Pretty solid @Worm, I'd agree with all of it except maybe Jamie making it out alive and heading back Brienne. Sansa's army would probably be the Wildings, hard for me to believe Tormund is going to walk from a fight, even if it down south. I don't know, maybe not but agree Sansa shows up with some kinda army.As I said last night, I liked this episode. the dialogue was pretty solid and honestly didn't expect it from this crew of writers. I think they are painting Dany into a corner with the Mad Queen dialogue but as someone mentioned, we are running out of time so it's probably the path we are going down.
Couple of observations...the whole dragon's scouting ahead thing. I feel like if Jon had been there maybe that would have happened. He's a seasoned warrior that thinks like this, Dany isn't. She's flying around happy as a lark and Rhaegal bites it. Also don't understand why she didn't fire up a few ships while she made the Mad Queen dive bomb risking her last dragon by flying straight into a fusillade of arrows without at least toasting some douchebags. Minor ##### but it seems military tactics have taken a backseat to Hollywood.
Other observation, when Dany & company approach King's Landing they certainly had the purpose of delivering terms to Cersei but I also think it was a scouting mission to see what they could see. Tyrion mentioned drawing the Lannister army out onto the plain in front of King's Landing but I think from what we saw last night, that would be complete folly unless it's diversionary in nature. They panned out at the end to show the vastness of KL. If I had a dragon I'd come in from the backside and fire up the whole ####### place. Tyrion is desperately trying to save KL's but it's not going to happen. Not because Dany is the Mad Queen (although could be) but because Cersei doesn't give a rip about 'her people' or KL. She cares about sitting on the throne when the dust settles and if that means it is her alone sitting on the throne amidst piles of rubble I think she'd be just fine with that.

I much prefer the idea of complicated , flawed characters more than I like "good guys and bad guys". Nearly all the main players in this show, with a few exceptions (Brianne, Samwell, a couple others) have done both horrific #### as well well as really good acts.
GoTs legacy will be more than fine even if Dany does devolve into the Mad Queen.

I disagree, look at this clip right at the 3:42 mark. All the ships have fired off their scorpions, two more flaps of Drogon's wings and he toasts that whole fleet. Not a big deal but if you're going to take the risk might as well finish it.

You know they're just trying to wrap everything up as fast as possible when you get a line like "The new prince of Dorne pledges his allegiance." Like we spent 2 seasons in Dorne, and now they can't even give the guy a name?

1. Just because the writers wanted to kill a dragon and have Euron's fleet survive. They wanted to make Dany's crew disadvantaged and out for more vengeance.Three questions....

2. The time it takes people to travel in the show has become really inconsistent, it's impossible to tell how much time is passing. It used to take episodes or entire seasons to travel from one place to the next. Now sometimes it happens from one scene to the next, sometimes it one episode to the next. Who knows.

I really don't get how or why this bothers some of you so much. They use time loosely otherwise we get entire seasons of armies marching towards their destination. I mean, do we think that the entire battle at Winterfell with the dead only took an hour from start to end?

Yeah. There is minimal effort given except how to get from point a to b fastest.
I said a billion pages ago should have dealt with cersi first then the NK.
Hype for this battle is low imo. Sort of cheering for cersi tbh.

It's just confusing IMO. Also one of the things I liked about the show was it's slower pacing.

Not immediately, they had to reload which takes a hot minute with those things. I stand firm she coulda toasted that whole fleet and ended the scourge that is Euron Greyjoy.
And why not fly around the ships and attack from the rear? Seems like a dragon has far more maneuverability than those ships

I get that it's simplistic and would agree with you on most characters...but imo it's different with Dany. Rooting for her in the decades of rewatches to come gets tough if you know that's her destiny. It takes a lot of power away from some of the show's best storylines and big moments in the first half of it's run.
They have little more than an outline from GRRM and obviously are struggling with it....

I mean I thought it was dumb the first time they sacrificed a freaking dragon just to show her the army of the dead was real, but yeah, let's give talking to Cersei another shot.
Really don't wanna be that guy, but the past two seasons have been like night and day compared to the ones tied to the books IMO. One of the best things about the show as a whole was the unpredictability, that you never knew for sure who would get got. Now it just feels like a Hollywood ending is coming. All that said, I'll still be eagerly watching to find out.

It still is the greatest spectacle ever put on TV but my disappointment is because I thought the first 4ish season were great art and as good as TV could ever be.

You guys pay attention when the show is on? Dany didn't think she'd surrender under any circumstance. She only came around on the idea when she realized it was an ###-covering move, showing she tried her best to avoid it before torching King's Landing (and undoubtedly thousands of civilians). She straight up said that, I'm not even reading between the lines.
My questioning it wasn't so much about the time it took him....it was more about how he was allowed into Winterfell. Doesn't everyone know he's with Cersei's army? Why just let him wonder in?

But I'd imagine her rationalizing it by saying she swore to her brother. Since he wasn't her brother, she wasn't bound to it.
Or something like that.
For as great a job they did adapting the books, they are clearly just stumbling from one bullet point to another on that outline (and have been since they ran out of source material).

The real (and only) problem with that scene was even one-handed Jaimie should be able to get the drop on someone reloading a crossbow just two feet away. I choose to believe he was in shock Bronn shot at all.
