This is getting bad, on top of Sjax calling out the coach for Bulger's benching Howard Balzer is saying Linehan (allegedly) tried to trade Holt.

http://www.insidestl.com/STLRams/tabid/137...nking-Ship.aspx

"Wednesday morning an anonymous tip came to a local sports-talk station saying the Rams had released cornerback Fakhir Brown. The caller knew what he was talking about. The following morning, the same voice called at about the same time and said Linehan was trying to release or trade wide receiver Torry Holt because the two despise each other.

Normally, you scoff when crazy things like this are heard, but when this dysfunctional situation is analyzed, the realization hits you that anything is possible."

It's become a real bad situation in St. Louis. Bulger is saying he won't play for Linehan again. The locker room is in turmoil. Players are calling out Linehan, and now he's rumored to be shopping one?

I'll go out on a limb and say that Linehan will be fired on Monday (Sept. 29th).

Rumors are that Fakhir Brown was released by Linehan just to piss off DC Haslett and that Linehan made the QB switch without even first consulting with OC Saunders...sooner this all blows up the quicker they can get to rebuilding it. Hopefully it ends on Monday.

I agree with this Andy. Who replaces him?

I heard a rumor that Bill Cowher just bought a house in the suburbs of St. Louis. Probably just likes the ribs.

No. He bought a house in Strongville, Oh., a Cleveland suburb... per the rumor.

I'd say they turn things over to Saunders on an interim basis, at least for now. I think the key here at this point is removing Linehan moreso than the replacement though.

Haslett for the interim.

I believe the St Louis home rumor was a joke. :goodposting: and taking it seriously is  IMO

My vote is for some Marty Ball in St.Louis...atleast they'd play hard and in all 3 phases of the game

I don't know. Haslett's track record as a head coach is awful. While both sides of the ball are pretty bad, I think Saunders would be the guy to instill more confidence.

Not going on TOO much on a limb.. but I was thinking the exact same thing. Only thing that saves him is either a win or a close loss...

I was being sarcastic. And I don't think Linehan survives regardless. The paperwork is probably already done.

Sure it wasnt Knoxville, TN. He would look good in orange..

Bulger benched without Linehan consulting the coaching staff.

SJax calling out Linehan regarding Bulger

Rumors of Linehan wanting to trade Holt.

He's lost the entire team. I'm liking the Bills -8.5. The Rams are gonna lie down like dogs to ensure Linehan is fired during the BYE.

So what are the odds **** Vermeil is the HC of SL next week
I heard some talk about this last week on the radio. Saunders was his OC in KC, so there is a relationship there, and he still is on good terms with the entire organization. Wouldn't be a stretch... They were also saying that he has the itch again. Sorry no link. It was speculation by the host.

Pretty sure it was Lee's Summit, MO. Can you say Herminated?

The firing should start at the top. The front office is a joke, the coaches hate eachother and the newly inherited owner is trying to sell the team.

he's not awfulaside from the year he got the axe, the Saints were always around .500 and a possible wildcard. The Rams would love for that to happen right now.

A HC with experience also brings stability in that there's an NFL system in mind for the remainder of the year. We don't know just how messed up things are. Next year's HC or Haslett (or whomever) will have to get things settled before they can truly evaluate well. Might as well make that the job for 2008.

Haslett's O wasn't great but they were exciting with a decent line earmarked by bookend Tackles, a very good WR, top notch RB, and a QB that slung it-for better or worse. That's pretty close to what the Rams have now

Pace-Roaf

Turley-Barron(prob advantage Turley but Barron 1st rounder)

Holt-Horn

Ricky-Steven Jackson

Brooks-Bulger or Green

Granted it's a stretch but....we are talking about a temporary job. New head coaches don't often keep the existing staff so Haslett is likely gone after this year too. Haslett can certainly be the FF equivalent of a bye week filler here.

It won't be. Basically, the players want Linehan gone, and will continuing laying down until the front office wises up and fires Linehan.

wouldn't holt's value skyrocket on just about any other team....from a dynasty perspective, I think he's got 3-4 more good years in him.

I would imagine, as long as the QB is standing upright and not on his ### all the time.

Always thought it was a curious motivational tactic, but whatever works for him...http://www.entertonement.com/clips/1422/Ka...ere%27s-a-Gleam
Well, at least he wouldn't have to worry about choking in the playoffs.

As a Lynch owner, I fully endorse the StL defensive front laying down & letting Marshawn run wild!

paging Mark Cuban...please pick up the white courtesy phoneI don't know if he is even remotely interested, but one would think that this could be a very good time to buy an NFL team at a steep discount due to the ##### going up in STL right now. What a mess! Hang in there Rams fans!

for some weird reason this IS the talk in the knoxville area (radio, boosters, etc)we vol fans can only hope as we have nothing else right now

as to the thread here, i'd add that i am changing ALL my survivor picks to BUF this week

I was offered Sjax and Driver for TO and Jamal Lewis in a PPR format and I think I am going to pass. I just think this team is a complete mess. I might regret it (Dynasty format to boot), but I just don't see any reason to believe that Rams are going to bounce. As bad as they are, they don't appear to have hit rock bottom yet.

If Linehan is fired how pissed is Saunders going to be if they give the job to Haslett...

Unless Saunders is a leper in HC terms then you have to think of him...

Haslett's been there longer, and I'm not sure how much Saunders wants to be a HC anymore. He may be just as happy focusing on getting his offense going without Linehan in the way.
