I read that the new Mountain actor is 6'9'' 419 pounds. Jeebus.

Hapthor Bjornsson, I believe his name is. He finished in the top 5, IIRC, at the last World's Strongest Man competition.

I know it's taboo....but I thought by the books he was bigger. I thought he was like Andre the Giant sized.

Hard to find actors that are the size of Andre, I'm afraid.

True....but this guy is more like The Hill that Rides than The Mountain that Rides.

This guy seriously isn't big enough for you? He's comically huge and one of the strongest men on Earth.

They had to resort to some camera trickery to make him look bigger standing near Cersei....but he's still a big actor. I'm sure he's also a strong dude.....but he falls short in the book descriptions of the character; 8 feet tall, able to wear chain mail under plate mail; swings a 6 foot sword...etc. etc.

It's a shame they couldn't find someone to really nail that role.

Yup, considering they've used 3 different actors to play The Mountain. They should have had all three sit on each others shoulders and put a big cloak on him. Then I'd be impressed.

His head is the size of her torso. You probably have to be pretty strong to be showing abs at 420 pounds.

Actually, my clowning on my original comments kinda shows that I'm not that offended by a smaller Mountain. But I akin it to having Arnold from Different Strokes talking The Gooch up for 3 seasons as THE number one Bully.....and the reveal happens....he's nothing more than a little bigger than the rest of the kids. Same with Wolowitz's mom in A Big Bang Theory. We've been innudated with the magnificance of her size. How dissapointed would it be if she were to be finally revealed as a slightly over weight woman?

Chances are they wouldn't offer a contract to a guy who's only needed for a few scenes. I'm guessing they did try to get the original guy back, and he was busy. Or maybe he wanted too much money. Or maybe he was no good on the set. Who knows?

Daario was recast because he's the new lead in the transporter films.

I think season 2 would have made more sense to people had the mountain been the same guy. I feel like a lot of tv only people didn't realize it was the same character at harrenhall for a while.
