Game of Thrones, tv only, books don't exist, no backstory...NERDS already ruining a series that hasn't started (2 Viewers)

The last time someone mentioned Dany's name to Cersei she sneered and outright dismissed her as any kind of a threat. I doubt at this time she's even thinking about someone coming from the sea. And who could be in a position to warn her? I could see word getting to her about Jon being the new King in the North but Dany's oncoming army might totally catch her by surprise. Who's left in King's Landing to advise her who has any idea Dany even exists at this point?
Maester qyburn had the hand of the king pin on him at the end. He has a network of little birds now too. The small council will be him and jamie pretty much

Stannis sent Davos to the Wall. Also, Stannis' army was killed so nobody was left to tell Davos what happened. Only one person knew and she wasn't gonna say anything.
A large portion of Stannis army deserted after he burned his daughter at the stake. Maybe they all headed south but you'd think that story would have got around quick.

Don't think Qyburn is much of a Hand to be honest, especially when it comes to military decisions. Does Jamie even know about Dany? I don't remember him being in King's Landing when everyone there was talking about her. And I think once word comes about there being a new Stark in town that's likely going to dominate their thinking. Dany could catch them completely unawares.

And still no one has answered what the dragons do as they're crossing the ocean.  Bob like ducks?  Or swim like one of those birds that dive into the water then come back out.
Sharks sink to the bottom of the ocean and die if they stop swimming (I've been watching shark week). I would assume its something like that, they can glide a long ways and rest/conserve energy while doing so. Or maybe they saved a couple big ships for them to take a break on.

The fleet probably wasn't ever very far from shore on there way from Mareen to Dorne.  http://quartermaester.info/

If they needed to hunt or rest they could have gone to shore.
hey- thanks.. first time I've ever seen a map of this world, and I was wondering how things layed out.

biggest shock- bear island is up in the ####, inches away from white walkers without the wall for protection. no wonder that little girl kicks ###.

So we found out the Wall has some magic that keeps the Walkers out. Are the Walkers looking for a way to disable the magic or destroy the wall? If they were to destroy it, wouldn't dragon fire be the best way to melt a giant ice all? I wonder if somehow their is a twist that it is the dragon fire that ends up bringing down the wall and endangering Westeros.

I loved this season, but you have to admit that there are some really trite, facepalm moments when the show really beats us over the head with something. It really panders to the simpletons watching from time to time. It was mentioned one page back, but deserves to be repeated.

Ramsey purposely missing on the first 3 arrows, then perfectly sniping the (running) kid right through the heart from a mile away? Give me a break. I haven't rolled my eyes that much in a long time with this show. An inch in any direction and he would have survived just like all of the other characters do when shot with an arrow.

Then the grand wildfire stash plan almost being ruined because they left it wide open for anyone to wander in and pinch out three candles? Again, maaaajor rolling of the eyes. Such a pandering way to create fake suspense.

Both of these moments took away from two of the most incredible scenes I've seen in GoT, which was a shame. Still A+ TV though.

They disabled the magical anti-white walker door on that little cave pretty easily.

Nope.  All good to me

There's supposedly a horn that can bring down the wall if blown. Dunno if the Night's King is gonna find it or whatever, it seems like he's just kind of chilling out on the other side.

They have been stuck on the other side of the Wall for awhile though
Why haven't they just sailed around the wall?  The map referenced a few posts up shows water on both sides of the wall.

I mean, I get they're (un)dead and all but they have all these other mad skills.  Seems like someone ought to be able to build a makeshift raft out of logs or something.  Or just force the wildlings to do it.

May not be news but the next season will air in April and will have just 7 episodes followed with an additional 6 episodes later in the year. This is less than the 15 they quoted before, but it still could be equal to 15-50 minute chunks, but it does look like they have cut the show by a couple hours.

Ditto. Both of those episodes were 10 out of 10 for me. They delivered on every mark.
The only real head scratcher for me was Sansa not telling Jon about the vale en route.  Still makes zero sense to me even with Sansa apologizing for it.  Just seems so unbelievable.

You know it's a badass show when those are the types of things that people try to pick out and complain about. Give me a break. Just sit back and enjoy it

I'll go along with the idea that Sansa had not heard back from Little Finger before the battle began so she didn't know if his troops were coming and didn't want to promise Jon something he wouldn't be getting.

Hopefully some/many of the episodes will be longer like this season's finale to compensate for the shorter season schedule.

I think it's more likely that, after she got snubbed at the war council, she didn't think Jon would let her leave camp to get Littlefinger so she went rogue.

