Game Thread W14 - Miami V San Diego (2 Viewers)

Ronnie Brown dove overe the goalline from the one, flipped, landed on his head, and lost the ball. He may have crossed the plane, his head may have touched before the fumble, or he may just have fumbled. San Diego recovered, and the replay official upheld the original ruling of the fumble, but his microphone was off so it's hard to know exactly why (except that there wasn't conclusive evidence to overturn it).

So the Chargers get the ball.Let me tell you how this ends:The Chargers take about 5 to 6 minutes here and score a touchdown. On the ensuing kickoff the Dolphins get the ball back around their own 37 yard line as the Chargers fail again on kickoff kicking/coverage.The Dolphins drive for about 35 yards and kick the game winning field goal as time runs out.Bad Charger special teams loses them the game again.

If they punt, the game is over.

They have to make six inches.
With 5 minutes left and all 3 TOs? If they go for it and dont make it the game is over. Bad decision despite it working.

Shottenheimer playing to win, instead of playing not to lose? Is this a less kind, less gentle version of Marty ball?

i almost cant watch this anymore... i've watched too many games this year slip through our hands...Come on defense

Ironically if this goes as it seems it'll lock up a push on my Dolphins over season wins wager. I'd rather not have had the bet come in this week.

If SD rushes 44 times today instead of throwing 44 times, they would have had a better chance to win this game.

If you're watching the game you'd understand that this isn't true.

Interesting to note...The Fish are giving the ball to Ricky here... even though he also fumbled once it seems they have more faith in the vet.

Too bad Marty didn't kick a fieldgoal in the first half instead of going for it twice on 4th down and not making it.

Whatever ends up happening in this game, I just wanted to say thank you to Drew Brees and Antonio Gates for that pass right there.

:hifive: you and me both. gb meaningless game ending drives that equate to fantasy wins

But can you explain why one of the best pass-catching RBs in the league is again totally ignored in this area? Is he hurting that bad or is Marty once again that incredibly stoopid?

Yup. Kaeding would have missed it anyway though - I have no faith in that guy. It may be irrational in light of the stats this year, but that's just how I feel - and maybe that's how Marty feels too. Funny though that Marty still gets bashed around here for being too conservative. If you hear that from anyone again, kindly point them to this game here.

I can't explain that (that's not what the poster was talking about), other than to say that the Dophins linebackers were VERY active today, so I don't know how successful that would have been. But yeah they might have tried it a bit more than they did.

The Chargers got seven points on those two drives. If they had kicked a field goal both times, they would have gotten at most six points.I was in favor of kicking, but in hindsight going for it worked out better.

Right now, I am :lmao: at all of the so-called ESPN expert analysts who have spent the last few weeks saying that the Chargers are the 2nd best team in the NFL and ignoring the Broncos.
