Game Thread W10 - Buffalo V New England (1 Viewer)

Gorgeous 3-and-out for the Bills offense.

This is going to be like all the Bills-Pats games of the last 5 years.

sigh

Jauron tries to challenge a non-catch by Welker, but the refs don't see him screaming with the flag. 2 plays later, Cassel TD run.

7-0 Pats

I'm embarrassed. The Bills are looking horrible. That helmet to helmet hit was bogus. Jauron shouldn't have even hesitated throwing that flag. And how does Cassell run right up our middle?

The announcers hit on it immediately....the Bills are rushing only the front 4 once again...Cassel has all day...Helmet-to-helmet call was questionable, but it was pretty close.

IMO, there's a direct correlation between the loss of Josh Reed and the disappearance of the Bills intermediate passing game.

Nice play by Parrish there...looked like a first but who knows...

Geesh, that false start penalty was ridiculous too. I'm pretty sure that the offensive lineman is allowed to breath. Peters moved about a tenth of an inch, could have been the ground shifting it was such a slight move. No way that should have been called a false start.

Just too many key injuries for the Bills IMO. Schoebel's loss is killing them. Whitner's loss is also huge. McGee still isn't 100% healthy and losing Youboty for the season ended up hurting a lot more than you would figure. And Josh Reed's loss on offense has been huge as well. They need to start throwing downfield to Evans though to get some of those safeties off of the LOS.

:hot: Bills are just not that good. They're not a playoff-caliber team.
The injuries have killed them. Peters holdout killed them. Their LBers just aren't good enough. They don't ever make plays. They're always tackling 6 yards downfield, trailing in coverage or just not there. And they're young. They're never going to get the benefit of a doubt on close calls. It's just the way it is.

I think they can be good next year and for years to come. But injuries, added to the fact that teams have figured them out, are exposing the team's weak points.Offensively, teams have figured out that blitzing Edwards is a good way to stop him. If he gets time in the pocket, he can make decent downfield throws...but forcing him into quick passes, combined with absolutely 0 running game, means the Bills are in trouble.

Agreed. Unfortunately the problems are what they have been for a long time: the lines. The offensive line is opening up ZERO running lanes for the RBs and allowing way too much pressure on Edwards play after play. And the defensive line is getting NO pressure on the QB and isn't stuffing runs either. I haven't heard much criticism for Stroud, but he hasn't been a difference maker at all. Kris Jenkins just dominated the Bills last week on his own, Stroud isn't doing that at all. And without Schoebel, the DEs aren't even sniffing the QB.

I realize it's halfway into his rookie season, but Hardy has been outshined by all 3 of the Bills other receivers thus far....by a lot.

Even Stevie Johnson had a catch last week.

Peters absolutely whiffed on that 3rd down goaline play. Didn't even come close to hitting his guy. Totally embarassing. Now there's a guy that read too many of his own press clippings. Goes from being a nobody, to being a promising LT, to being overated.

Our LBs are terrible. They don't make plays in the running game and they don't cover those slants. They just stand around and wait for ball carriers to run into them. Good thing the Bills put Crowell on the IR.

This is another one of those grinding drives that have become all to commonplace for the Bills D these days....the kinda drive when the Bills keep getting so close and forcing 3rd and shorts, but give them up.

Wow. Two open WRs and two awful throws by Edwards.

Gotta go for it. You can't punt here!

Jauron is too conservative.
:lmao:So they let the clock run, calla timeout, then don't go for it, then pin the Patriots deep, THEN decide that they want to use their timeouts! So they ended up running off about 20 seconds that they then could have used and get nothing out of the whole thing. This team deserves to lose. Grow some balls. You've lost to the Patriots 9 times in a row. You're down by a TD in a division game that you HAVE to win. You're on the 39 yard line. GO FOR IT!!!!!!

I'm kinda sick of waiting for a decent game from Lynch ...not a bust but has not performed anywhere close to his draft and current rankings.

What is going on? How does he look?

Lynch looks fine, like he always does. The offensive line looks terrible...like it always does....Lynch has 0 holes to run though....he usually gets the ball and runs right into the back of his offensive linemen.

He looks like he wishes he was playing on a team with an offensive line that could pass block. I could probably count on one hand the numbers of runs I've seen of his this season where he wasn't getting hit at or behind the line of scrimmage by the defense. Just about every single yard he has this entire season is after contact. Embarassing lack of manhood by the Buffalo offensive line.
