Im baffled by this as wellU needed 2 TD's down15, you need 2 TD's down 12, why kick a fg if not using onside?
Pretty sure Reid sucks at math.Im baffled by this as wellU needed 2 TD's down15, you need 2 TD's down 12, why kick a fg if not using onside?
Nice post, lou.Bears win, but no doubt the Iggles would have won had it been a 5 quarter game lol
If "ifs" and "buts" were candy and nuts, we'd all have a merry christmas.Nice post, lou.Bears win, but no doubt the Iggles would have won had it been a 5 quarter game lol
Thanks. I was beginning to think I didn't understand football the way the announcers were saying going for the FG was the right play. Why?? You still need two TD's. I just don't get the FG regardless if was 4th and whatever. Doesn't make sense to me.Im baffled by this as wellU needed 2 TD's down15, you need 2 TD's down 12, why kick a fg if not using onside?
BEAR DOWN!!!
Not so obvious. 1. The Bears had 10 days to prepare for Philly.2. The Bears took advantage of Joselio Hanson and Trevard Lindley, where in a playoff game, Asante Samuel would have been out there. There was one play imparticular where #13 did a slant route and Lindley just let him catch it, missed a tackle and he turned it into like a 30 yard gain. That's a play Samuel jumps and is returning it for 6.Pretty obvious the Bears are the best team in the NFC. They are clearly better than the over hyped Vick led Eagles. Cutler > Vick as well. This Bears defense is right there with the Steelers for best in the entire NFL.
Terrible odds with any choice, but here's the choices:Go for TD on 4th from the EIGHTEEN...still need a low percentage two point conversion and another TD...for tie. Best case you can kick off and play normal defense needing one more possession. By far the most likely case..you're still down 15, still need two possessions and a 2 point conversion.Kick the 3...you still need 2 more possessions, so will need to convert an on-side kick, but two TD's is for the win, not a tie attempt.Reid figured his odds of two more possessions were better than converting a 4th and goal from 18 out AND a two point conversion. I tend to agree.Thanks. I was beginning to think I didn't understand football the way the announcers were saying going for the FG was the right play. Why?? You still need two TD's. Can't wait to hear the excuses if the eagles make the Playoffs and get the beatdown again. I think the Bears exposed the Eagles and Vick. Good luck the rest of the season....Not so obvious. 1. Guess it depends on how you want to look at it. IMHO - If you go for the TD on 4th and 18, three things can happen. 1) You score the TD, 2) You throw an incompletion and they get the ball at the 18 or 3) You complete the pass and come up short of the goalline giving them the ball probably inside the 10. IF they go 3 and out you probably get the ball back at midfield. You kick the 3.... I agree with you. It means that of you are able to get the ball back two more times and score two TD's, you win rather than have a potential tie.Just think I have as good as chance scoring on one shot from the 18 than I do getting an onside kick back and driving for a game winning TD. I guess there is no right answer just seemed like a strange move to me.Terrible odds with any choice, but here's the choices:Go for TD on 4th from the EIGHTEEN...still need a low percentage two point conversion and another TD...for tie.
