They had people guarding the doors, and keeping them bolted....I hate to be too negative, but the way that the writers handled this came across as pretty lazy. She basically knocked down some VERY unsteady fires in a cabin in the middle of a desert.
At least put in the time and effort to let me know that she'd planned this out more. I don't need much -- maybe a McGuiver-like or A-Team type montage of her prepping the building for the trap. Show that they thought through some angles; figured out weaknesses in the plan and adjusted. Something.
Other than that I love the show. And I can't wait to see a little Wildling-on-giantwoman loving.
They also let Jorah and Daario fight two guys in between a bunch of buildings in a "city" of huts and tents.I hate to be too negative, but the way that the writers handled this came across as pretty lazy. She basically knocked down some VERY unsteady fires in a cabin in the middle of a desert.

Meh. Maybe a little lazy, but for myself, there is so much story to tell here that I would rather they didn't spend screen time and budget spelling out events - like the ground clearly being prepped with something flammable - that can easily be inferred from how the scene plays out.I hate to be too negative, but the way that the writers handled this came across as pretty lazy. They are definitely getting baited into starting a civil war. But Olenna doesn't appear to have many options - their house can't risk her grand daughter getting marginalized like Cersei was.How obvious is it that the High Sparrow has something planned and is playing the Lannisters and leaders.
"Ok Tommen, I'm going to tell you a very important secret, but you CAN'T TELL ANYONE, ok?"
Obviously he knew he was going to run and tell Cersei, and knew what kind of result he'd get from the Tyrells. I just don't buy the old lady Tyrell being so obviously played.
They do appear on screen together in episode 1 when Robert arrives at Winterfell, but there is no interplay between them.I can't remember myself, but in the commentary on HBO Go, they said that this is the first time they've been on screen together at all, ever. So they apparently didn't meet (on screen) even in episode 1. (Unless I misunderstood them.)
The High Sparrow is trying to lure them into armed confrontation which he is hoping has the result of the people of King's Landing raising up in support in open revolt alongside the Faith Militant. He has basically said as much before in his "we are nothing but together we can overcome Empires" talk before with Jamie. How obvious is it that the High Sparrow has something planned and is playing the Lannisters and leaders.

I'm not sure what her options are given her current predicament but Margaery doesn't appear to be quite as willing to give in to the Sparrow's game as Cersei was. She's clearly working him. Whether that will help her in any way remains to be seen but she's not giving in like Cersei did. They are definitely getting baited into starting a civil war. No. Only getting better.Come on. There were some cool moments for sure - mainly Sansa and Jon meeting up. I didn't think that would happen so soon, and that was fantastic. Like somebody else said, I am just done with Ramsey. To me he is just one note and uninteresting at this point. And I get that we are supposed to be distracted by Dany's boobies, but she is still doing the same #### she was doing at the end of season one - comes out of a burning building and has Dothraki following her. 'cept now she doesn't have dragons and she is still no closer to having ships.![]()
There is still a lot of praise for the show every week, so maybe I am in the minority. I still dig it, but am getting pretty tired of a few story lines. Do you guys think that it has dipped a bit, but still better than most shows? Or do you think that it has maintained it's greatness from what I would consider it's peak of Seasons 3 and 4?
One of the highlights of the episode. We are not asking the important question: Are we going to be seeing some Tormund and Brienne loving? He seemed to like what he saw...
Hard to say but I wouldn't be too concerned. She asked for Tyrion's help on how to get what she wants and he's paving the way for that to happen. Plus he can talk his way out of any corner he might get put into. I think he'll be fine.I agree early season 6 is light years better than early season 5.
The dany ending last night was epic. A march to meereen is coming.
I think she will not be pleased with tyrion. Releasing the dragons and making deals with the masters
Sir Davos.Brien vs the red lady and sir what's his name was a weird moment, since she was literally the one who killed renly.
So the nights watch is going to risk their entire force to fight another battle and the wall will continue to be undefended. Does this seem like a good idea? Didn't they just fight a bunch of ice zombies like a month ago?
Night's Watch isn't going anywhere.... all 30 or so of them that is left.Sir Davos.
I don't think the Night's Watch will be joining the fight at Winterfell. Aren't they supposed to be neutral? It will be the Wildings that Jon takes south. They were the 2000 fighting men that was mentioned, not Night's Watch.
Whoa. Be still my heart.Out of my ### prediction: Either Dany or the slavers will kill Tyrion. That's the big fan-crusher of the season.
I'm kind of afraid of the septic myself.I feel nothing for cersei or Jamie or their ####ty little kid right now. Every scene is just like, oh, is this when they do something interesting? Not yet? Never mind. How about you tell your kid to tell the small council that you're on the small council now. He's afraid of the septic but he's not completely unable to speak.
Maybe their use of tanks is how they are such a power now. That always seemed a bit too glossed over. I think Arya could take out a good portion of the Lancel army.I'm kind of afraid of the septic myself.
Not your best work. Trying a little too hardI enjoyed the episode because i understand its all still setup right now, but as a standalone episode, meh.
Khaleesi is probably not going to be happy with tyrion when she finds out he made slavery legal again while she was gone. Oh sorry I didn't know that was your big thing.
Brien vs the red lady and sir what's his name was a weird moment, since she was literally the one who killed renly.

