Game of Thrones, tv only, books don't exist, no backstory...NERDS already ruining a series that hasn't started (1 Viewer)

The white walkers are the ones standing up on the hill guiding the action, and the one Jon snow fought in the burning building. They can shatter normal blades, and they control the zombies (which some people are calling wights). The white walkers are intelligent and recruit new white walkers from human babies. That's what the guy with all the daughters was doing - ####### his young daughters, them if they had a son, giving it up to the white walkers.

The regular zombies/wights are more intelligent than regular movie zombies. They knew to attack the wooden wall and the kids knew to stop and scope out the new wildling lady before attacking her. But the white walkers can control them, like when they sent a bunch over the cliff.

When a regular person dies up north of the wall they can become a zombie unless you burn their bodies. Not everyone who dies becomes a zombie but it's better to burn all the bodies. The zombies are harder to kill than regular people but can be burned to death and it seems like chopping their heads off or crushing then works. Falling from a cliff or having no guts didn't seem to bother them.

so was it just me or was anyone else waiting for the dude in the cloak in the boat at the end, to jump up and start attacking or something. They just seem like they focused on that guy too much
not just you
me too
it's tv. they want you to focus on him to misdirect you from the nice pair of boobs at upper left behind him. that... or so that they make the point crystal clear that he's raising an army of the dead that will get bigger and bigger with every battle.

huh? There's a dude in the boat with his back to the camera we are talking about not the white walker

you should have written that as clearly as you did in the op then.

You really don't want people to like you, do you? ;)

well you should have made that as clear as it already was for guys like me that don't read things clearly. c'mon, selfish guy.

I was sure it was Gandalf.
I noticed the guy in the cloak, but I don't recall the focus on him. I guess it could be someone who dies and starts some bad stuff, but outside of seeing him, it didn't register with me. It might be people looking for clues after the fight scene with Bronn. That time they clearly focused on him getting cut leading to the best scene, sorry white walkers, this season.

actually I thought he was facing snow.

just seemed like when they jumped in the boat they are yelling go go go. And this dude is just sitting there.

And a couple more shots of him just sitting there

I think Needle is V-steel.
I don't think so. I think that was made in winterfell by the local smith.

My count we got Jon snows from the former lord commander. Bre of Tarth via Jamie. I would think Tomen has his brothers sword.

That's 3. Who else has one?
At the end of the day, even if they melted down the V-steel into arrowheads, there won't be enough V-steel to make any difference in the final battle. Going to have to rely on dragonass.

No love yet for the giant?

Spouted off the one-liner of the week, commenced to stomping undead asses, broke out a flaming caber & went yard on a few wights, then Fee Fi Fo Fummed his bad self into the Shivering Sea.

I want that dude on my team when the #### goes down.
The giant was awesome. I was waiting for them to have a giant-wight knock over the wall and then have a giant fight.

That was a fantastic fight scene and loved the giant mowing down the wights with his tree trunk.

Some, including the show's creators.

Or actual dragonfire. I think that might work pretty well.

Thanks. :thumbup:

Someone said it above and I had a similar thought..... i wonder if the head white walker is going to end up being reagar or whatever his name was...

This episode really gave you a lot to work with.
Or Benjin Stark, Jon's uncle who never returned from north of the wall back in season 1. I thought he and Jon stared at each other for a while. I was trying to figure out if the armor the WW was wearing had Benjin's marking.
That's what I thought as well.

That giant isn't going to be able to fit on a boat. I wonder if they will turn him into a white walker giant.
Re-wound the fight with the WWs. One WW was biting at the giants ear/neck area before it was thrown into the water and the giant put his hand to the bite area.. Not sure of the significance to that (just to show giant reaction to a bite or, pointing out that he was bitten). If the later, and it causes you to turn, that's going to be one tough ### WW.

I don't think he recognized him, he was just super impressed by what he was doing. And the WW was staring back while he did it because he's a badass and he was all "I'm gonna stare your ### down while I raise this army of your fallen comrades....#####".

save it for the Walking Dead thread, guy.

