Free agent/Trade TRACKING THREAD (1 Viewer)

Per Rotoworld:

The Bears have made contact with free agent Malcom Floyd.Nothing is close here, but the Bears are poking around for an upgrade at wide receiver. If they are going to let Greg Olsen go, they could certainly use some size to go with Johnny Knox and Earl Bennett. The problem is that Floyd's pricetag could escalate quickly as the Vikings have shown interest as well.
buster davis is the sleeper here, i think.

So the Bears have lost their second WR without adding any, and have let Holmes, Rice, and Lance Moore go without a fight. I knew we wouldn't do squat to address our WR position. Ridiculous.
No way Davis was their 2nd WR. He had 84 yards last year.
second WR...as in Aroma and Davis no longer with the Bears.
Alright got it. Neither of the players are huge losses though, maybe they could still grab Malcolm Floyd if he doesn't go to Baltimore.
Good call. That would be a great place to start.
I think you'll see Roy Williams in a Bears uniform soon. Martz got the best out of Williams in Detroit and he will come at a more humble (cheaper) price than the big names on the market. If this is their mindset, it explains the lack of movement on WRs over the past few days.

In the original post, the team for Quincy Black has not been included.

P.S. Thanks for your work in this thread.

A completely unrelated post: this thread is addictive.
The real addiction is Twitter. I have almost zero use for it, but set it up a couple years ago with just NFL beat writers and news guys. It's like a drug this week.
I just set one up yesterday and I totally agree!!Since it is somewhat related in helping people track FA's....who's good to follow?
Unless someone can tell me how to cut/paste my list, easiest thing to do is go to this thread:http://forums.footballguys.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=484586&st=0&p=10351811&hl=twitter&fromsearch=1entry10351811Or, you can go to my Twitter account (massraider) and just see who I am following. Think I am following about 100 people, and almost all are NFL info guys.

AdamSchefter, WilliamsonNFL, MortReport, and ClaytonESPN should keep you in the know. Also, it is a good idea to find any local beat writers or bloggers, they tend to have info on particular teams as well.

So glad I have no meetings today. I'm just watching the news roll in and trying to get my head around it...
Amazing. With the advent of TV, newspapers no longer had the 'news'. Now, I don't even bother with Sportcenter or Total Access. They are getting the info out 30 minutes after I have digested it, and have moved on to 5 other stories.

For any specific team, buzztap.com's feeds are great. Like @texansbuzztap for the Texans. All news, no "what I ate for dinner" tweets.

Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union Tribune was just on NFLN and mentioned that the Texans offered Eric Weddle the most money but he gave the Chargers a hometown discount to stay there.

@nfldraftbible: Tulloch turned down a 6 million a year offer with 10 million guaranteed from the lions
:confused:Their source is a tweet from Dave Birkett that says nothing concrete.

That's the sweetest hometown discount I ever heard of. Think Weddle should still be able to keep the gas bill paid.

Yes, especially considering that Texas doesn't have income tax while California has an 11% income tax rate on that much money.

Redskins reached agreement with former Cowboys DE Stephen Bowen on a 5-year, $27.5 million deal that includes $12.5 million in guarantees.

Does Bowen signing take the skins out of Cullen Jenkins sweepstakes. It was previously reported that Jenkins and the skins were close.

Anyone get any recent tweets or info on Orton? Is he definitely headed to Miami?
Talks are ongoing, but Orton has reported to Denver. Latest I have heard.I always get nervous when these trade talks drag on.This deal might be waiting for the Kolb thing to resolve, tho. That makes sense.
