Game Thread W1 - Tennessee at Jacksonville (1 Viewer)

This thread will be pinned once we're under way.

If you see something happening, please describe the play instead of eg "WOW". Not all of us are watching your game

First Titans drive went nowhere. Hasselbleck sacked on 1st down, Johnson goes nowhere on 2nd, Washington catches a 7 yd pass on 3rd & 16.

First Jags drive results in a 21 yard TD run by MJD! Jags drive had 9 runs and 2 passes. MJD had 4 runs on first 4 plays, then Karim had a couple of runs as MJD had a breather. A couple of passes to Mike Thomas sprinkled in. MJD came back in and broke in untouched.

Just watching the box scores because I'm in NY but MJD looks like he's beasting it. I will say that I don't know how long that will last, he's on pace to touch the ball like 40 times..

1st quarter- 4 carries for Johnson straight up the middle. The first 3 went for 0 yards, the last one for 3. This is not good.

End of 1st quarter 7-0 Jags. Johnson thru 3 drives has 4 carries for 3 yards. Britt has had 1 look but was overthrown.

For those that are actually able to watch this game... is Jacksonville looking that good or are the Titans just looking that bad??

A little of both, Jags d-line outplaying Titans O-line, Hasselbeck is high with his throws, Johnson can't get going, Jags controlling time of possession, MJD started well.

Yeah, it seems like the Jags caught them off guard in the beginning and has since evened out. I feel like the Titans might be relying too heavily on Chris Johnson, he's obviously going to need some time, I would like to see some kind of a plan B.

Rough start for CJ but he is a big play back, he can change his stat line in a hurry.
Big play back or not, you would still like to see him put some consistent yardage up each carry. 1 half of 2011 down and he has 14 total yards...yuck! Still, there are 31 more halves to go.

At the half, Jags lead 10-0. Johnson had a couple of garbage time before the half catches as the Jags looked to prevent anything deep.

Dear Matt Hassleback,

could you please at least drive your team close enough so Bironas could kick a few field goals?

Thank you,

Faulkfan

McCown definitley an upgrade over Garrard. Happy as a Marecedes Lewis and Mike Thomas owner... much more optimistic about this team this year.

I can see that. Some 1st team reps in the pre-season would've been a great idea though. Might've prevented that fumble.

Either a horrible miscommunication or an insane overthrow by Hasselbeck. Not good either way.

Note to Cecil Shorts: When a guy is running full speed directly at you, don't stand there and wait for it.

When it's short yardage like that and it's not 4th down, I'd like to see them give it to the fullback Greg Jones.

I've only been watching sporadically, but has McCown thrown the ball downfield at all? All I've seen is really short throws to the RBs and Mike Thomas?

HUGE goal line stand for Tennessee. Down only 2 scores instead of 3 gives a better chance to get CJ more involved on the ground.

Scobee kicks a 21 yard field goal. Titans goal line defense came up big. MJD went to the 1 on 1st and goal, then got stopped twice from the 1 yard line. Jags lead 13-0.

Are you kidding me? That was one of the most effed up plays I've ever seen.
This doesn't help anyone. For those not watching. Hasselbeck was scrambling in the pocket and just as he was about to be swamped by defenders almost underarmed it to Kenny Britt who went about 80 yards for a TD

Britt goes 80 yards for the score as he manages to catch a duck from Hasselbeck as he was being hit. Britt should have been destroyed as he caught the ball, but the Jag player just missed him. Titans back in it, Jags lead 13-7.

Hope the Jags bounce back well from that. They were a foot away from really putting their foot on the Titans' throats.
Jags should have been up 17-0 but couldn't punch it in from the goalline. Britt should have been laid out on his TD catch and run.
