Game of Thrones, tv only, books don't exist, no backstory...NERDS already ruining a series that hasn't started (1 Viewer)

I love Tyrion, but I am just not sure what he brings to this specific situation that will improve it besides some humor. He doesn't have gold or ships, his family name is garbage now, he is not an elite warrior. Maybe I am missing something, but I just don't know what we get out of him besides some advice- maybe he gets her ### to the Iron Bank since he knows how much the throne owes?

I think his character would have been better served staying in Westeros on the run and undermining Cersei. Not sure anything less than him riding off on a damn dragon will have made this slow build up and Dany's story the past few seasons worth it.
I disagree with this. He was Master of Coin and knows how bad the Lannisters are in debt and can sink them with the Iron Bank. He has studied war theory, history, battles and uses his mind as a weapon, something NO ONE in the Dany camp has really brought to the table yet. He's been to the Wall and knows the framework of that part of the world that Dany has never been close to seeing. Tyrion has been everywhere and made mental notes of everything he's seen so far (his comments on Jorah's father as the leader of the Night's Watch). The Vale, Winterfell, The Wall, Kings Landing. He knows Stannis. He knows what an absolute mess Tommen and the current council are in. He gives her a huge asset with his knowledge.

yea seriously. within the first few episodes, tyrion and danny should have rode dragons into westeros, Jon snow and the wildings should have killed all he wight walkers, stannis should have attacked winterfell, bran should have warged into a dragon, and arya should have killed all the people on her list.

not sure what the writers are waiting for. hell, all of the above should have happened within he first half of season one.

whats the deal with all his waiting for stories to unfold. jut get to the punchlines already.
Huh....all this time I had thought of them as White walkers. Definitely makes more sense as Wight.
In Meereen they call them White Biters

I get it, he is by far better than anyone we have seen with her yet, but your post assumes:

1. She will do anything with this knowledge

2. She will ever get to Westeros to use said knowledge.

So far in 5 seasons we have barely had a glimpse of her ability to do either.

If you can't tell, I am done with Dany and wish Tyrion was anywhere else.

Better episode overall, a few thoughts...

- just get it right out the way, my sand snake moved. She's up there with Missandei, Dany, and Robb's wife who I always liked.

- Religious fanatic storyline is weak - one of the weakest the show has told and I hope it's self-contained in this season.

- it's been 2 years since I've found anything Dany has done interesting, hoping that's about to pick up.

- Jon Snow has become the best character and story on the show, I didn't think I'd ever see that.

- How long are Brienne and Podrick going to hang out? It's obviously been a while since they've gotten to wherever they are. Move on in. Also that woman getting flayed was brutal. Sansa has bad luck with men, being setup with the two biggest psychopaths in the world.
1. Had me LMAO

2. I believe she has written off any showing her succulent melons, so don't get your hopes up.
Btw while this is true, the astute watcher was treated to a nipple slip from her in this last episode. Better than nothing

I agree to an extent, but I do think that Tyrion being there provides some hope. I don't think Dany has any idea how weak the current regime is in King's Landing. Hopefully that knowledge alone will convince her that everything doesn't have to be perfect and now is the time to strike so she will get on with it.

I hear you on that. Personally, I was craning my neck looking at the tv from an angle trying to get a peek. Unfortunately, that end up being more frustrating than arousing.

That's what I do when college cheerleaders are on tv and getting thrown into the air.

I lay on my floor and look up at the tv hoping for a upskirt shot....

I mean you're pretty weird

Reminds me of Splash when John Candy drops some change and looks up a woman's skirt and then says, "Hey, I stick with things that work."

eta. and yes, I'm weird.

Q: regarding Tyrion and Sansa's marital status...are they technically still married? was it annulled since they never actually "consummated"?

seems like the logical step for the MoD/Imp story arc would be for them to get married (much to Stony Jorrah's chagrin i'm sure) and align their houses to rule over Westeros. in that scenario [i think] Tyrion would be next in line for the throne if Cersi doesn't make it past the Sparrows.

but if that were to happen, would MoD+Imp supersede Tommen+Magary in terms of lineage and right to the Iron Throne (assuming the Lord of Grammar doesn't put up a fight)?

That's fine if you're checked out of her story....but where is your end game then without her? Stannis wins the North, then takes over everything from top to bottom slowly? Tommen maintains hold on his crumbling empire? Roose Bolton? Jon Snow's rise to the top isn't taking any less time than Dany's.

It's Fire and Ice. And face it. She's the Fire and she ain't going anywhere. Tyrian there now is a good thing.

Cersei, my favorite character, is in the worst trouble of her entire life it seems. She's not exactly the brightest bulb in Westoros. She helped the Sparrows with no idea that she would be a target of the Sparrows, although that was all too predictable. In an interview George RR Martin compared the Sparrows to the Protestant Reformation, which makes sense to some degree (although it was the excesses of the church that Martin Luther attacked, and not royalty.) For me a better analogy would be the ayatollahs in Iran who overthrew the Shah with the help and support of some of the richest families in Tehran, only for those families to discover that they too were targets of the ayatollahs.

She's been flat out dumb. Here she's the mother of the sitting king, born of incest - and she acts as if no one can have leverage over her. That poorly kept secret gets a weak king ousted sooner rather than later.

Here's a question I have - You know how the Red Witch is always thirsting for King's blood, right? Well, wasn't Maester Aemon the son and brother of a King? I wonder why she didn't go after his blood?

Right. Love her or hate her Dany is the protagonist.

We are all assuming and hoping that Dany and the dragons are the Fire. Maybe it is just Targs in general, maybe it will be dragons but no Dany, maybe it is something silly to do with the Lord of Light.

Tyrion there is a good thing to hopefully facilitate something cool happening. Just saying I think Tyrion doing just about anything else would have been better.

Sam called him a dragon at the funeral. However at the wall who you where matters notAnybody besides John know who he was?
 must have missed that.

Pretty dumb then, as you would think his blood would have been more powerful than ******* blood.

probably because he couldnt get it up
He would have found a way for that. Gotta have a boner potion in his arsenal.

Sex = smoke babies, but she burns and leaches people for stuff too.

I don't want to get flayed here but...she did in the books.

I thought that guy following Brienne around was the ******* barratheon. guess not.
That guy's name is Poderick (Pod) - he's actually a Lannister and was originally Tyrion's squire. Gendry is the name of the *******.
His last name is payne. House payne is loyal to house lannister
