Game Thread -Divisionals-Pittsburgh V Indianapolis (1 Viewer)

This really is a sad day for football.. and I WAS rooting for The Colts.

But come on.

The guy catches the ball, with 2 feet on the ground, falls down, so now the knee and the butt and the other knee hit the ground and throughout all of this he controls the ball.

But because he tried to get up and run it's incomplete  :loco:

Could be the biggest disgrace in NFL History if The Colts go on to win this game.

Sad, sad day. :(
I didn't see the replay, but was there a view from behind? One that might have shown the ball come loose as he hit the ground before he rolled and got up?Otherwise  got me hangin' ?

I think this play may be as big as the Pats/Raiders tuck rule call depending on how this game plays out.
True. It depends. But, if Indy wins, I see this as even worse. That INT sealed it up for Pitt. And, I sorta' root for Indy. But, this was so absurd.

Pittsburgh punts...this is going to be interesting.

nonono...he caught it...he was cradling it....He had a firm grip on that ball even to the point where he was rolling on his back with it. He simply hit it out of his own hand with his knee while coming back up (thats how it looked to me anyway). Therefore, Im assuming that the ref's call was not based on possession of the football (I hope)

Nope, all shots showed the ball never moved till he tried to get back up and his knee hit it out. Really has me confused on what is "having control with two knees, a couple feet and your butt on the ground" means now.

And the poor officiating beat goes on. This has been an absolutely pathetic year for the officiating.
Could someone even explain what the reasoning was to overturn that?
There was a play for a Td that was overturned in week 16 or 17 that was the exact same thing. The guy caught the ball & went to the turf, but when he came back up he lost the ball. The announcers of that game actually called it correct & sighted the rule that if the player didn't have control when he got back up it was incomplete. The refs then reviewed it & called it the exact same way. I can't remember the game, but it was the first time I had ever seen this type ruling. This one didn't suprise me, it was the same exact deal.

I always heard one knee, hip, elbow equals two feet and possession. His whole body was on the ground, rolling around. Worst call ever. Fan of neither team.

I'm a firm believer in karma... with that call being so obviously bad Pitt should get a turn over at some point on this seriess or karma was working for Indy today and the bad call was karma's handywork.

Please consolidate all whining/excuses to this thread to avoid flooding the Shark Pool with tears.... the added salinity could be bad for the fishTIA:towelwave:

I'm going to say the same thing I said about the Raiders in 2001 and to a lesser extent the Patriots yesterday - I don't care if it was a bad call, if you give up back to back scores here, you lost the game.

ESPN has a poll up on their site asking about who will win next weekend, Pittsburgh or Denver.Which would be fine and all, except Indy is down by 3, has the football, and has 2:32 left in the game.A tad bit premature there, ESPN, don't you think?

Are you related to the ref? That is about as clear as his explanation.

Is this really in the rulebook? You catch it and are on the ground, but if you fumble while getting up it's incomplete? :loco:
