Game Thread W12 - NY Giants V Tennessee (1 Viewer)

Damn. I was all geeked up about Tiki getting to 100 yds and another catch in OT. :wall: :wall: :wall:

This is pitiful. Just awful.

Ever since that playoff appearance last year against Carolina, Eli has looked like a little boy on the field. How much better is he going to get at this point? He's still young, but the guy has a long long way to go.

True, but 24 unanswered in the 4th?

Hopefully the good that will come from this is a complete removal of the entire coaching staff, with Tom Coughlin being throw out of his office by a few guys from Jersey City who work in "construction."

Having to watch the webcast, but Vince appears to spreading the ball around and making better decisions. Hopefully they'll still lose enough to get Calvin Johnson or (at worst) Dwayne Jarrett.
They've got a boatload of draft picks, they will probably be willing to trade up for a receiver.

Brutal, Brutal loss. Almost inexplicable.

Great job by Vince. Guy is a player, big time.

Not sure you can say that about anyone on the Giants right now. Coughlin has lost the ship with this one... and Plax is already long gone.

ESPN had this stat in the Countdown: Of the 4 first round QBs in 2004, Eli, Rivers, Roethisberger, and JP Losman, Eli has the lowest career passer rating.

Stick a fork in the g-men, they're done.It's Dallas' division to lose.
Agreed.Eli needs a serious off season training program to work on his midrange passing. Plax needs to either be gotten rid of or kicked in the ### repeatedly until he begs to work on his aggressiveness. And Tom Coughlin needs to go. I would have gotten rid of him a few games ago but this has got to be the last straw. He was brought it for a variety of reasons, not the least of which was that he was all about discipline and that is what the team needed. And he hasn't produced there consistently. The players call him out all the time now, and with apologies to Mike & and Mad Dog, I believe it to be well deserved and necessary at this point because this season has proven that Tom Coughlin is not a God of football planning.And whoever gets hired to replace the garbage in the head coaches office, can you please, please come up with a game plan that gets your most emotional player involved early and often in the passing game? Please? It's not that hard. Rant over. Vince Young is for real. Very, very for real.

Problem re: Coughlin and getting rid of him was that he was (I believe) Mara's last football decision. The family, with Eerni Accorsi set to retire, will be that much less likely to go with a new coach, also.

But he really must have lost the team today - they've been teetering all year.

Yeah. Look, I haven't been quiet in these game threads all year about my hate for Coughlin. I've never liked him, feel like every win the team gets is in spite of him, and really really want him and his staff to go away.I admit I'm biased there. But this is getting seriously comical. He needs to go.

I agree he should go.But I fear the Giants won't do it.

The problem is that when he goes they will get worse. I don't see a healthy transition from a good coaching staff to a great one. In other words, there isn't going to be a Tony Dungy to compliment the offense. At this point, it would have to be Tuna or BB to be enough of a compliment. Oh what am I saying, they aren't even out of the playoffs yet and I am already looking towards next year. Pathetic.

Watching Coughlin on the post game:

He's incredibly similar to an old, simple minded country boy.

Unfortunately, there's a fine line between ranchhand and football coach. Tom should just saddle his bay and go find a fence to mend.

For all the Pacman haters: Pac is the one that changed this game. I'm taking NOTHING away from Vince as he put it in the endzone and deserves the glory for it. However, if it weren't for Pacman he would never have had the chance. 2 INTs in the 4th quarter and a big punt return. Pac is the man.

I do wish he had Vince's composure, but he gets my game MVP vote.

That was the 3rd loudest I've ever heard LP Field. 1 -- MNF when we beat the Patsies, 2 -- opening night 3 years ago when we beat the Raiders on Sunday night, then this. It was quiet as the dead at the midpoint, but once we got to 21-7 it was very, very loud.

VY = :excited:

Pac = :jawdrop: :football:

Giants = :clyde:

watched the pats bears game and missed this onewhat did plax do to get everyones panties in a bunch?

On one of Eli's interceptions he overthrew Burress who basically just gave up and watched as Pacman intercepted it, then stood there and gave a half ### swipe at Pacman as he returned it up the sideline for good yards. Lazy play by Burress that proved quite costly in the final analysis (it was 21-0 at the time). Worse than Kiwi's 4th and 10 non-sack play because at least Kiwi was making good effort he just mistakenly thought Vince had thrown the ball so he let him go rather than risk a roughing call. However, that play was at a much bigger moment in the game as the sack would have ended Tenn's comebak at 21-14 and instead Vince runs 19 yards for the 1st down and then completes the comeback with a TD pass a few plays later.Great game! Vince finally looked comfortable running the ball... just gliding past defenders and setting up his blockers like he did in college. There is no doubt at this point that Vince's ability to run and make plays with his feet will translate nicely into the NFL. Not to the extent of his college days, but plenty enough to make NFL D-coordinators lose some sleep.