Even if she did hear back...

"Only a fool would trust Littlefinger."

Until the episodes actually shoot and wrap, I'll assume HBO will continue to plead (read: throw $$$ at those two) to draw out the schedule as long as possible. They don't want this going away.

The White Walkers weren't able to deal with water in Hardhome.

One thing I took away about the finale after the Tower of Joy scene is the Baratheon family lineage is more screwed up than an episode of Maury Povich.

Or build an airplane

Surely  This show could go for 10 seasons.  I mean it's still peaking in season 6.  The Walking Dead,  which I used to love,  has completely unraveled.

Ramsey missed those first ones on purpose. He wanted Jon to be in a certain spot for his plan of attack.

Well no one was going to volunteer to light it.  Candles seemed to me to be a good way to be able to light it, allow everyone to gather for the trial, and get yourself far away before the explosion.

I guess the eye rolls with that is why lure Lancel down there?  Maybe I'm reading it wrong, but the kid seemed to be egging Lancel on to get him down there.

I think Cersei wanted him to know that she was exacting her vengeance, in the same vein as Arya removing her mask before finishing Frey.

Finally went back to re watch S1.

I had forgotten so much about who's who and where they came from in this damn series.

What I still missed though is why Robert Baratheon wanted Daenerys dead?  And why was Ned so opposed to killing her?

Robert wanted her dead because she had a claim as the legitimate ruler to those who still saw Robert as a usurper and because he wanted all the Targaryen's dead as revenge for what he perceived Rhaegar did to Lyanna.

Ned was opposed because he was a decent guy who didn't order teenage girls to die for something her brother and father did. He also didn't see her as much of a threat.

I don't think he wanted him in a certain spot for attack purposes. I think he wanted to expressly kill Rickon with Jon just on the verge of saving him and wanted Jon to see it up close.

Probably wanted Jon within range of all of their arrows at that point too. Once he was there by Rickon, that first volley that hit all around him. I thought maybe the burning flayed men things might have been some kind of distance markers too, but I know nothing about archery.

We're nitpicking of course but there's probably a better way to do that than to potentially risk your entire plan (ahem) blowing up in the event a 7 year old wasn't able to injure a grown man just severely enough where he couldn't have gotten to the candles 10 seconds sooner.

Could there have been a backup plan in case that happened? A plan that we are not privy to because it wasn't needed?

Been working on predictions more:

- Urine Greyjoy, realizing he has no shot with Dany, offers his ships (And his ####) to Cersei. Because the Greyjoys are good with boats, and the Dothraki are afraid of the sea, Urine does a lot of damage.  In the end however, the dragons turn the tide.  Dany takes her depleted fleet and heads North to regroup.

- Dany meets Jon around the same time Bran shows up to tell them they are related.  Sansa gets pissed and jealous and reluctantly heads south with Littlefinger.

- Jamie and Bronn kill Cersei and are forced to take the black.  On the way North he meets Jon and Dany who pardon him. Jamie joins up with them.  A nice tearful reunion with Tyrion takes place.  Beer is drunk, whores are ####ed.

- The white walkers start invading places south of the wall.  The night's watch is decimated.  Jon, Dany, and crew decide to take their army South to regroup.

- Arya continues her list and then reunites with the Hound.  He cusses a lot and Arya doesnt kill him.  They end up joining with Jon and Dany.

- Meanwhile in KL, Littlefinger has weaseled his way into the iron throne with help from the red witch, Melissa Anders.  Varys marches ahead of the group and kills LF.  Davos kills the red witch.  Jon and Dany arrive and they want to make Jon the king.  At first people say "but he's a Stark ******* he has no claim".  Then Maester Sam shows up with a book that proves Jon's lineage and he says "oh no you di-int!".  Jon ultimately says he doesnt want the throne and bows to Queen Dany instead.

- A despondent Sansa falls in love with Tyrion, recalling that he's the only dude to ever treat her good.  Tyrion says something profound like "I've had whores from the wall all the way to Mereen, but you m'lady, are the fairest of all of them."  They have sex.

- The ultimate battle with the white walkers takes place.  Jamie, Bronn, Davos die in combat.  The dragons do lots of damage but are killed.  Bran worgs into the future and sees the white walkers' plans which helps Jon and his army set a trap and wipe them all out.
:blackdot:

and well done, Ser Scoresman.

Yeah the kid was just running to light the candle and was followed. After he lit it and saw he was close he shanked him and ran off.

I'm sure the flayed men were distance markers. That's part of what gave him the confidence in the shot.
