensive...for no reason. You stated what you thought was a fact, I said you were wrong. As for the two teams having the same pedigree, what does that have to do with this discussion? I asked why the poster made that comment in regards to THIS trade, I still haven't been given a reason other than your 3rd grade like defensive nature stating the Eagles NFC East triumphs.Saying these two teams are in the same league together is akin to me saying, neither Leonardo Dicaprio or I have slept with Cindy Crawford, so we're about even.... The baseline of no SB Trophies is a pretty ridiculous line to draw in the sand and say, we;re both on the same side of that line.
Just looked up Moore's career stats compared to Kolb's; damn near identical. And they are both the exact same age.If I was a team in need of QB I would sign Matt Moore. He was very good up until last year.
Moore acquired his stats in much less favorable conditions than Kolb and won't cost $11M a year. As a Steve Smith owner last year, I hated that the Panthers didn't give Moore another year of experience. He was clearly the better QB and the development would have helped.Just looked up Moore's career stats compared to Kolb's; damn near identical. my favorite story about moore involved david carr from a few years ago. he was backing up delhomme at the end of the 2007 season and just brutal. 95 yards passing and 2 ints in the game...If I was a team in need of QB I would sign Matt Moore. He was very good up until last year.
So Carr thinks they are chanting "MORE" when apparently they were begging for matt moore to come in.The fans turned on Carr and the Panthers quickly. After Carr’s third-down pass was batted down near the end zone, John Kasay kicked a 29-yard field goal to cut the halftime deficit to 10-6.
But not before fans started chanted “We want Moore.”
“It’s not like we were purposely trying to not score points,” Carr said. “They were chanting ‘More’—that they wanted more points. And we were trying to give it to them.”
Interesting, I pulled up both of their gamelogs on PFR. If you sort by yards then Kolb's looks much more impressive as most of Moore's games were 200 yards or less.Until you look at number of pass attempts in those games and see Moore had fewer attempts which is the difference in yards. Which leads to looking at yards per pass attempt, where 4 out of Kolb's 8 games with 20+ attempts he was below 6 ypa, while Moore has 11 games with that many attempts and was only below 6 ypa once... and only below 7 ypa three times.Moore acquired his stats in much less favorable conditions than Kolb and won't cost $11M a year. That's pretty funny. Carr is an idiotI remember when Carr was growing his hair long, and everyone was thinking he's the next heartthrob QBmy favorite story about moore involved david carr from a few years ago. he was backing up delhomme at the end of the 2007 season and just brutal. 95 yards passing and 2 ints in the game...If I was a team in need of QB I would sign Matt Moore. Bloom also was high on Devin Thomas and Lorenzo Booker. Just sayin...A tweet from Sigmund Bloom..."PHI getting DRC and a 2nd for Kolb is magic. ARI paying Kolb over 20 million guaranteed is pure foolishness."Eagles won this deal hands down, can't even justify it...but i've never been a fan of Kolb.I like the deal for the cards. Maybe not the money they threw at him though. I prefer Kolb to any QB in the draft, and DRC and a 2012 or 2013 2nd won't get you pick 1, 8, 10, or 12.![]()
And that's why the Eagles are the Eagle and the Cardinals are the Cardinals. They only success they had was when they took a cast off Kurt Warner in the twilight of his career and he did something with them despite themselves. They trade for an unproven guy who has put up mediocre numbers a year after jettisoning their second best player. Maybe Kolb is better than what we've seen after holding the clipboard for another year. But the Eagles, much like the Pats, just seem to know when it is the right time to dump a guy.Interesting, I pulled up both of their gamelogs on PFR. OchoCinco to New England for a 6th round pick and a 7th round pick (not sure if both 2012)Source: Chad Ochocinco to PatriotsBy John ClaytonESPN.comArchiveThe New England Patriots have acquired wide receiver Chad Ochocinco after he accepted a restructured three-year contract from the Patriots, a source told ESPN.com's John Clayton.Terms of the trade weren't known. Ochocinco was seen catching a plane to Boston Thursday. He was scheduled to make $6.35 million for the Bengals this year. The Patriots wanted him to restructure his contract to fit their cap.
If you didn't make the original comment about checking the trophy cases, then why get defensive when I call that a stupid argument? Why not just move on after pointing out my mistake on the NFC West crowns? Oh that's right, you needed to call the kettle black a couple of times about being defensive. That's fine. That being said, the check the trophy case argument is ridiculous. Trading so much and then paying so much for a guy who is not much different than Matt Moore is ridiculous which is why the Cardinals are a horribly run organization and always will be as long as the Bidwells have a hand in running the team, and the Eagles have six NFC East crowns in 10 years. I hope he plays better for the Cards than he did for the Eagles, but something tells me he's not going to be the next Aaron Rodgers who held the clipboard for a few years and then stepped in to be a stud. For the Arizona fans, I hope I'm wrong.Still defensive...for no reason. You stated what you thought was a fact, I said you were wrong. Hate to point out how wrong you are (again) but I didn't make the trophy case comment. All I did was point out that your facts were wrong...you brought up trophies.