That was because they were setting up the money shot of him raising all the recently deceased in one swoop.
"in the boat" being the key reference here
Gotcha. I was waiting for someone in the boat to start yelling " SCREW YOU,#######S" or something like that. I'd be nice to see the boat people have a little fight left in them.

I think what causes u to turn is darth mauls majic

How many White Wakers have we seen? A dozen maybe? And two of them have been killed. The number of actual WWs requiring Valyrian steel or dragonglass to be killed may be pretty small. Then again if all of Craster's sons were assimilated that's 100 right there.

I thought this was one of the best episodes so far.

Favorite parts:

- Giant boot stomp of wight;

- Giant flinging people off its back.

Most Humorous:

- Jon telling the people to get in line when everyone rushes toward the boats;

- the boat waiting for Jon and his friends;

- people running into the water when the panic starts even though there were empty boats available.

What I would have liked to see:

- for the wights that jumped off the cliff it would have been great to some of the wights attempting to walk but falling as their legs were smashed or, having half their chest caved in;

- having the WW horse jump from the cliff (it was strange seeing the leader of the WWs on the cliff and two minutes later he's at the shore.

Why? Just because they did the dramatic arm raising, I don't think that is the reason they turn. What I mean by that is that they can turn based on death by a WW/wight and there is just a delay. Darth Maul doesn't actually have to "turn" them himself. It all has to do with the WWs, but I think it is more automatic and he doesn't have to raise them. I could be wrong, but I am pretty sure that the wights we saw at Castle Black and in the forest (the guy who saw one and got decapitated by Ned Stark) weren't turned by Darth Maul raising his arms.

Two questions for ya'll

1) Do any of my non-book reading fans plan on reading the books after the series?

2) If you were a wildling on shore and the wights are coming- there are no boats left, what do you do? Stand and fight or jump in the water to a watery grave (no way those who jumped in will be able to swim to the boats in that frigid of water and in those bulky furs/animal skins)?

Eaten alive by zombies or jump into icewater. hmmm, tough one

For those talking about dead Southern kings turning into white walkers, I'd point out the only thing we've seen turned into a white walker was a LIVING baby. And the only thing we've seen dead people do is become animate again. Moving corpses who are not white walkers.

I suppose the writer could decide to let them also turn the dead into white walkers if they wanted, but everything they've shown so far suggests it doesn't work that way.
The only reason they let Crastor live was because he was giving them babies to turn into white walkers.

I can see somebody thinking Cersei is the most interesting character to them and appreciate how great of an acting job is being done. But to say she's your favorite implies that you actually like her. She's probably the most reprehensible person in the show save for the Boltons. Even reek feels guilt. Cersei had no remorse, has made horribly stupid choices, and is delusional with perceived power.
Yeah, she's awesome. Plus, really hot.

I can certainly understand how one think Cersei's compelling -- I agree, and much moreso than Ramsay or what have you -- but using the phrase "my favorite character" is just pure :fishing:

Are you implying dragonfarts are fatal to white walkers? Don't recall that coming up in the show - I hope that is not book knowledge!

Only if they have been eating spicy food. And if you are a parent out there "Dragons love Tacos" is a great book to read to your kid.

Why? I don't get why people keep saying this. Is our culture become so rigid that we're not allowed to have villains as our favorite characters?

This is fiction. Those aren't real people being killed. I can root for the bad guy if I want. Cersei is a scheming ##### and if I were living in Westeros I strongly doubt that I would be on her "side". But I'm not living there; I'm a viewer of a soap opera and she is my favorite character and I want her to win and crush all her enemies. What's wrong with that?

Darth Vader is my favorite Star Wars character. Venom is my favorite Marvel character. I always liked the bad guys. My brother wanted Heman but I wanted Skeletor.

Someone needs to do a video adding a Jim Ross voiceover when Ray Walston slow plays raising the dead at the end of the episode.

She's also the only one who's verbalized the shows title...right?

She won't die anytime soon IMO....certainly not from the cult...too important.
