Game Thread W13 - Houston V Oakland (1 Viewer)

:lmao: @ nobody in here. I thought for sure all the Raider fans would but excited about discussing John Shoop's new offensive scheme.
I remember him from his excellent Bear days. And by excellent I mean total poop.

Yeah, it's like watching a train wreck.

For you IDP'ers, Derrick Burgess is simply getting owned by one of the worst offensive lines in the league. He's getting pushed straight up and he's getting zero penetration thus far. Brayton has had some good push, but he'll need a new pair of socks after that Carr juke.

Raider pass coverage has been excellent thus far.

:jawdrop:

Aaron Brooks threw the ball out of bounds instead of taking a sack on a designed roll out. Hadn't seen him do that in several years with the Saints.

Brooks INT on a jump ball by McCleon.

It was to #87, who I think is Curry. (edit: no, it's Whitted)

Great job! keep it coming. Does R. Moss look like he's giving up, or is he playing/blocking?

He coaxed a personal foul out of CC Brown earlier (grabbing his foot until CC kicked him), but otherwise I haven't seen much of him since that first series. Brooks really looks to favor Randal Williams. He looks in his general direction as the first option on most plays.

The minute I talk smack about Derrick Burgess, he gets a sack. Carr took off, and Burgess grabbed him when he passed him.

Edit: Burgess was still "stood up", but was quick enough to grab Carr on his way past. Not your traditional sack by any means.

Shank punt by Houston, and a great 29 yard return by Carr of the Raiders. (play under review...may have stepped out)

On my initial review, the play should not be overturned. Not enough evidence.

Refs feeling: they do not agree. Say he stepped out of bounds early.

Unlike the Raiders, the Texans are getting tremendous pressure on Brooks. He's surrounded on nearly every pass play.

For you Fargas owners, they are using him on a variety of runs, not just sweeps and off tackle stuff. They're running him a lot between the tackles.

For you IDPers, this is no surprise, but DeMeco Ryans is everywhere today. Had a sack earlier, and they've been blitzing him effectively as the game goes on.

 I was hoping he would drop one more spot to the saints in the 2nd round.

That last Kalu sack was no gift. Nice bull rush sack on Brooks, who dropped five steps and held the ball 3 seconds

Kirk Morrison Defensive fumble return for a TD (for raiders)

add: Sapp stripped Carr while Carr was scrambling

Tommy Kelly with a coverage sack of Carr. Carr seemed to have all day back there, but it eventually broke down.

For Moss owners, I haven't seen him involved in any play for a long time. They're not running to his side, and they're certainly not targeting him.

After grabbing Bush in the first, would have rivaled their George Rogers draft back in the 80's as one of their best.

No kidding with Colston in the 6th. Harper was not bad before he got hurt, and they dropped a few spots to pick up Faine, who has been very good thus far.

Ok, now it makes sense. Wondered why this game seemed so bland, and then I saw that Solomon Wilcots was the color guy for the game

 Mathis with an 87 yard return for the Texans. Horse collard down by #26 of the Raiders

Edit: First game he's been active this year

Two passes right in a row completed to Moss. The Texans seem to be sleeping on him, giving Moss single coverage this half.

Raiders haven't been afraid to run it up the gut of the Texan defense (especially on third and short), even when Houston has 8 in the box.

This looks like HOU best draft pick to date IMO. What a steal in the second round.

strange unsportsmanlike call against the Texans on that last punt. Ref said the player willingly left the field, but continued to run down the sidelines (maybe to look like 12 men were running down the field?)
