Game Thread - DEN @ BUF (1 Viewer)

15 minute delay to get the guy off the field... Hope it's not serious (it only is like .1% of the time), but my goodness, what's the damn harm in getting the guy on a stretcher and checking him out on the sideline instead of letting 500K people wish they had directTV?
 You move a head/neck injury as little as possible, especially one that serious. Sorry to inconvenience you.
Uhhh, obviously they've got to MOVE the guy anyway. What's the difference if it's into a stretcher or onto an ambulance? Get his butt off the field and move on. They DO THAT EVERY TIME EVENTUALLY ANYWAY, so why not get the game moving?
Go home, Homer.
OK, I will eagerly await your report from the team's website as to whether the guy's in critical condition or not. I'm sure we're all on pins and needles.
With comments like that, you can expect to have a nice season, guy. :lmao:
If you're talking about karma, obviously, I'd have worse things to worry about than having a "nice season". Of course, you all know I'm right: There is NO risk of further injury by moving the guy that's "shook up" off the field to examine him instead of makeing time STOP and doing it on the field.

Marshall with a sweet TD catch in the corner. Good job to get both feet in.

A lot of good work by Henry to get them to the goal line.

No, I'm saying with comments like that, the mods are going to give you a nice board vacation.

I don't think they bring out the ambulance for a guy who's "shook up". His inability to move his extremities is a hint.

You clearly don't know what you're talking about.ban.

OK, please explain to me why the guy has to be examined on the field and not on the sidelines? Why those critical 20 seconds it would take to move him via stretcher are vitally important in what all of you assume to be a life or death situation? Do we all agree he's eventually going to be put on a stretcher anyway? What's the difference if you do it after 3 minutes or 20? What's the difference if he's examined on the sideline or on the field? I'd really like to know.

The guys who bring out the stretcher are the team doctor and his staff. The ambulance is actual paramedics from the hospital. For starters.

Because you should move the guy as little as possible. Why move him off to the sidelines, then move him again up into an ambulance? Do it all in one shot-- after the paramedics have taken a look at him. Better safe than sorry. If he was "shook up" they wouldn't bring out an ambulance. I'm not saying you should be banned for making an ignorant statement. I'm saying you take fantasy football way too seriously and need to take some class hormone injections.

{sigh}anything on the game? some of us have fantasy players that we can't watch and we'd like to know.
Henry looks good, Cutler is making some mistakes, Lynch looks like he could replace Willis and the Buffalo O-line looks better than I remember, and JP looks to hae regressed a little bit.

If his neck is broken, but he spinal cord is fine, you don't want to do ANYTHING that would damage the spine. Is your impatience worth the risk of paralyzing a guy?I just hope that if you get into a car accident, that someone yell's, "just get him out of the road already."

If someone is not moving, Airway, breathing and circulation is being assesed. If all three are checked and the person is unconscious, there is a good chance within the minute that the person will become concious again. Once he does there is an assessment of the crainal nerves. They talk to the athlete to see if he can hear, see, taste (odd taste can mean spleen rupture), bleeding, and most importantly, if there is any numbness anywhere. If there is numbness then the medical staff knows where the problem is and can determine how to transport. If the person is not moving someone needs to stabilize the neck. The less motion there is the less likely someone will suffer from paraplegia or quadraplegia. There have been studies and it is fact. To transport it is difficult to move a big athlete as a team so as little movement is made as possible. The guy at the head is usually the guy in charge. He needs to assign people to areas of the body to stabilize, then they need to log roll as a team to get him on the stretcher. Most imporantly, If the medical staff don't take the necessary precautions they can be sued for malpractice.

Why the hell did they call a passing play on second down? They were getting good yardage on every running play, but because of the sack, had to settle for a long FG attempt, which Elam missed.

YIKES. Evans got behind everyone that time and was overthrown.

That would have been what, maybe a 60 yard TD reception?

Horrid play call, Denver getting the ball back with this kind of time? Denver has enough time to do just about anything. Now, the penalty...Denver may only have to go 40 yards (provided Elam can make something)

WTF is Buffalo doing?

Lynch goes out of bounds on 2nd down to stop the clock, and then the Bills throw on 3rd down?????

  :wall:

Wow did Jake Plummer give Cutler bad decision making before he left?

Edit Walker is hurt, Denver forced to eat a TO

Injury to Walker gives Henry enough of a breather to get back in the game. Cutler runs for a 1st on 4th down and 2.

You can't tell anything from one game, but I already like how Denver is fighting this last drive right now way better than anything Plummer tried to do with them last year. Still some really shaky execution but they are trying to win, not trying not to lose.
