Game Thread W12 - New England V Philly (1 Viewer)

This is the kind of game that I described as to how to beat the Patriots. Hog the time of possession. Go for it on 4th and short. Lots of runnning plays to try to wear them down by the 4th quarter. Keep Brady and Moss off the field. They have not been on the field and the 1st quarter is half over.
The best way to beat (or at least tie) the Patriots is to score every time they do. The Eagles are 1 for 1 so far; can they keep it up?

Yeah, but before the TD, the Eagles had 8mins time of possesion to the Pats 0, and they were still losing!
The bigger problem is you have to stop the Patriots offense. I think the best plan of attack is to make your top priority stopping the "big play". Any mistakes you make in coverage and defense should be on short gains. Make them march downfield on a 12 play drive if they want a TD. Hopefully, they make a mistake. Even if they score, make them chew up the clock to shorten the game.

OK, what else is on TV.....
No doubt. After last week's blowout you'd think they would flex a competitive game into this slot.
I think NBC thought people would be more interested in "watching perfection", or at least the attempt at a perfect season.
Should have scheduled week 14, but not Philly. Great, we get to watch NE in prime-time 2 more times. 13 Dec 03 NE @ BAL - MNF14 Dec 09 PIT @ NE - should be a better game than Philly15 Dec 16 NYJ @ NE - :thumbdown:16 Dec 23 MIA @ NE - :X17 Dec 29 NE @ NYG - Saturday night

Interesting. The one counter I could think of to a gameplan designed to shorten the game is if Brady started running a no huddle to speed it back up. And he's doing it. Geeez.

This is one of those dreaded situations where I am a Pat's fan but I need 10 more points out of Westy. If this game is like the others I can have my cake and eat it too.

Eagles. If you do ANYTHING tonight, cover Vrabel at the goal line. You're going to lose anyway, but don't get disrespected like that.

Evans between the tackles!

hitting send when they came back from the break

Where the heck is maroney at????

Question:

Forget his career. At the level that Tom Brady is playing at RIGHT NOW, is there a single QB in history you would start over him? I can't think of one. Not Montana at his best in 89, not Warner in 2000, nobody. This is the best QB play EVER in the history of professional football.

BTW, lets set some ground rules for tonight....

Anything that involves Heath Evans or Kyle Eckles CANNOT be considered running up the score!

:loco:

Love the NBCs jabs with the outro music:

"Smooth Criminal" and "Freeze Frame" so far......

Makes me :loco:

I just don't understand why anyone would not like the Pat's

9 of their first 10 plays are run from the shotgun, without a huddle.

INSANE

He's unbelievably good. I'd love to be his agent.I'd even start this Brady over the former record setting Manning. The way he's distancing himself from other quarterbacks in the same year reminds me of that huge year Marino had with Clayton/Duper.

:loco: I'm no huge fan of Brady, but you have to respect his intensity and focus. I've never seen anything like it, or even close to it.
