Game Thread - NE @ NYJ (1 Viewer)

If the Jets had a pass rush, they would be looking a really good team. Been very impressed with them on offense, especially the play-calling. If Indy had managed to catch the Patriots offside twice with quick snaps, we would have been hearing all sorts of comments about the genius of Manning/Dungy/Tom Moore.

Morris with 9 carries now including all of them on this drive. Maroney with 13 carries, but no receptions.

Morris shaken up and is getting looked at by the trainers.

It still looks like Maroney is on pace for his 15-20 touches, but he's not catching the ball a ton. He got the goal line carries, and got off to a good start, but he's really cooled off since then.

Maroney back in and he picks up the first down, but he danced around a little too much on that one. Swallowed up on the next drive as soon as he got to the line of scrimmage, picks up one.

Second and nine, another sideline grab by Randy Moss.

Kevin Faulk in for four yards to pick up the first down, and Maroney stays on the sideline. Moss has his helmet off and is laughing on the sidelines. Pats are taking the fill play clock, even calling a timeout at one second left when Brady didn't like the defense. He wants the insurance score here.

Sammy Morris back in, gets his tenth rush. If the game were closer, would Maroney be in?

Quick pass to Gaffney, his first of the game. He picks up the first down easily.

FIrst and goal from the six. Morris still in.

Heath Evans in now. Moss comes in in the goal line package and makes the reception for two yards. Third and goal from the four. Evans in, Brady has to throw it away.

The Patriots are a very good team so it might not be fair to judge them off this one game, however: I have a hard time seeing how this Jets team finishes above .500 this year. That secondary is weak and they are going to struggle against the run. Plus, the running game doesn't look very good either.

IMO, thats a big conclusion to jump to, considering that they were playing the best team in the league 1-53. Assuming Chad is good to go, the Jets will be fine. The secondary will get better as Revis gets more comfortable. No Dyson today either. Pass rush will actually exist against inferior O-lines. I'm not that worried. IMO, the jets are still in the wild card mix with teams like Jacksonville, Denver, Cincinnati and The Steelers. Things just need to break right.

The AFC is stacked, Indy, NE & SD are by far the best three teams in the NFL. Some of the 2nd tier AFC teams like Pittsburgh & Baltimore could challenge for the NFC crown.
