Game Thread W13 - Cincinnati V Pittsburgh (1 Viewer)

Willie Parker needs to hit the bench. He's trying to give this game away! Another fuumble that luckily goes out of bounds. Time for Bus/Duce.

The Steelers just can't play in a shootout. Their offense isn't designed nor manned to compete in a high scoring game.

Wow, watched most of this game split-screened with the Ravens ( :X ). Very impressive and determined effort by the Bengals in a hostile environment, with a lot at stake, against a team that really pushed them around the last time. They could be a big factor in the AFC playoffs (until they run into the Colts, that is).

That's game.

Congrats to the Bengals...they deserve this one.
Class man, class. Man is this exciting. I was ready to talk a bunch of trash, but will refrain in response to this post.I lost my voice watching that game.

Tough game today for Steelers Nation. 4 turnovers did us in. Cincy played a great game and deserved the win. This just makes next weeks game v. Da' Bears an absolute must win! Keep the faith. :towelwave:

Well, as hard as it is to admit right now...*If* the Steelers don't make it I want Cinci to roll in the playoffs. It's not like they're the Clowns or the Ratbirds....and I'm a Marvin Lewis fan. You guys have a solid team this year.

Someone explain this to me. When Cinci had the ball 3rd and 13 with 2:43 to play, Palmer hit Perry in the middle of the field for 7 yards. There was a holding penalty called but Pitt declined it forcing Cinci to punt. The clock did not start running until Cinci snapped the ball on the punt. Shouldn't the clock have started running as soon as the ref set the ball and "wound the clock" since the holding penalty was declined?

No, I'm not sure what the reasoning is, but I believe the rule is that even with the penalty declined the clock is stopped....A flag will stop the clock whether it's accpeted or declined. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong here.

The black and blue division moniker is going bye-bye. The AFC North will start building teams that can light it up on O, and defend the homerun ball.

If so, the Ravens have the biggest rebuilding job of them all. I can foresee them flailing behind Cincy for several years to come.

I guess this explains it:http://www.nfl.com/news/rulesdigest.html

With the exception of the last two minutes of the first half and the last five minutes of the second half, the game clock will be restarted following a kickoff return, a player going out of bounds on a play from scrimmage, or after declined penalties when appropriate on the referee's signal.
Fouls that occur in the last five minutes of the fourth quarter as well as the last two minutes of the first half will result in the clock starting on the snap
