Game Thread W15 - Jacksonville V Tennessee (1 Viewer)

In the third quarter the Titans offense had the ball for three plays and got five yards. 17 points. This is an unreal streak.

They finally switched off the Steelers/Panthers game and put on the Titans/Jags. Good times.

I wonder what the record is for consecutive offensive plays. The Jags are at about 30.

The D has to be exhausted for the Titans. If the offense goes 3 and out next time there's going to be trouble.

MJD stopped at the one. Fourth and one.

That is the most ####ed up game I've seen all year. I've seen the Jags throw away games, but this is tops. I'm practically speechless. Good win for the Titans organization.

Oh, and a helpful hint, Pacman - humping the goalpost padding after you score counts as "using an object in a celebration".
WRONG. He has done that on every TD this year. As a matter of fact, on the first one they threw a flag only to pick it up and explain that this was not a penalty. So either they were wrong then or wrong now, but he refs are wrong in one instance or the other and I believe it is now.

I disagree, it was quite beautiful.I'll get heat for saying that VY was a primary reason the Titans won this game but I believe it. How can I possibly say that? He obviously had what could be argued to be his worst game. However, what he has brought to this team this year is an attitude of toughness, of never giving up, of making something happen. You saw this D at the beginning of the year -- you think they'd have done this then? Not only would they not have had the big plays, they wouldn't have has the stops at the goalline either. It is a complete team effort -- VY has just helped to inspire the team to do that.Go Titans!

That is a stretch of an argument for this particular game. It was not VY's worst game, the last time he played the Jags was his worst. I do believe VY has been a positive influence for the Titans, helping them develop a winning attitude. Today, the defense won that game with big plays, plain & simple. PacMan Jones was amazing.

Congrats on your win today. The D, specifically Pacman, stepped up bigtime. However, this is an absurd statement.

I'm not talking about today, specifically -- I'm talking about the never give up attitude in general. We do not have different personnel than our first 5 games. What we do have is a different attitude. That is my only point, I just think VY's attitude kind of spurred that on.

Trust me, I understand you completely being from Austin, a huge Longhorn and VY fan. There is a bigger thing going on in Tennessee that transcends this one game. Everyone of those Titan players and the fans BELIEVE they can win every week against anybody. It is a remarkable turnaround from week 5 when on this board several people called TEN the worst team in the NFL. I'm positive VY is a part of the winning attitude nucleus. But today, at a tactical level, big defensive plays won that game and that is fine, after all it is a team sport. I've never been a Titan fan, but I am now. Next week Buffalo on the road, that will be huge one.

Pacman should be in the probowl as a corner AND returner.

Other teams just do not throw his way...and when they do, he makes them pay. As a returner, he is abolutely electrifying.

For those that didn't watch the game, beside the INT return he return a kickoff to about the 15 or 20 yard line, as well.

Pacman is a top 5, maybe top 3 CB.

Big win indeed. This defense is getting better and better and playing with a great deal of well-deserved confidence.
How well did they really play yesterday though? They made 3 huge plays. The rest of the time, they couldn't get the Jags off the field. The Jags had long drives, then made terrible plays (sure, you have to give the Titans some credit for making those plays). They had five drives of nine plays or more....and five that went 50 yards or more (three were both 9+ plays for >50 yards). This game gave new meaning to the 'bend but don't break' philosophy. Maybe 'bend, bend, bend, don't break and run some turnovers back really far'. Has a nice ring to it, no?

The defense's job is to prevent the other team's offense from scoring. The defense only allowed the Jags to score 17 points, and managed to score 21 points on their own, so given that, I would say that not only did they do their job, they did it extremely well.

I see your point, and agree to an extent. And while it may sound contrary to how football is player, the Titans were successful defensively because they bent and bent and bent. At some point in all of those offensive snaps, a mistake or three is going to be made. The Titans capitalized. In my view, that's a well palyed game: keep the other team in front of you and take advantage when they make the slightest slip.

Ok, Jags have the ball. Titans intercept and score. Titans then kick off to them. Titans have no offensive plays in between. When you score THREE defensive touchdowns, that is going to be the case.Capisci?
