Game Thread W13 - Atlanta V Tampa Bay (1 Viewer)

Wow, look at that, the 3 man rush actually got him down. Guess that means they will keep using it to death.

Just heard that was the first Falcons kickoff return TD since 12-15-02. Been too long.

Both teams will be out of challenges. Doubt Atl gets this but can't blame Smith since they likely aren't converting a 3rd and 20 so the yards are huge. White got hands under it but inpossible to tell if they were there the whole time.

ETA: Perfect Ryan to White play to prove me wrong on 3rd and 20

I just don't like rushing 3 at all. They are giving him to much time to pick their soft coverage apart. Fantastic catch there though.

Instant replay is only good for the NFL to get another round of commercials in. Sure don't matter getting it right. Ball on the ground ball moves. A catch?

Once you realize how good the Falcons are, you also realize how good the Buccaneers are as a team. I know wins are all that count but after this game, the one last week and the other game against the Falcons, it's clear the Buccaneers are just a step-- not a huge step-- behind the elite teams. Not bad for the youngest team in the league.

If you need undisputable video evidence, they didn't have it on that one. Just like the 2nd TB INT and incompletion to Roddy that the ref used the words 'Stands' instead of confirmed. 5 challenges today, 1 reversed, 3 Stood as called, 1 confirmed as called.

Falcons played one of their worst games on one of the worst field conditions I've ever seen (Having a college game the day before should be banned). This was the Bucs Super Bowl and the Falcons pulled out the victory, I like what I see in this team.

Pretty bad when Mike Pereira says it wasn't an INT. The ball obviouslly bobbled when he rolled. Another Atl game with horrible ball spots and calls that all went Atlantas way.

1st drive of game they spotted Turner a yard past where the ball was and it gave them the 1st. The other horrible one was when Winslow made the move on the sideline and reached for the first. I thought Raheem should have challenged the spot there instead of settling for the FG.

Anyways, this is starting to become expected against Atl. They keep squeaking out wins but this isn't a SB quality team. Anyone who thinks it is is fooling themselves. They are pretty well balanced but Philly would torch them even in the Dome.

Lol at "it was the Bucs Super Bowl", as if they were some 2-win team playing the 95 Cowboys or something.

I don't think anyone is fooling themselves into thinking Atlanta is the end all be all of playoff teams, but I do think they can beat anyone at any time. That's just how the NFL is these days. Homefield and a bye is a big deal as well so that's what we're playing for.Just like I think they properly overturned the Roddy White non-catch, I thought they properly confirmed the INT by Grimes. Pereria should know what "indisputable" means at this point. If it was called incomplete, they would've kept it incomplete but I don't think there was indisputable evidence either way.

 If the Falcons take care of business, then they won't need to worry about poor field conditions this year. What impressed me is that they had a game with a number of mistakes (which we haven't seen from them) and still overcame them to beat a playoff caliber team.

The Bucs played pretty bad as well. Aquib dropped and easy INT and Mike Williams also dropped a key 1st down. Quite a few penalties as well. This team is still young though so that's part of what you get with starting a ton of rookies.

Yup and Falcons had a tough schedule this year as well with the strongest strength of schedule out of the current playoff caliber teams: http://espn.go.com/nfl/standings/_/type/pl...ank/order/false
