All dead. Howland Reed is the only one left alive who was at the Tower Of Joy when Lyanna died and handed Jon over to Ned. And in truth, we've never seen Howland Reed in the "present day" timeline of events on the show either. Meera and Jojen have never mentioned his death, so I assume he's still around.

Yes, she's Howland Reed's daughter (though there's been some speculation about that out in the nerdverse as well).

He's also the head of House Reed, who are banner men to the Starks and control the land around the Neck (the narrow point leading to the North) in Westeros. And, until recently, he was the only living person who knows who Jon's parents really are.

I'm going through season 1 on Amazon Prime right now - pretty solid. Check out the American version, which aired on FX (The Bridge, same name as the original Danish/Swedish version) if you haven't already. Set in El Paso/Juarez.

we watched the bridge when it first aired- agree, it was good (other than the barely functional autistic detective chick).

started watching the tunnel and got through most of the first episode before we realized it was the same story. we stopped- even though it all looked good- because we'd already seen it. do you think it was different enough to warrant a watch?

There is enough of a difference to make it worthwhile in my opinion, but I have only seen the first four episodes of The Tunnel. There are certain things that obviously won't be a surprise if you've watched The Bridge but I like Dillane (and his character) a lot and enjoy these types of shows (Trapped, The Fall, Broadchurch, Happy Valley, etc.) in general. I like seeing it all unfold, it doesn't bother me that I already know the broad strokes. I also think it will be worth it since season 2 should be completely different than season 2 of The Bridge. Personally I liked season 2 of The Bridge more than season 1 and was disappointed it got canned.

Clemence Poesy does a better job of playing that role than Diane Kruger did. It's much more subtle in The Tunnel, at least so far.

She (Meera) is actually Jon's sister and not Howland Reed's daughter at all, that he took her and raised her as his own just like Ned did with Jon. I don't buy it myself for various reasons. Too Star Wars rip offy for one. It also seems like she's not the right age to be Jon's twin for another. But the people posing the theory note that she looks more like Jon (and Arya) than she does a Reed. You can find more about this hypothesis via googling if you're really interested.

I think y'all might be making too much of her "bend the knee" comment.  If she claims to be ruler of the 7 kingdoms by birthright, its only normal for her to demand a pledge of loyalty from anyone purporting to be a "king" of one of the 7.  That said, I don't expect Snow to agree, unless its part of a quid pro of some sort. I guess we'll see how it goes this weekend.

I posted that in this thread last week. It seems likely he knows Jon's true parentage and he was one of Ned's closest friends and allies and his children are connected to Bran. It would make sense for him to show up at some point.

The first sentence of that doesn't make sense to me because I'm assuming Bran would know something like that at this point (and it doesn't make sense from a practical standpoint), but regardless I'd be careful about "predictions" moving forward.

For what its worth, I think that theory has been out there for several years - pre-dating any story lines that were written for this season or the next.

have not seen the Bridge, but I love what Poesy is doing with her character, one of my favorite characters on TV right now.

Season 2 of The Tunnel seems a bit darker than the first season, but we are still enjoying it.

Greyscale guy (Jorah) is Jeor Mormont's son and Lyanna's uncle. If you recall, Jeor was the old Night Watch Lord Commander who picked Jon Snow as his steward.  Lyanna's mother, the previous head of House of Mormont, was Jorah's sister.

And Lyanna's mother fought with Rob in the battle of the 5 kings. It's not just the men of bear island that kick ###!

Correct, although now that the cat is out of the bag on Jon Snow's real parentage this may not be the case anymore. I think those quotes about Reed are from before the 4th or 5th things that don't exist were even written and before the show was even being thought about, so we are talking like 10~15 years ago back when people were only guessing or had wild theories.
