This thread will be pinned once we're under way.

If you see something happening, please describe the play instead of eg "WOW".

Please be constructive in your posting and describe more of what will help other fantasy owners

Remember, Not all of us are watching your game.

Leon Washington stood back to return a kick, it landed in front of him and bounced hit his shoulder pad but he made no attempt to grab the ball. Niners recover and house it. Refs say it doesnt touch Leon, watching the replay it clearly does, Niners Challenge and the ruling on the field stands. WTF?

Clearly is a matter of homerism. I watched it several times and didn't think it touched him.

Seattle will stop the run again this year just like they did in the first five games last year before DE Red Bryant was injured.

This game should be a very low scoring snoozefest as neither team will likely mount a passing attack. My guess is turnovers will be key.

Not a niner or hawks fan, I only own Davis in one league. But the ball bounced and changed directions when it was infront of his shoulder pad, so the game is either taking place in the matrix or the ball hit him.

Good punt return by Ginn. As long as SF doesn't turn the ball over we can expect a FG attempt. Wonder if a 3-0 lead could be enough to cement this win.

The ball looked like it hit him but it was awfully close.

Niners special teams are winning this game. Two punts of 60+ yards.

It isn't clear at all that he did. His complete lack of reaction probably was a big clue for the refs. I think it probably did brush his jersey, but not enough to even register to him that it did. Hard to overturn it without a clearer touch, would've been upheld if called a muff and Seattle had challenged.

God this announcer sucks.
Fully expect SEA, SF, and STL to draw the bottom of the barrel crew every week.
Not sure about the Rams. I really think by midseason they should be very exciting, plus they play a lot of top tier teams the first half of the season. But even the bottom barrel announcers shouldn't say things like "Lynch lined up wide right" when Lynch is the only back and the only guy wide right has a number completely different than 24 and is a foot taller and without dreads. Plus another half dozen gaffes just in the first quarter.

the ball appeared to suddenly change directions slightly, but i don't think it was anything conclusive enough to overrule the call...which i think is the point here. but yes, i think washington got bailed out...not an egregious call decision by the refs though.

Agreed on the Rams potential, but I included them based on the thought that Bradford might be injured and miss some time. I heard he did something to his hand.

Ginn follows up great punt return with a backwards running try to make everyone miss 15 yard loss on the next punt return.

These teams deserve to split their home and away games tying for a 1-15 record. Too bad most won't notice some respectable defense because of the piss poor offenses.

Willis is seemingly everywhere. I really can't tell which is the bigger influence - the crappy Seattle offense or the Niners defense.

I could logic out why the decided to go with Jackson at QB. Offensive line is going to be young and there will be severe pressure. Hence, find a mobile QB to try and keep him upright. This said, Jackson looks afraid to throw the ball even when he does have time. I made this same comment earlier in a preseason thread, and now I'm convinced of it. Whitehurst isn't much of an option, but maybe he will let some fly when he gets his chance. I just hope he can take the impending beating.

Pretty terrible PI call there. Edwards had a much bigger hold on Browner than vice versa.

Embarasing that two 3rd downs we get encroachment flags.

I think Stockton has called the wrong player at least 15 times. Mebane has about 100 pounds on Byrd. Better kneel on it Pete. Hate to try and pass the ball more than 5 yards.

Jon Ryan just put one into the end zone on a punt. 77 yards? Geesh. That guy must be worth a high pick in fantasy leagues that draft punters.

Terrible block in the back call. Hit the guy square on the side of his shoulders. Wipes out a 70 yard return. Just awful.

If the Safety can't come up and dislodge the ball with a hard hit leading with his shoulder...this just isn't football. Just put flags on them and let's play flag football.

Bad calls evened out for the drive. I dunno about the launching part of the play but that was a clean hit to the shoulder. Maybe leaving the feet makes it a penalty, but that was not a blow to the head obviously. Still, 1st down where it should've been after the bad call on the kick return.

I think the announcers here are lost. IMO that flag was about the DB leaving his feet launching himself at the WR.

Sorry...was a good call per the rules. The only reason that DIDNT end up ugly was that the reciever was 6'5 and standing tall. The defender launched upwards towards the head leading with a shoulder. That's a concussion for 3 out of 4 receivers and was correctly flagged.

(I have no dog in this hunt.)

Call was on #21. That wasn't Browner. Could have been anywhere on the field on any other player.
Seahawks don't have a #21.
Exactly. That's why I said it could have been on anyone anywhere else on the field.
Watch it again, the ref threw the flag right then and there after 39's block. That's the block they were flagging.

That is a textbook tackle. Up Next, Goodell's Girl's of Football. Protect the players, yes. Ruin the game, Kiss My A#$!!!
NFL fans can be such emotional tools. I can totally see the ref after the game seeing that play and realizing he made a bad call. It happened in a split second and its not a giant leap to see why the ref might have thought there was contact up high near the head after the DB launched himself like a missile at the receiver. They don't get to see the replay before they reach for the flag.

Gonna be a flag even if he misses the head. Initial contact was almost SIX FEET over the turf. Horrible, horrible technique....FAR from "textbook".

This'll be a bad call, looked like he had the jersey at the shoulder pad.

That is NOT a horsecollar. Ridiculous.
