Game Thread: 49ers at Packers (1 Viewer)

The Niners are so impressive, top to bottom. I'm more of an Alex Smith fan than most, but that said, had Peyton Manning signed with San Francisco, they would have slept-walked into the Super Bowl.
I don't know what else people want Smith to do
As I said, I like him. But who on earth would say he's better than (a healthy) Manning?
Manning isn't healthy. That's the problem.
Is that what your examination revealed?

Green bay's offensive line is doing an outstanding job in pass protection so far. If they can hold the Smiths off for four quarters they will take this one no problem.

Manning at 80% is better than Smith esp in a Harbough offense.

Would love it if they could run block a bit too. And Roders has faced a bit of pressure as well. They do seem to be better than last year so far.

Kind of ironic time to say that given Smiths day thus far.

I kind of think the 49ers would have a 21-7 lead if Peyton was playing for them.

Most teams don't run block well against the niners. Wouldn't Hold that against them.

Then you're not being realistic.

I don't equate healthy with multiple surgeries to correct the same problem.

The threat of Peyton, Davis, and Moss against this GB secondary would be a huge factor.

Sure am. 49ers have had open WRs all over the field. Smith isn't great at progressing through his reads. Manning is.

At he time we began this Smith was 9/10 with a TD and 105 yds.

Sorry Manning would have gotten 7 Instead of 3 on the second drive. Wile Peyton's arm isn't as strong he hasn't lost his ability to read the D and take advantage of them.

:lmao: IndeedEdit to add: are all Packer fans blindly stupid, that we somehow all see J Bush as completely useless? Or is the coaching staff delusional? I can't see any logical reason to start him opposite Tramon. Why not just throw Shields or Hayward in there?
I still think he's TT's illegitimate child. But I will say, on ST the guy can play.

I'd like to see Hayward get a shot. Sucks that House got hurt in preseason.

Either way the Packers secondary as a whole sucks.
the Davon House injury was unfortunate, because he looked really good in preseason. At what point do McCarthy and TT come to the conclusion that Capers isn't a good talent evaluator? Every team he goes to, the defense is amazing in year 1, and then it gradually degrades. My hypothesis is that Capers is an amazing coach....but somehow he has difficulty evaluating talent (draft, etc). Just a hypothesis. But what other explanation is there for his track record?