Grandma tyrell was much more interesting when she was sparring with tywin lanister. She's kind of been a one note sidekick since he died.
Ramsey killing the wildling girl quickly was out of character. I'm not rooting for more torture porn, but that was an unusually quick and painless murder for him.
Sansa is still pretty annoying but her character arc has gone from pleading for people to stop doing horrible things to he and accidentally making her life even worse to pleading for people to stop doing horrible things to her brother and accidentally making everyone's life worse.
So the nights watch is going to risk their entire force to fight another battle and the wall will continue to be undefended. Does this seem like a good idea? Didn't they just fight a bunch of ice zombies like a month ago?
The fight at winterfell is an ambush. It's not going to be 2000 vs 5000. They have the car starks and stuff. But then the Knights of the vale come in.
Really looking forward to watching theon and Yara argue about politics with their uncle that was in that one episode for like two minutes and killed their dad.
Those were absolutely her aereolae. I'd recognize them anywhere. If they found a body double they must have dubbed her face and those oversized buttons on there. That's got to be a weird cgi skill to put in your serious graphic artist resume.
I can live without any arya or bran for an episode or three, but their plot lines were noticeably absent. I think they're two of the most interesting right now even if they're still in set up mode, too. Frankenmountain might be third of the three which I did not expect.
Still this episode was one of the best of the last two seasons for one simple reason. No sand snakes. Still upset that of the 9 characters they developed in dorn the only ones they kept were the ####### sand snakes.
you know there's gotta be some nerd on redit who's done a pixel by pixel analysis to prove they were indeed her glorious mamsThose were absolutely her aereolae. I'd recognize them anywhere. I said "/thread" above.A lot of Armies are on the move.
Dany with her new Dothraki horde and the Unsullied and Second Sons back in Mereen.
Wildings in the north. Possibly other houses of the north sans Bolton, Umber and Karstark.
House Bolton with House Umber and Karstark in alliance.
House Tyrell mobilizing against the Faith Militant.
The Eyrie heading north.
The Sand Snakes assumingly gearing for battle against House Lannister and by extension the King.
House Lannister kind of not moving but Dorne is gunning for them.
There should be some battles in our future.
Brings me to... what about the River Lands? Who is in charge there? Did Black Fish survive?
Did Tommen die already and make you King?!I said "/thread" above.
Lori is mowing the grass. The tent burned too easily? We're back to "who's mowing the grass" around here.
That would be a killer for the show for a lot of people.Out of my ### prediction: Either Dany or the slavers will kill Tyrion. That's the big fan-crusher of the season.
On the bright side, though, if people start pissing and moaning about moats it actually would be relevant instead of just pointless and sad.The tent burned too easily? We're back to "who's mowing the grass" around here.
I'm totally cool with Sansa killing Littlefinger. I've been waiting for someone from the Stark family to take down a major figure who wronged them. It's long overdue.Seems like Littlefinger is going to have a little problem next episode. I assume his endgame is the Iron Throne, with becoming Warden of the North next on his list of conquests. Seeing Sansa and Jon Snow is going to make that difficult.
He basically told the Vale that Sansa had been kidnapped, thus mobilizing their forces - if Sansa tells a different story, then Littlefinger could go flying out the Moon Door. I assume that when Sansa confronts him, he will swear that he had no idea Ramsey was such an animal, or that Roose claimed he had Ramsey under control. Littlefinger will then claim he was coming to rescue her with the Knights of the Vale, but that he might have fibbed about her circumstances - in order to get their help. So, Sansa (and Jon) will have to keep that secret...
But, with both Sansa, and now Jon, alive and kicking - there is no chance Littlefinger can become Warden of the North - unless he doublecrosses back and gets the support of the Lannisters - but even for this series, that would take too long to happen, and winter is coming...
Your spoiler... that isn't what that teaser represented. The faces that can be used by the Faceless are those people who cam in to drink from the poisoned well. I think that was just an artistic teaser.Spoiler for something I thought I caught on a Season 6 teaser trailer a month or so ago:
They were showing all the faces of people that Arya could use - scanning through and seeing all her family - Jon was one I believe. Could have sworn that Tyrion's face was there too.
Yeah, I would be surprised if Tyrion is killed. They made a big deal about the Targaryens having 3 dragons, and 3 dragon riders when they conquered Westeros. Tyrion befriending the two dragons in captivity is certainly a clue that he may be one of the riders.I might stop watching the show if Tyrion is killed.
I can remember the first time we saw her nekkid. I'm calling that it was NOT Emilia Clarke's body in that scene. Sort of like in the walk of shame Cersei did last season it was not Lena Headey's body in that scene.Welcome back Emilia.
She is saying it was her.I can remember the first time we saw her nekkid. I'm calling that it was NOT Emilia Clarke's body in that scene. Sort of like in the walk of shame Cersei did last season it was not Lena Headey's body in that scene.
I remember his spoiler and from what I remember of seeing it, the faces were pretty much everyone from the show, i.e. not showing who might be dying, but just an ad for the show.Your spoiler... that isn't what that teaser represented. The faces that can be used by the Faceless are those people who cam in to drink from the poisoned well. I think that was just an artistic teaser.
But those were The Unburnt, Queen of the Andals, the Rhoynar, and of the First Men Queen of Meereen, Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea, Breaker of Chains and Mother of Dragons boobs!![]()
How many posts do we need about 20 seconds worth of boobs on HBO? Do your wives check your search history or something?
You would expect that they'd be a lot nicer. But those were The Unburnt, Queen of the Andals, the Rhoynar, and of the First Men Queen of Meereen, Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea, Breaker of Chains and Mother of Dragons boobs!
I likey'ed 'em.You would expect that they'd be a lot nicer.
That would be a massive blow to the hot chick scale on this show. With the Dothraki, I half expect Dany to level the cities of Yunkai and Astapor, thus eliminating slavery......but the manner in which Tyrion's conversation went (both with the Masters and Grey Worm and Missandi) I wouldn't be surprised if Dany doesn't do anything about slavery as it would be a waste of her resources. To that, I'd think that Grey Worm and Missandi would be more likely to bite it this season.
